I dig the show quite a bit. Definitely on the seriously amusing side of things. Though its a bit weird, for whatever reason this is just funny to me, but i cant stand Batman: Brave and the Bold, which is a bit similar.

And Action Comics is the title concerned with rewriting Superman's origin story while Superman focuses on the here and now. So i maintain my previous comment about wanting to hit Grant Morrison.
-
Quote:*sigh* i want to punch Grant Morrison in the face, repeatedly. The Daily What - Geeks had some preview pages of Superman #1 (I die a little inside every time I think of it as being a #1) up.
Words fail me on just much of a fail it is. Both in Clark's wimpiness and Lois'...well...I don't know what to call it. They showed her "boyfriend". Some blonde surfer/model/whatever d-bag. Really...it was like watching the early years of Smallville when Clark was mooning over Lana. -
I think i'll wait a week or three before seeing it. Let the crowds drop to low numbers before heading out to see it.

Quote:just show the clip of him slapping Joffrey, automatic win. He's facing real competition with John Noble for Fringe (his first) and John Slattery for Mad Men (his third in a row). Although Dinklage is awesome, his standout "I once brought a jackass and honeycomb into a brothel" speech might prove a little ... awkward in a For Your Consideration show reel.

Quote:I love that episode. You mean like this?

Don't like the song? But that's like one of the coolest parts of the show. Anywho, its cool to be able watch the whole thing on netflix.

I'd believe it. Petty crap like this happens all the time.

Does anyone actually shell out the extra money for the 'variant editions' crapped out by the big two?
As to the idea of the launch stuff, it just basically sounds like "frak the history, the writers/editors will cherry pick what they do/don't like and make the rest up." so, pretty much exactly like it is now, only now everybody is expected to write their books the Geoff Johns way.
I should be more interested in the digital initiative, but im not. Its cool for other folks who have readers, but, i'll be sticking with getting stuff from my FLCS. though ive been shopping around for a decent online sub service so i can order the more expensive books online. 2.99 is cool, and grabbing the occasional 3.99 is alright, but when there's more 4 and 5$ books than 3$, it gets pricey. -
Quote:they weren't all that high to begin with. it was when they started adding one ridiculous power after another during the silver age that the writers thought it was time to bring him down a couple notches. Also, kryptonite is far from his only weakness. Ignoring the other weaknesses he's got, he's had the crap beat out of him multiple times. The first time he died it was because someone beat him to death. No kryptonite, no magic, no red sun. Just kept hitting, and hitting, and hitting until the big guy couldnt take anymore. The problem with superman is that they just made him too powerful. It pretty much means they have to lean on the kryptonite plot device over and over. See smallville and that other super hero game. I think if supermans power levels were never so high to begin with it would have been alot easier to write for this character.
He does have his moments when he seems near omnipotent with his power level, though those tend to be special circumstance cases, or just moments of horrible writing. and he doesn't have any more or less of those than any of the other superheroes out there. -

Quote:Second best part of FF. Getting Chiklis for the thing was like casting Patrick Stewart for Xavier. As close to perfect without dragging the character off the page. Watching Thing and Torch rip on one another made FF worth watching. Agree with the rest of your comment though. He was the best of the FF. He was awesome in Losers. I don't really recall SPvsTW as I thought so little of the movie as I watched it (I really don't see the hype of this movie outside of a few funny scenes)./
(Think im the only guy that liked 'Push' though) -
not that they kill the character, but that they keep them dead. or that when they kill a character, they make a decent story out of it. They did, doesnt mean ill bother getting the next iteration of the series, or that im not irritated they did it.

Batman's ride is already cooler.

So Cyborg has even less human bits now? Criminey for some reason i feel like im flashing back to the '90s. *sees designed by Jim Lee labels*
oh... right. -

Quote:I can dig this. I can see not wanting to be the guy the blame falls on if the movie sucks, and not wanting to get stuck being seen as the 'superhero guy' for the rest of his career.http://blog.movies.yahoo.com/blog/16...aptain-america
When Chris Evans was approached to star in a big-budget movie adaptation of one of the most iconic characters in comic book history, he said "No." Repeatedly.
But given the trailers, im happy he took the part. i need to go watch the old reb Brown cap movies in order to bring down my expectations for this movie. -
Quote:Not old? it came out 17 years ago. And by the time they got around to making it, im almost sure it would be pushing 20. So, yeah, its an old flick. Just not as old as some.Talk about unnecessary. The original is not old and is quite good...
But i agree with Bill. The Crow is a simple enough concept to reapply without needing to rehash eric Draven's story. Not fond of them doing a reboot, but as long as i still have my DVDs of the original, at this point, why should i give a damn? i wont be spending any money on it. -
Quote:Was it really that big of a deal they didn't take the simulator? Worse if it had, then the government types wouldve known exactly who to look at once GL showed up. The important part is that upon seeing Abin Sur in danger of drowning, he jumped in to help. Now applying brain bleach to Howard the Duck memories....
Also, would it have been so difficult to have the emerald energy take Hal when he was in the flight simulator as it has always been the case? Granted being in a street is likely cheaper from a budget standpoint but still..... -
Quote:Atrocious? Dirty heathen! Lethal Weapon is one of the best Christmas movies ever, second only to Die Hard!I'm betting that RDJ asked for him based on his experience with Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. I found it hard to believe that the guy who wrote the atrocious Lethal Weapon could create something as amazing as KKBB, but he pulled it off.
Guy also wrote Monster Squad and Last action Hero, so there! -
Cap was always going to be in the Avengers movie.
