Dream Duo
mind/kin troller with a spine/dark scrapper
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
Thomas Jefferson

For some reasons, I really like duo Fortunata (running two assault) or duo Crab (running two maneuver). I run duo crab like that with my twin brother. It's very strong.
I think duo sonic/pain corr is fun too.
And my current favorite is duo Necro/Pain with Oppressive Gloom. I didn't know OG is this fun! MM's OG has 12' radius. Duoing means we can stun most bosses too. I love having our own little undead army.
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
I don't know about dream duo, but my friend and I are planning on pairing an Ice/Cold Controller and a Fire/Earth Dom.
Dispari has more than enough credability, and certainly doesn't need to borrow any from you.

Two Empathy/Sonic defenders. Empathy is full of ridiculously powerful buffs that you can't cast on yourself...

So you think you're a hero, huh.

I duo with my brother;
the best combos so far we've tried are:
Sonic/sonic corr with a sonic/dark corr. The first /sonic provides excellent resistance and status protection, the dark adds to this with some psychic armor and healing. The /dark gives -tohit that creates defense to go with the resistance, and controls to keep unruly foes under. Did I mention the double sonic blast? The -resistance stacks with the -resistance form both secondaries, and by the time a couple blasts have landed, their damage taken is much higher- add on scourge, and bosses fall like minions.
Bots/ff with bots/traps masterminds: dual big bubbles, with huge defenses, and excellent offense. The range of the bots keeps them from needing to jostle each other much. There are no drawbacks.
Spines/regen and rad/rad defender: The AoE debuffs stack very well with the AoE damage, the regen's healing helps make up for rad/'s lower healing abilities. The rad -tohit and -dam help lessen regen's alpha weakness.
Oh, and dual elec/pain corrs. The double buffs are great, the dual short circuits shut down most mobs.
My normal partner (who is currently taking a break from the game) had a blast duoing our Fire/Dark Corruptors to 50 a couple months ago. It was plain and simply total carnage, especially deep within the narrow halls of Orenbega, which we renamed Murderworld.
We were also having fun with our Wolf Spider duos before the break as well, and our Widows (none of which are out of the teens yet unfortunatey)
My TanCrab and someone with resistance buffs.

Twin Empathy/Energy Defenders
Sonic/Energy Defender + PeaceBringer
Twin Fire/Rad Controllers
Dark/Rad Defender + Fire/NRG Blaster
These are no dreams though!!
This is my life!!! (well, my virtual one...)
I've always thought that Willpower + Cold Domination would make a hell of a combo. Willpower is really strong in its own right, but Cold Domination has the ability to both boost all of WP's greatest advantages as well as fill in all of its weaknesses. Willpower with +HP would have tremendous regen and a lot of HP buffer, and Cold would be able to add to its exotic resistance (which is one area where it lacks) as well as buff up its typed defense (to levels where it could dodge things very well). Between all those things, WP would be unstoppable in a duo.

I still think that two sonic/ defenders will be really strong paired (both running into melee with Disruption Field on the other). Never quite decided what secondary would be best. I'd like one without many cones, since the fields make staying in melee range make sense. Currently doing a sonic/rad and sonic/elec. It seems to me that twin sonic/sonics would probably get some of the highest ST damage a duo could crank out, but who cares about that when you can mulch things in AoE?
Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
Empathy/Sonic Defender * 2.
You get soft-capped defense, perma-hasten, 30% +damage (70% with two assaults), infinite endurance, constant AB (IH regen and the ability to nuke and still recover end), and lots of -resistance.
And that's with SOs.

A Spines/Fire brute (when that's eventually available) and a Fire/Kin corruptor.
Freedom: Blazing Larb, Fiery Fulcrum, Sardan Reborn, Arctic-Frenzy, Wasabi Sam, Mr Smashtastic.
I'd say a spines/dark scrapper and a fire/rad controller should be an amazing duo. I can't think of anything this combo couldn't do. Great controls, damage, buffs, and debuffs.

One I'd like to try, Earth/Thermal troller and a Fire/Stone tanker. Not the 'best', but I play both of these builds and find both extremely fun and effective. Would be a blast.

*scratches head* Lessee, if you have Ruladek the Strong or someone else who throws 8000-point hits... might run into trouble with that. I seem to recall Ruladek dropping me with some sort of cheesy "8000 points plus ten" attack that got past the 1-shot code. Doesn't Battle Maiden also hit like that every once in a while?

What is your idea of a dream duo, with specifc ATs and powersets?
