2. If that's a yes, how do I join the crowd?
[/ QUOTE ]
Personally I tend to find Red Commissar acting as the unofficial welcoming commitee. This might be a little confusing for some of the newer heroes due to his thick Russian accent, but highly entertaining regardless. -
Ok, all comments noted and absorbed, only problem i have is i really suck at working out when to slot things. If anyone could re-work the slotting I'd be insanely grateful.
My only problem now is I'm thinking of scrapping Stealth, Flurry and Super Speed, and taking CJ and SJ along with Hasten. Could anyone post a build with those powers please? This is kinda my first toon and I really could do with all the help I can get.
PS: Shockwave is currently used mainly to bunch mobs into a corner so they're all ready for a nice little Evis+Spin combo, a rather handy little chain for when I solo in office missions for example. -
I love my scrappers, I've tried all of the Hero AT's at some time or another, but the only one that i just can't get enough of is the scrapper. (Hell I have 4 of them on my char selection screen and they're all fun)
I find they have power sets to do pretty much anything you like, I use my Claws/Invul main as a semi-tank for when he's in small groups without a real tank, and for solo hilarity you can't beat a Spines/Dark Armour head case, gathering aggro with Death Shroud then popping off Spine Burst is one of the most amusing things ever at early lvl's, you almost finish missions in a few minutes, arrest all Hellions? No worries.
On a more serious note, you say you tend to stop playing them at lvl 8-10, thats not really giving you chance to fully get to grips with the powers or the AT, better to stick with it until the late teens or even to 20, and since the Hollows seem to be the root of your button bashing problem, don't go there, Kings Row and then Steel Canyon works out nicely instead. -
Ok, nothing quite as exciting as the mass herd pic's, but here's a small collection of shots from my RP SG's photo album
Random piccies for your viewing pleasure -
After reading a few posts like this I became slightly concerned that my tanker can't fit taunt into her build until lvl 24 due to the need to fit her travel power and Stamina in. If it was still available at lvl 4 this wouldn't be an issue, but after reading a few replies I'm a tad worried about how easy it'll be to get her into a team before then.

Gonna have to totally agree with Z and Wonka here, granted Luthor wouldn't be phased by getting shot in the head, but the other heroes in the area would have heard the gun shot, turned to see what was going on and seen someone being shot in the face. The natural response then would have been to arrest the gun man, (and in some cases slap him about a bit in the process)
Being told by the person who had just been shot not to arrest the shooter wouldn't be enough to change their minds any, (I know it wouldn't change Ves' he'd probably be trying to cut of the gun mans trigger fingers by the time you managed to stand)
Now I understand that everyone is free to play their character as they see fit, but that the player should also remember that the way they play should not have ANY form of damaging effect upon another character, either physically or behaviourly, without that players prior consent.
By telling people they should not react to you being shot in the head you are breaking that simple rule, which is why people get annoyed.
Just my opinion on the matter, based entirely upon what I read on GGOOC and from people that were there at the time, so give it what ever value you think fitting *shrugs* -
Ok Below is my current planned build, please note that so far Ves is only at lvl 35, so any alterations after that point can be made with minimal trouble, but I'd like some advice and feed back to make this build as good a PvE build as possible, but with the ability to hold his own in PvP once i begin to send him into the zones for this kind of action.

Any feedback is welcome, especially on epic powerset choices, as I only decided to take the Dark set for the look of it. -
I just love watching myself leap into the middle of a nasty crowd of maobs with my Claw/Inv guy, letting rip with Spin and Evis, then mopping up the rest. Gots to love those Crits!!
As for /Regen scrappers, well quick recovery just kicks down time right out the window, constant mauling of mobs is just too much fun to miss out on. -
There's now another Archer/Devices blaster floating about near GG, having the more fun with him than any other blaster i've tried.
3 cheers for small pointy sticks!! -
Try working 4 nights a week, 12 and a half hours a night, then tell me about having game time nerfed, work is the anti-christ when it comes to gaming

Personally i think that both your second and third questions can be explained away with the humble mobile phone. While missioning who'd want to have to stop to answer a phone, step up the hands free kit, the speaker phone option or even voice dialing. (i find these options work due to only ever doing IC missions with people Ves would have given his number to, such as SG members, very close friends etc)
The mobile phone also, as already noted, handles the picture option nicely, many having the ability to take stills or footage.
One option most people don't think of though is Security CCTV footage. A little imagination and there's cameras all over the place, just need to pick up the tape on the way out, dead easy (probably a really good idea for the darker hero types, the kind that wouldn't want footage of them using "excessive" force (what ever that is these days)laying around for anyone to find -
Hmm.... Since Ves is taking a little bit of a time out these days (but you'd know that from reading the Alliance forum wouldn't you Saint??) I've got some free time to play around with a few alts, and i have been meaning to try my hand at a blaster (and stick with it for once, they keep wandering off into deletes ville) Looks like it might be time for a young man from the scumym council estates of Rochdale to make an entrance in Paragon City, I'll give you a shout on Sunday (providing Freya hasn't turned Ves into a pile of ash by then)

Veskit's view on this matter is simple, he fights as hard as he is required to ensure he'll walk away from the situation afterwards. If the criminal pulls out a gun and starts taking pot shots then he'll do everything he needs to do in order to stop the gun-man from giving him a free trip to the hospital, if that means breaking the criminal then so be it.
Excessive force is a variable, in life threatening conditions the police can and will use lethal force, and any criminal stupid enough to pull out a gun/sword/axe/whatever on a hero and try to end their career early is placing said hero in a life threatening situation, therefore alloing said hero to use a little more force than would be otherwise used. I'm not saying kill all criminals, but there's a time and a place for the termination of the target, hell even civilians can be forced into situations of a "kill or be killed" nature.
Veskit has killed, and will again if he has no other options (those Freakshow goons just don't want to stay laid down) but he mainly just snaps his foe's a bit before sending them off to Zig with a smile these days. -
Excessive force seems to be perfectly acceptable with Hero Licensing system.
After spending quite possibly far too much time RPing in Pocket D I noticed a frequently repeated NPC statement, unfortunatly due to having just got home from work I can't recall the exact words, but the general message is that the chalk outlines on the floor were caused when the Back Alley Brawler got a bit rowdy.
Now I'm sure Pocket D has forbidden fighting anyway, so that shouldn't have happened anyway, but to have killed and still be ranked as a hero trainer, shows that fatalities seem to be brushed under the carpet from time to time.
The way I see it, when in Rome, do as the Romans do. Besides, it's so hard to play nice with Claws -
Yet more post-work writing (12 and a 1/2 hours a night is too much time to think IMHO)
This is the second part of the piece, (which was mainly written to allow me to introduce a new toon to GG and explain Ves's recent costume alterations as they are a little more drastic that a new pair of pants)
Part 2
After the girl had vanished in a flash of light, Sialas had hit a few buttons on his wrist mounted teleportation device, suddenly the dark of the streets had exploded in a blinding flash, and feeling a sharp pull in his gut Veskit had the most bizarre sensation of travelling extremely fast, yet without actually moving. As rapidly as it had started the pull stopped, the light dimmed and he found himself in a large steel walled room, it reminded him of the cargo ship that hed visited while assisting one of his contacts back in the city, only this one was in a bit of a state.
The walls, ceiling and floor were scarred with the marks of massive amounts of combat, bullet holes and laser burns were scattered all over, mixed here and there with fist marks, gashes from blades of all kinds, and large blackened areas, probably from fire damage. There were even a few dents that looked like they could have been made by a humanoid shaped object being slammed into them rather hard, and from the blood stained areas of the floor it most likely was.
This looked like a dangerous place to be, so he decided to run a few internal system warm-up routines, just in case, just because he was paranoid it didnt mean they werent all out to get him. Why take that risk?
From nowhere and yet everywhere at once, Campbells voice spoke out to him Welcome to the Rogue Isles Veskit, Id expect you to like it here, survival of the fittest seems the only rule here. Speaking of which, I think its time to explain what I need you to do for me. Sialas paused here to chuckle to himself, evidently enjoying his clever little scheme, The problem with the Veskit nanotech system is the need for a human operator, it leads to unpredictable behaviour, as you so kindly demonstrated. However, pure robotics, now there is beauty in simplicity, they only do as they are told, never suffer any of the human weaknesses like fear, remorse, guilt, pain, fatigue, I could go on, the list is almost endless but suffice to say I went back to the old school line of thought, faster, stronger and tougher machines built for the sole purpose of combat. At this point Id like to introduce you to my newest project, Niloc 6. Do say hello wont you?
He spun round and watched a section of the wall slide away long enough to allow the strange machine through, a little larger than Veskit, but still not all that big, hed fought bigger. Hed almost started to twitch with anticipation of what he knew was coming next when the voice started again, All I want you to do is fight it, simple really, I wish to pit my greatest creations against each other, you are the only person I can think of that could push it to its maximum potential, and I need to know just how good it is before I can start production of a lot more of them for the mass market. And now, let the games begin!
The thing had started running at him as soon as the voice finished, a single blade erupting from each hand in a similar manner to Veskits claws, and then it was on him, arms moving so fast they blurred. Veskit unleashed his own claws and began to skilfully dodge everything the machine could throw at him, then with a smile scarily similar to the one a Great White Shark gives its prey before dinner, he swung both of his arms in a pair of crossed arcs, followed by a savage horizontal swipe at its head. Then he stepped back and retracted his claws.
The robots arms lay on the ground, several feet away, and its head was now in quite a few slices scattered around its feet, and with comical slowness the body lent back and toppled. Not very impressed to be honest, I expected a little more of a work out from you Prof. then he spun, claws out and stared in amazement at the thing on the floor, which had connected all its separate parts with what looked like red lightening and was pulling itself back together again. Within a matter of seconds it was standing again, ready for combat again. This time it was Sialas who spoke out, struggling to finish his sentence for laughing hysterically Seconds out, round two!
That had been seven hours ago, Veskit had lost count of how many rounds there had been since, but he knew one thing for damned sure, he was in trouble, really big trouble. Hed added several new wall dents, some of the robot, mostly of him, and the cleaners would have a fit when they come to clear the blood up. God hed lost a lot of blood today, at first the cuts and thrusts were nothing to worry about, his nanotech fixing him up almost instantly, but now, he was leaning against a wall for support as he tried to get his breathing under control, wounded from head to foot, mostly they caused nothing more than a distraction, his nanotech blocking the pain and stopping the bleeding, but it was beginning to take longer now, and some of the really nasty ones had started to take their toll. The robot just got up each time, as ready as it had been the first time, and it was starting to annoy Veskit a little.
As it stood up and charged again, Veskit pushed himself off the wall with a slight wince, and turned to face it, again. As before it fired off a rapid combination of swipes and jabs, but this time many of them landed, nothing too bad, but that was more work his body could do without. Suddenly the robot smashed him in the face with a fist, stunning him mid counter attack, and then swung a claw upwards in a vicious uppercut.
Veskit spotted it and tried to spin out of the way, but he was running on empty and wasnt quick enough. The claw missed his body by the most miniscule of distances, but its upward swing sliced straight through his arm at the shoulder, severing it in one brutal attack.
For a few seconds blood poured to the floor, before the nanotech halted the flow and started the healing process, although extremely slowly compared to its usual performance, this was going to take days, not hours.
All of a sudden, Niloc 6 stepped back, retracted its claws, and turned walking away, passing Sialas as he entered the room using the secret door which sealed behind him. He strode up to Veskit as he kneeled on the floor, pale in the face from shock and blood loss, even shaking a little as adrenalin pumped through his broken and exhausted body.
So the might Veskit can be dragged down by a mere machine, your reputation is rather exaggerated in my opinion, although your stamina is to be commended, seven hours is a new record, the previous was only four, I guess the healing system is working almost flat out to keep you alive, not too sure if it can handle all that damage for quite some time. then smiling nastily he pulled a pistol from his belt and pointed it at Veskits head, Lets see how long it takes you to recover from this, this could all have been avoided if youd stayed on for the lab, but no, you had to be all heroic and destroy the place, my life was destroyed that night, now I going to destroy yours. With that he pulled the trigger, the bullet hitting Veskit in the eye, knocking him backwards, dead before he hit the floor.
The Professor turned and started walking away, but froze in fear as something illuminated the room from behind, turning he saw Veskit getting to his feet, but this time his armour was activated, glowing with an energy shield.
Veskit? You cant be alive, I killed you! he screamed, firing the pistol at the person before him, every shot hitting its mark, yet none of them slowed the things advance.
Then it spoke, a cold inhuman voice, without emotion or any change in tone, Operator temporarily deactivated for repairs. Defence mode active. Primary directive, protect operator. Hostile entity detected, initiate target neutralisation. Within seconds its claws had emerged, and then it leapt. -
Ok, I decided it was time to add a little to Veskit's life after his return to the lab which resulted in a rather large KABOOM!! a while ago. A number of people asked if the professor would take this action lying down, or if he'd get a little annoyed etc. Once again, any advice will be appreciated (looking mainly in Wordy's direction, as his comments were rather helpful last time) thanks in advance to anyone with nothing better to do than read my post work ramblings, and i hope you enjoy.

Leave us alone! Someone, anyone, HELP!
The scream rang out loud and clear in the quiet night, finally reaching the ears of Veskit as he soured through the sky over Talos Island. His technologically enhanced senses pin-pointing the source of the disturbance, and with all the speed he could muster he rushed to the aid of the caller.
Below he could see a lone young woman surrounded by a large group of Freakshow goons, chuckling to himself as he worked out a plan of attack and put it into action. Dropping out of the sky onto the head of the thug nearest the girl and grinning wolfishly as his claws burst forth, glinting menacingly in the moonlight, visibly scaring the mob.
Looks like you guys have heard of me, thats a good start, guess it means youll know Im not messing around when I say that the last of you to turn and run is going home in parts. Very small parts.
Suddenly a strange shimmering field surged into existence around Veskit, and a quiet applause could be made out over the mocking calls of the jeering Freakshow. And then a familiar voice spoke out in an overly reasonable tone.
Ive got an offer for you Veskit, I think you should hear me out before trying anything foolish this time.
Sialas? What the hell are you doing here? Veskit was a little concerned now, the return of Sialas Campbell was not a good sign.
Well, after your little stunt at the lab did you really think Id just walk away from my lifes work? How terribly naive
Not at all, but I thought you intelligent enough to realise I wont be coming back, and Im sure youve gotten bored of finding bits of bounty hunter in you mail by now.
Well thats where my offer comes in handy my boy. How about a trade of sorts? You come with me, and the girl lives, refuse and Im sure these guys can think of something rather unpleasant to do to her. The balls in your court as the saying goes, but hurry, Im not sure how long they are willing to wait. Campbell sneered with a slight nod to the thugs
How about I just come over there and dismantle the lot of you, then take the young girl to safety? That option is sounding a whole lot more fun right about now.
Not a chance, that field has you trapped, the only way out is with me, 24 hours of your time isnt too much to ask now is it? In exchange for the life of an innocent? After that, Im gone for good, you have my word.
Ok, but only if she gets safe passage to Galaxy City, and I get to give her something to pass on for me, call it a test of faith.
Of course, I didnt want to go to this kind of extreme but you left me no choice. Sort out your little details and well be off, the girl will be teleported to the train station in Galaxy when shes ready, then turning to the girl Campbell motioned for her to step closer to the field and the trapped man inside, Dont worry dear, youll be perfectly safe, I mean you no harm, and I apologise for the treatment you received during all this, I truly am.
The girl nodded and walked to Veskit, desperately trying to avoid his eyes, and hugging a tiny cat to her chest like her life depended on not dropping it Were sorry this happened because you tried to save us, if theres anything we can do to make it up to you when we get to Galaxy City just ask, we owe you that much at least
Veskit just smiled slightly and pulled a small communication device from his belt and pressed a few buttons, Ok, when you get to the station, hit the green key here, and tell the person that Veskit told you to seek them out, when you meet, tell them everything that happened here, and that I might be a little late back into town Then looking to Sialas he nodded, lets get this over with, shes ready to go, and so am I -
I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who read this piece, and give a special thanks to Wordy, for all his fantastic advice, hopefully my next piece will be of a higher standard because of it.
I'm truely grateful -
Wow, tough crowd, but Word has some good points, I really should have clarified certain details, probably should have written up a full back story and posted that as well, might have helped a bit.
The research team is a private company, Campbell Robotics' (named after the founder and creator of the Veskit combat suit) which makes various technological goods from artificial limbs to weapon grade tech such as the suit in question, some of the latter being developed for the military, or more sinister customers.
As for walking in and out of the base with limb and most importantly silent bodies on his shoulder, well a simple method is employed, (checked it out with a former army bud, it's a fairly sound method which is nice) he started from the outside, removing the guards one by one. Once the sentries are out of the way it just leaves the puny lab coat wearer's that have caused so much grief. (looks like playing Metal Gear Solid and Ghost Recon finally paid off)
Hope this satifies at least some of the points, if not, please let me know, it all goes towards improving my writing ability so you won't have to yell at me as much next time, lol (but seriously, thanks for the advice I'm very grateful) -
Thanks for the advice, it'll really help for the next time I write something for this character.
As for getting past the guards etc, this is the base where Veskit has to return for routine upgrades, so his presence there wouldn't have been out of the ordinary. And killing them, he would have loved to after 2 years trapped in a living hell, but he did make a promise not to do so, and there's the whole hero code of arresting people and everything, can't go letting standards slip just because the people you hunt ruined your life. -
Ok, first up, this isn't a back story as such, I never found time to write one up between GG time and generally hitting things.
Secondly, this is my first ever work of pure fiction based upon my character, so any advice and criticism for future pieces will be extremly helpful.
Thank you for reading the fruits of a late night's labor
Veskit's Release
"Put me down, this isn't helping you know."
With a shrug Veskit let the man drop to the floor and waited for him to stand and dust himself off before he continued his questioning.
"Ok now you're down, start explaining. What do you mean you can't turn it off, you turned the damn thing on?"
The man was one of the research team responsible for the creation of the Veskit Mk1 nanotech combat suit, the thing that had held the man now known only as Veskit prisoner for the past two years. And the man was shaking, "The nanotech has kept you alive since you started to use the system, it is now part of your body, it's connected to every part of you, if we turn it off and it shuts down it will kill you, as it's the only thing keeping your heart beating, your lungs working and just about any other organ you name to mention, turning it off will be the same as turning all those parts of you off as well."
The lenses that served for Veskit's eye's began to glow a deep red, "And your point is? You think I want to live like this? I've been in this thing too long now, the contract I signed was for a 6 month test period, that was 2 years ago, I've had enough, either end the test or end me." suddenly the fighting claws burst from the back of the suit's hands, "Or you can take the third option."
"Um, wha, what's the th, third option?" the researcher's eye's darted from the helm to the claws and realised that was a bit of a redundant question
"Well the third option," if only the poor man could see the grin on Veskit's face, he'd have probably soiled himself, he was shaking so much he was almost a blur now, "the third option is I end you, then go find someone that will pick one of the first two options, so which is it going to be Mr.." glancing at the mans security tag pinned to the front of his coat "Richmond, one, two or my personal choice, three?"
"Y y y you wouldn't, you can't kill me, what hope would you have of getting out of the suit if you killed me?"
"There's always more of your team, maybe I should just go with public opinion and decide who to ask next." A chuckle came from the helm, and it wasn't one that sounded infectious, this was out right fatal "Nice talkin' to you, with any luck I'll be meeting you in the next life real soon."
With that Veskit grabbed the man again and pulled back his arm, poised to drive the claws straight through the man head, but as he swung his arm forward, the claws vanished and he landed a heavy, yet non-fatal, blow to the side of the man's head. "That was the tenth one so far, this wasn't going quite as planned, are these people stupid?" he muttered as he dragged the limp body out of the door to the hill behind the base, tossing it onto the pile with the others, oh well, if at first you don't succeed, try, try again. And with that merry little thought Veskit went back into the base to find someone else to talk to.
It didn't take long, a simple trip to the lab where he received his upgrading soon had him helm to face with the man who had designed the suit, Professor Sialas Campbell, a technological visionary, robotics wizard, and if he didn't answer the questions correctly, a limp form in a body bag.
"Ahh Veskit we meet again, it's still a week until your next upgrade session, what brings you all the way out here?"
"You know why I'm here, I want out of this thing, and who better to get me out than the person that put me in it? And before you start I already know that if you turn it off there's a damn good chance you'll be turning me off at the same time, but to be honest I'm past caring, so make with the button pressing and get it over with, or do I have to explain option 3 to you to?"
"I don't think I'll be needing the explanation, but maybe i can interest you in some hot off the press information?", the slight smile on his face spoke volumes
"Go ahead and talk, it'll give me time to think of some really nasty things to do to you if i don't like what I hear, running out of options for originality after playing with your little assistants, so you go ahead and let me know what you know, in your own time professor." and with that he pushed him down onto a chair and then stood with arms folded waiting for what was most likely to be a whole load of bull, but he had time, he had plenty of time.
"The others were right, if we turn it off you WILL die, end of story, however, after your last visit when you asked for us to kill you or get you out, again, we tried it during your upgrade session, and as you can tell, you're not dead. The nanotech won't allow us to shut it down, the AI that I programmed into the system was too advanced, it's now actively running self defence systems for both the user, which is the suit, and for itself, and because of that we can't deactivate it, it basically wants to stay alive, in it's own perverse way." the sound of the claws emerging sounded deafening in the quiet of the lab, the professor started to speak as fast as he could while still remaining coherent "We can't turn it of, but we can get it to partially disengage, we were going to try it on your next session here, but why not try it now, what have you got to lose?" The sound of the claws retreating was drowned out by the professor's sigh of relief as he sagged further into the chair
"what do you mean, partially disengage? Start talking specifics here, What will that do?", And after a moments thought he added "And i want the exact details this time"
"Well, if I'm right, based upon previously collected data, and my own computer simulations, I should be able to upgrade the implant as usual, and this time you'll be able to control the suit's activation and deactivation with a thought, just like the claws, in all the testing Ive done it works, but there will be a period of time after the change during which you'll be unable to reverse the process, and thats the only problem, it could be an hour, it could be several hours, or it could be seconds. It all depends on how the nanotech has interfaced with your body, which is an unknown factor since we can't get data like that without a blood sample or tissue sample, and we can't get those due to the suit's current state of activation. So I leave the choice to you, you'll still have access to the full combat system without the suit, but will suffer more regular injuries and that will slow down the healing systems of the nanotech. But in order to attain peak combat potential you'll need the shell active, you still won't need to eat, drink or sleep as is the case now, but you'll be able to, and the internal systems will metabolise this new chemical input and clear your system with a mere thought."
"Whats the catch? This is sounding too good to be true?" He'd been fooled before, and 2 years inside a tin can gives you plenty of reason to be paranoid
"There is no catch, consider it compensation for the troubles that you've faced during your time testing the system, you'll be keeping the system of course, there's no way for us to remove it, so you get to carry on fighting the good fight as you put it, but we would be grateful if the difficulties we had with the system initially didn't come to light any more than they already have. Do we have a deal?"
"I'll be needing a place to live, some where to call home, I assume that was part of the deal?"
"Indeed, just locate a suitable place for your self and then contact us with the details."
"Ok lets give it a shot, like you said, what have i got to lose."
An hour later Veskit walked out of the main door's of the base, the professor slung over one shoulder, and in his free hand was a small box, about the size of a cigarette, as he passed through the doors he pressed a button on the side of the box, and the silence of the night was shattered by the sound of an explosion, then another, and another, the sounds continued at regular intervals while Veskit walked to the mound of bodies on the hill, dropping the unconscious professor onto the pile he turned to survey his greatest work so far in life.
Flames had begun to billow out of the door, and a cloud of smoke rose high into the night sky, yet more explosions rocked the base as the fires spread to the flammable supplies held in the storage rooms. It's amazing what you can find in Paragon City, nice people, amazing scenery, and warehouses full of Outcasts and their weaponry supplies. Those remote mines wouldn't have gone to good use in their hands, but Veskit had given them a truly noble purpose, this base was where they created the hell he'd had to suffer for 2 years, he didn't know his real name, where he was born, what his mother looked like or even what he looked like anymore, but he did know where he belonged, Paragon City, the place he's come to call home, and now he could begin to really enjoy the place, sample the food, have a drink with friends, and sleep in a real bed, but first he'd need to go shopping, his first set of clothes for 2 years, this was going to take some getting used to. And with an outburst of laughter that was full of unrestrained joy, he leapt into the air and set off to make a new life for himself in the city. -
For Veskit I'd have to go for Wait and Bleed by SlipKnot, purely for the line "inside my shell I wait and Bleed"
Not a very superhero-like tune, but he's being all metaphorical people. -
All I can say is, if Bluestrike is playing tricks on Raoul, he's in for one hell of a rough time, the last time Blue pulled a trick on Veskit she damn near caused a heart attack and a chalk outline at the base of a rather high building, Raoul, you are a braver man than I

Ok, I'd just like to voice the opinion of one of the newb's ( note spelling ) to both CoH and to role-playing.
I happened to pass GG one night, the group of people hanging out and chatting away caught my eye and I decided to mooch on over and check it out.Within a short time the basic "unwritten rules" were blatantly obvious and then it was just a case of joining in at a sensible point.
Now, if there was some kind of rule-set in place, which I wouldn't know of as I'm a complete learner at the game (keep hitting WoW hotkeys and really messing with stat bars, power trays etc, never a good thing)then I'd be more than a little put off by some-one telling me that I'm doing it all wrong and calling me a n00b. Who would want to play in a community like that? Prison camp anyone?
I like the community at GG as it is, I might not know all the skills needed to be a truely great RPer, my spelling sucks for a start, but at least I'm learning about it, which is more than I would had the rule-set been in place.
Thanks for listening, hope it made sense at this time of morning
