Quote:lmao "only" two aoesI worry that Umbral Torrent will be a giant knockback cone. Please don't do that. This set looks like it will only have two AoEs besides the nuke, and if the one that does good damage also does KB, there will be a lot of dissent.
Quote:Energy Drain no longer has a HEALING COMPONENT, instead it offers a small defense boost per target hit.
was that not added a while ago to help the set when something else was "adjusted"?
.
that heal was added to help the set, but it wasn't enough apparently -
Quote:Speaking of being patient... with all these awesome underperforming set buffs... will Trick Arrows be seeing any love? If there are, you are morally obligated to tell me of all people! I've been pushing for TA buffs for 6 years now!
TA has been buffed multiple times since it was originally released. It is by NO means an underperforming set these days. -

Quote:Or you can be a VIP and have a free transfer every month...I know this is water under the bridge, but with the new system coming online, I want to once again attempt to make the argument for more rational pricing for this one feature. Currently, this feature is implemented so that people can move a character to a new server to be with friends or to move an old toon people do not want to delete to a less used server to make room on their "primary" server for a new character. For that use, the price point listed is reasonable (I think high, but reasonable).
However, this could be so much more. Since it feels like cross-server teaming is Sadly a long way off (not even on a production schedule?), this could be used to solve the primary reason for cross-server teaming.
Maybe I am near unique, but I know several of my friends have the same situation. Characters strewn across 3, 4, or sometimes more servers. Sometimes I log-in and really want to play character X on server P, but my friends want to play on server G. Sometimes I log-in just to fool around and wait to see what is going on; I may see a team forming in one of my globals to run a TF/trial on server P, but I really want to do that TF/trial with a character on server G. Maybe I have joined a team for a TF on server L, but the team really wants buff/debuff, while I would love to switch to one of my buff/debuff toons, I do not have any on server L.
If you make server transfers cost 10 bucks, I will never buy one.
If you make server transfers cost 5 bucks, I may buy one or two a year.
If you make server transfers cost 1 dollar, I will buy 1 every 6 weeks or so.
If you make server transfers cost $0.50, I will buy 4 or 5 a month.
If you make server transfers cost $0.25, I will use them like candy, especially if that 25 cents is 20 PPs.
I think more money can be made at the lower price point, on top of more convenience for the players. It looks like a win-win to me. -

Gravity control IS worth taking. For controllers.

Nebulous Form is having its cast time removed to balance with similar powers.

I had a couple requests for updated Energy blaster builds. Here's what I was using until a couple weeks ago when I got my City Traveller badge. The only difference now is I have Vengeance instead of Recall Friend. She uses Musculature in the Alpha slot. I have yet to unlock additional Incarnate slots on this character

Quote:I solod Hamidon when he was bugged to die after being hit once. It was with my energy blaster. The bug at the time had nothing to do with procs or slotting. The Hamidon itself Despawned after being hit just Once. If you could get close enough without dying you would be able to do it with Brawl, but I used an Energy Blast of some kind.I think everything's been soloed in the game at least once - apart from the Hamidon
I don't have pics.
I also don't remember if I got a Hami O....I have a vague recollection that I did, but that could be bogus. -

The Stalker.
Why?
Scrappers don't do Anything better than anyone else. Stalkers do One thing better than anyone else, even if it's not hugely useful all the time. This is a statement of opinion (obviously).
And
Scrapper players are routinely terrible because they don't pay attention to the rest of the team. -
Wow. I didn't read that letter yet apparently, that's awesome.

Quote:Removed the snark for ya.
Overtones aside, it's a fair point, but the final roadblock for a lot of people on mains that already have well in excess of the necessary shards and components (My main has about 58 shards more than she needs to make her Very Rare, and I'm nowhere near the apogee of Shardgatherers) is going to be that 4th Notice.
Yes, it's silly. But then, a lot of what we're doing here is silly, so I don't see how that invalidates my post. It's an absolutely minor thing. I'm not going to set fire to any public structures just because they picked Psyche fourth, but I would have put Sister Psyche like second and made the STF or the Apex the fourth TF.
Fair enough. Just keep in mind: it takes 32 shards to make ONE very rare. So if you ever want a different one (for a second build or specific team or whatever) you might need more shards. Also, it's quite possible (even likely I'd say) that shards will be needed for the NEXT slot as well. -
Quote:Does running Sister Psyche that week prevent you from running STF or LGTF or TMTF in the same week to get the last shards/components you need for your very rare? The only thing that really disappoints me about Sister Psyche being in that rotation is that it's at the place in time where most players will be getting their Very Rares, so your ascension to the highest tiers of the Alpha Slot will coincide not with stopping the vile Lord Recluse in his own nest and Saving the World, bringing down the Invincible Reichsman and his fascist army, or defending the world from a horde of alien invaders, but... by stopping a plot by a bunch of punks with metal spikes and prominent nipple rings to level a city block with what functionally amounts to a giant subwoofer.
Feels somewhat anticlimactic.
It doesn't?
Your whole post is silly?
What? -
Quote:When did you most recently try this on your scrapper? I believe the Panic component of Burn has been removed...I can't agree enough.
I have a level 35 DM/Fire Scrapper and a level 37 DM/Fire Brute. The difference in survivability is appalling, based solely on the Taunt component of Blazing Aura in my Brute. A lot of people might think that I am saying my Scrapper survives more, but what happens in practice is my Brute keeps everything near her. I hit Fiery Embrace, Soul Drain, Burn, Siphon Life (to top up) and then Consume and then another Burn. Most everything is dead. I try the same strategy on my Scrapper and everything is scattered to all directions pelting me with ranged attacks.
I really wish the damage auras had a Taunt component. -
Quote:I actually don't find that stuff grindy myself. I was just trying to portray it the way some people might see it.You know, it's nowhere near as grindy as you think it is. I was on a fantastic ship raid today. Someone announced in Justice United that they'd dropped a pylon, so it might as well be a ship raid. I got into the fourth team, and I'm fairly sure a fifth formed. Lots of crazy fun was had by all, and I came away with five shards and over 600 Vanguard merits, and it was almost entirely spontaneous.
Good thing I needed two more Gr'ai Matter. And who doesn't like a HVAS in your back pocket? -
-
Quote:...reading comprehension...Why are all of the mobs attacking one scrapper? How is this realistic, in the slightest? I've never been in any situation, at any level, where an AT couldn't handle at least some aggro, and by definition, your example means 2 players aren't capable of handling any aggro.
the mobs are attacking the one scrapper because he has a taunt aura...
...right? -
Quote:Scrappers that have Taunt auras have them in order to make their powers work. This is something that seriously annoys me on a Scrapper. I don't have Tanker or even Brute HP or defense numbers. I'm not meant to bear the brunt of an entire spawn. Yet if I use some of my strongest powers, I risk stealing aggro from a Tanker and getting splattered.
I really wish none of the various aura powers for Scrappers had Taunt in them. When I see that Shield Defense or Invulnerability has one of them, I consider that a serious drawback to taking the set.
The Damage auras that some scrappers get (Fire, Electricity, Dark) don't have taunt components.
Invincibility, Rise to the Challenge, and Against All Odds are all pretty worthless without the taunt component keeping the mobs around you, buffing you (and sometimes being debuffed as well). -
Agreed. This is completely Meta. Let's keep it that way.
-
I'm fairly certain a good number of people complaining that the WST isn't wholly geared towards Incarnates have come from "that other game." In "that other game" the high level content is Completely separate from anything before it. Thus giving high level toons in that game ZERO incentive to team up with lower level toons.
The WST Directly combats that. Now level 50 toons will go do lower level TFs Once In A While instead of JUST Incarnate TFs.
And the rest of the time they can go back to farming the ITF (or Tin Mage or Rikti Motherships or what have you).
