i can grok that. but yeah, for some reason joe simon slipped my mind, but him too.

dammit, this makes me want to go reread my copies of the history of marvel and history of DC hardcovers.

HEY! If there was one thing there was plenty of in those westerns, it's dirt! I even remember the day they brought the first barrel out. before that it was just rocks and algae, damn they knew how to invent things in those days.

Wait, what were we talking about?

Stan Lee and Joe Kubert would like to have a word with you.

But keep it quick, it's almost time for jell-o.
  5. *salutes*

R.I.P good sir and thank you.
  6. It had a few giggles, but wasn't nearly as dead on as the Superman HISHE. The scene at the end was funny though.
  7. It looks different enough from Raimi's spider-man movies that i'm willing to give it a shot. And the Mirror's edge style trying to emulate how he jumps across the rooftops is interesting. The trailer doesn't look great, but i do not sense great fail in this, only the frustration of fans that: a)this isn't a Raimi movie and b)they're rehashing the origin story again.

I haven't seen how the lizard looks yet, but if he doesn't look like a deranged Power Ranger like Gobby did, i'll be happy.
  8. Good film, but i call bullkrunk. If mud-covered Ah-nold, and an injured Danny Glover can drop a Pred, then Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow should be able to whomp the crap out of one. Otherwise, cool fan flick.

Generally because Bendis is too busy not writing the rest of the Avengers properly to be able to not write proper interplay between two of his pet characters.

Snark aside, i dug Alias and think it would work well as a TV show. I just hope they keep any other references to the rest of the Marvel universe to a minimum.
  11. Chuck was special, he'd already been exposed to a rough version as a kid, and had to wear the watch to regulate the Intersect. They've already established the Intersect screws with a person's brain, so someone's already carrying the Idiot Ball this season.
  12. Originally, i wouldve just blamed Ratner for the reason X3 was so bad, but after taking a look at some of the other scripts the writer had a hand in, yeah, im worried about a sequel now as well.

  14. Ah, the Batman Beyond suit rebooted by Jim Lee? :P
  15. I actually dug Grimm more than i did Chuck. I found myself facepalming a bit watching it. Yea, im grumpy, but i don't like Morgan with the intersect, and stripping away the lion's share of their resources before they really got a chance to use them just annoys me. Reminds me when they brought in that big storehouse that Chuck's dad had under the cabin, and then blew it up without using anything in it.

With any luck, Dekker will shape up to be a decent villain for the group. 'Cause Volkoff and his daughter were horrible villains last season.
  16. I really want to be excited by Chuck being back, but my enthusiasm is almost nonexistent knowing Morgan has the intersect, and that he may end up with it for the bulk of the season. It makes me glad this is the last season.

You say this like it's something Marvel hasn't been doing for years. Before the Decimation, this is exactly how a lot of the mutant books, and a handful of the rest of the earth based books treated mutants. The paranoia angle was probably at it's highest during the 80s and early 90s. After that, the base flatscans of the 616 generally kept their focus of paranoia on one large gathering of mutants or the other.

The problem right NOW, is that until Hope was horribly shoehorned into the x-universe, the paranoia was no longer that anyone could be a mutant, but that the ones that were left over would strike out at the humans and take the rest of the world down the tubes with them. (among other excuses)

i call bullkrunk simply because while a terrible adaptation, it is awesome on pure cheese factor alone. also, i will not call shenanigans on any movie with Mark Hamil, Jimmie Walker, and Jeffrey Combs in the cast.

ive never liked that movie. Michael York annoys the hell out of me.
  22. The way DC runs things, it'll end up like every other Captain Marvel title, canceled and probably late.

Feel the same about the newest Spider-Man cartoon. The merger ended up killing that and im still torqued about it.

wouldn't knock WotC too hard. TSR was crashing and burning when WotC picked them up. so if not for them there wouldn't have been any other editions of DnD to gripe about.
  25. Never dug 4e as much as i liked 3e. Seemed for every thing they got right (the defenses) they frakked something else up. (magic items) And i hate how they ended up changing the character builder. So im wary of exactly what changes they'll be making with 5e.

Still, as long as i can find people who will play Pathfinder, it does't really matter what WotC does.
