Some have plaques at the bottom explaining their significance and some are just... overused (I'm staring at you statue lady with the pointy things coming out of her head.)
They are for decor but I wouldn't mind seeing some of them replaced with something else or at least upgraded/revamped. -
Joking aside, base builders are getting some love and I do think our PvP population could use some love, if not in the form of coding, then in the form of broadcast/Dev commented fights
-
Quote:Oh, no, I would love to hear Dev commentary as I would my digital **** handed to me - repeatedly. Comedy is the best medicine. Then you wouldn't want the Devs commenting.
Zing!
LOLPVPs aside, though, this could be neat.
Here's a visual: I've only ever PvP'ed with my Plant/Thorn dom.
Almost all my slots are on the Plant Control powers.
Now, fire up your imagination on that one. -
I would want to hear it narrated by the Bat-Aeon himself.
-
Disclaimer: I haven't PvPed in about 3 years nor is it a feature I use.
However, I do sometimes enjoy fighting competitions. The Devs do base tours on Twitch TV and it made me think that the Twitch TV platform could be used for the Devs to host PvP tournaments (either teams or one on one) while giving fight commentary.
The Beta or Test servers would have to be utilized, of course.

This is going to be good. -

The template for future content should be what it has always been: originality.
We need a healthy mix of solo/team/incarnate content. -
Quote:In regards to that - CoH is sort of like a fresh slate were there to be a movie. The general public doesn't have an ingrained idea of "what" City of Heroes or how Statesman should be, etc - except maybe for us, the playersdo you really think enough people care about coh to make a movie viable? is the lroe really that deep while at the same time accommodating to people who are not major fans?
[redacted]
Anyway. I think the original CoH is fortunate to have such wildly talented and passionate people working for it that the game will fluidly evolve into new iterations. I do believe with the revamp of Atlas Park last year we can safely say we are at the dawn of 2.0. Or at least waking up to the fact we are in 2.0

Quote:Bases. Bases are the ur example of why they need a CoH2. Let me say this about bases. They're a nice place to store my stuff and they help me get from point a to point b faster but if they disappeared tomorrow I wouldn't really care. The point being they can not touch them. They have said point blank that any attempted change to base would crash the whole (bases) system.

Quote:Maybe once that CoH movie happens...I would hope so too. I know that that is said to be a bad idea, but that is the only way I would move to a new coh game. Besides, coh has done so many untraditional things and still maintained success. I am sure they could find a way to make it work.
...or we had some actual marketing and tv ads... -
I don't think CoH 2 would run along side CoH 1 - it would replace it.
Ideally it would be a new and improved game engine which could handle porting over content from CoH 1 -
I'd prefer if they named them "Not Our Reality #1" "Not Our Reality #2" "Bob" "Not Our Reality #3" and so on.

Criticism is useless if you don't offer a solution or alternative on how to improve the issue at hand. If you're going to tear something apart at least bring something to the table or your critique will just sound like an overgrown puppy tearing up the evening newspaper.

The only time popups are used are for the GMOTD (I believe the / for that is /gmotd) or when there is important bug related news.
-
I approve of the Dark Knight reference.
-
What also helps: Instead of waiting for a team of 8, form one and run missions. I prefer to run newspaper/radio missions (since I hate being sent all over the city (unless it's redside.)) You'll earn more XP when running with larger teams.

*Sigh*
I don't try to explain it - I accept it as a game mechanic. -
The High Popped Multiple Collars - the ultimate symbol of hero coolness. -
Complaints are getting nerfed in i24. Be prepared to start smiling more often.

That's why they are "overwhelming."
