Chris Evans did not want to be Captain America but...

I'm fine with Chris Evans. I've usually found him to be entertaining in most of the movies I've seen him in. I totally understand him not wanting to be in "every" comic book movie though. And the pressure of headlining an iconic character movie is totally understandable. I'm glad he accepted; I hadn't seen that trailer on that page before. The Tool music really made it all exciting along with lots of unseen action shots than in the previous ones. I'm getting excited about Captain America now.

Having recently just got back from a rather fun night out, although there is no hangover my thinking cap is firmly seated on my cap stand and as such when I read this I was thinking, why would Chris Evans from BBC radio 2 even be considered for the role of Capt. America ... maybe I need to return to bed for more sleep.

I alsways do that too, I have to keep reminding myself that they are talking about that other, less famous Chris Evans.

Always remember, we were Heroes.

When Chris Evans was approached to star in a big-budget movie adaptation of one of the most iconic characters in comic book history, he said "No." Repeatedly.
I can dig this. I can see not wanting to be the guy the blame falls on if the movie sucks, and not wanting to get stuck being seen as the 'superhero guy' for the rest of his career.

But given the trailers, im happy he took the part. i need to go watch the old reb Brown cap movies in order to bring down my expectations for this movie.

He was the best of the FF. He was awesome in Losers. I don't really recall SPvsTW as I thought so little of the movie as I watched it (I really don't see the hype of this movie outside of a few funny scenes).

Enjoyed him in his other movie rolls as well.

I can see why he wanted to say no. I'd say it was more than the typecasting it may cause, but more of this big name Super Hero and it really is all on him.

Nah, I think that goes to Michael Chiklis as the Thing.

"When we did 'Captain America,' you're the only superhero on set," but when he saw the other stars in their costumes [on the set of 'The Avengers'] it was "the first time I really kind of geeked out."
That sounds really awesome, just thinking of RDJ, Hemsworth and Evens all standing around in their costumes makes me sqee.

I hope they come out with a massive poster for this with all of them in their costumes in the classic poses (mainly just Cap in the middle with the shield raised but whatever >.>) or just go ahead and rip off one of Hitch's awesome Ultimates covers.

Second best part of FF. Getting Chiklis for the thing was like casting Patrick Stewart for Xavier. As close to perfect without dragging the character off the page. Watching Thing and Torch rip on one another made FF worth watching. Agree with the rest of your comment though.

(Think im the only guy that liked 'Push' though)
