Did you know you used to be able to click on the doors of the train at the station while they were open? Ah, those were the days...
-
Let us craft temp powers for crying out loud. We're getting all these broken weapons, let us fix them and use them! Also, will the base hospitals once again place you exactly where you died ever again?

I'm with you Emerald....the badge should be avaible elsewhere...why because 99% of new people don't know about the badge and by the time they do it's too late. As for the logic it's just another badge....well the same would hold logic to a coin collector because to people who couldn't care less about coins it's just another coin. To the collector on the other hand...it may only be worth a penny, but to them it's their most prized possesion.
[/ QUOTE ]
Except where your logic fails is that, with a coin collector, if a single coin was out of production, and then went back into production, its value would drastically decrease.
The same goes with Isolator...by making it attainable by someone who was part of beta, and on their first character, then the value of Isolator decreases. Just roll up a new badge [censored] and get it...
[/ QUOTE ]
But we want it on our MAIN badge [censored]. Why is that so hard to understand? Why is it that just because you don't care about getting Isolator you think we shouldn't be allowed to get it? -
Positron, please, for the love of all that is sweet and munchy reorder the badges! The helter-skelter ordering of the badges, particularly the Achievement badges, makes it rather difficult to find particular badges.
Also, I heard players report that it's apparently not possible to get Villain on a Hero by being confused in a PvP zone and defeating the Longbow there. Is this true? -

When you're the captain of a team, you've got the authority to punish team members for violations.
If Manticore accepts the punishment, it's because the alternative is to quit the team. When you're a member of THE elite superhero team of the world, are you going to quit just because your leader got mad and sidelined you for awhile?
Of course, now it looks like Manticore may be doing that very thing... Until next month, anyway...
[/ QUOTE ]
That's what I said. Statesman has every right to kick Manticore off the team. But he doesn't have any political standing, and he can't revoke Manticore's hero license. -
I don't think Statesman has the authority to strip a hero of his heroin' license. He can certainly kick Manticore out of the Freedom Phalanx, but I think he's overstepping his authority by telling Manticore not to go out and help folks anymore. Also, I believe that snapping Manticore's bow like that counts as willful destruction of Manticore's property, making HIM the criminal!

As for Accolades and Exemplaring, it might seem unfair that you lose Accolade powers when you Exemplar, but to others it seems unfair that you HAVE Accolade powers when you Exemplar. Since Exemplar is you "playing yourself at a lower level" it makes sense to take away your Accolades. I don't see this changing.

Well, you also said that there'd be no more holiday events, so I guess there's still some hope... -
Also, what's Malaise doing around? He went back to evil months, almost a year ago.

I was in Siren's Call on my Inv/SS Tanker, and my bounty target was currently hiding in the villain hospital. With a full complement of Siren's Call temp powers, I teleported in, and with Stealth and SS I hid in a corner behind some boxes. The NPCs weren't able to see me, but players would. I was hoping to ambush my target as they came out. Unfortunately, a Dominator noticed me, and we began to fight. This luckily lured my target, a Mastermind, out of his hiding. The fight was very long, mostly due to the fact that the Dominator confused me and I kept switching targets. I managed to kill the Dominator, but the Mastermind immediately rezzed them. After a few more minutes of fighting, I'm low on endurance and health, and finally manage to land the killing blow on my target. With next to no health left, I teleported out of the villain base. Luckily the Dominator didn't give chase, because I'm sure they could've finished me off.

What I want to know is if it's a bug that heroes are able to get the Weed Whacker badge. I know several people in game that have confirmed it and I really don't want to waste my time getting it if it's just gonna be taken away later or something.
[/ QUOTE ]
I doubt it's a bug. By and large it seems that the only thing that makes badges hero or villain-only is the opportunity to fulfill the requirements for the badge. I bet heroes could get the badge for killing Longbow by having a villain confuse them in Siren's Call and beating on Longbow. -
[ QUOTE ]
Not only do they spawn alot less than they used to but now that only a few people gain the badge for defeating these monsters, people are very close lipped about when they DO appear. Talk about Counter-Productive and Anti-Teaming!!!
It used to be a community effort to defeat a Monster.... now with the new rules and increased (post-ED) difficulty, a giant monster's arrival is met with secrecy, apathy or outright hostility from those you ask to help
[/ QUOTE ]
Where are you getting this from? It sounds like some paranoid rambling. ED could not possibly be responsible for people trying to keep other people from finding out that, say, Kraken had spawned. -
[ QUOTE ]
2. And a "No" to backtracking for Isolator/Jailbird. Yes, I know some people are completists, but I'm not complaining that some (most) of my toons don't have Toy Collector. Or several don't have Celebrant (for 1 year.) The ones that are unavailable because they showed up somewhere you can't get to now aren't used for anything.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just because YOU don't think we should be able to go back and get those badges doesn't mean we shouldn't. That's very conceited of you to say. -

3) I wish Badges were put into better order or in alphabetical order. Trying to find what badges to need is sometimes tedious.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hear Hear. Any possibility of resorting some of the badges into groups (i.e. putting the 200 collection badge with the others)
[/ QUOTE ]
Why is the badge list so screwed up?
Well, it's not. At least to me.
You see each "Issue" has their own badge list (Ish 2 and 3 are combined, but 4 thru 7 all have their own list). Each list comes after the other one in the badge display order. Thats why newer badges appear towards the bottom of their combined lists.
Now why is City of Villains badges so so so screwed up? That's because CoV also repuposes at lot of Ish 2 through 5 stuff, and thus those badges are on earlier "lists".
Now I have been considering combineing all the lists into one huge, sorted, master list, but the very real possibility of breaking something BIG could come of that. Not something I look forward to doing anytime soon.
Poz could possibly add some limited sorting to the Badge window, but it would be SO limited, it would be almost useless to you (we can't sort by "when you got it" for example, since we dont track that).
[/ QUOTE ]
Forgive me if this was posted already, but when Issue 4 went live the only badge I can remember being added was Kill Skuls, and that appears on the list directly after the Bonesmasher badge, which would put it somewhere in the middle of the Issue2/3 list. Why is that? -
[ QUOTE ]
I find it a little harder to use than Hurricane, as the animation does not clearly show the AoE (granted hurricane's AoE extends a tiny bit past the animation, but so far it has been easier to judge hurricane's AoE for me).
[/ QUOTE ]
Hurricane's visual effect, like all powers, scales with the height of the character using it. As tall character will appear to generate a larger hurricane than a shorter character. However, the area the power affects is always the same. You probably just have a short character. -
I know it was possible to combine Fly and Whirlwind, hold forward and toggle auto-follow, and juggle a mob straight up to the ceiling of a zone. But I can't see how this is exploitative. First, you get no xp for falling damage. It was mainly a coolness thing. Second, it didn't work anymore with ragdoll anyway, because mobs that are ragdolling can't be affected by knockback.

Maybe they're not even aware of Wyvern itself. Think about it, the Phalanx operates in Paragon, but Wyvern operates in the Rogue Isles. Manticore and Statesman are the only ones who have any interest in the Isles; in the Top Cow comics, Positron, Synapse and Sister Psyche didn't even know who Recluse was. That's probably what Posi meant when he said "the rest of the Phalanx." Numina most likely knows, being a mystic, and Statesman probably knows (but doesn't care), and Citadel is probably oblivious like the other three.
[/ QUOTE ]
Doubtful, I remember one happy fun mission in the lower levels where a Longbow agent is funding Wyvern operations in a certain region.
[/ QUOTE ]
Is that Longbow agent a member of the Freedom Phalanx? Just because Longbow is aware of Wyvern doesn't mean all the heroes of Paragon are. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Hey guys,
Manticore funded *and* founded Wyvern. The rest of the Phalanx are not aware of that however.
Carry on...
[/ QUOTE ]
The Phalanx is either purposefully avoiding putting 1+1 together or they are very dim.
If I teamed up with a rich, crime-fighting, super-archer named after a mythical beast who has a certain vigilante attitude and then all of a sudden a group of super-archers appeared who also were named after a mythical beast and who used similar technology and who shared his attitude it would make me say, "hmm" at the very least. I mean how many super-archers are there anyway?
(By "super-archers" I mean archers who can effectively replace a SWAT team).
If Manty wants to be discreet give them guns. And maybe name them something less obvious, like "Manticore's Super-Agent Team*". *not sponsored or associated with Manticore.

The defeat list still doesnt work either and doesnt bother me any lol. Sooner of later you are going to kill soandso. And sooner or later soandso is going to get ya back.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm pretty sure the defeat list is a list of players who've defeated you recently, along with a timer for how long you have to defeat them back and get a bonus bounty for the defeat. I think it does, in fact, work. -

Maybe because it's the truth? -
People have already stated most of what there is to say about Defiance. Namely, that it's mostly useless, kicks in too late, etc. I want to talk about the UI for it. The Defiance bar has clearly been unceremoniously shoved into the display. You can see the borders of the overlapping bars through the transparent parts. The Defiance bar also inexplicably has the same symbol on it as the Endurance bar. And what's with the icon for Defiance in the Blaster's list of active powers/buffs/debuffs? Why does it indicate that it DECREASES attack power?! So, visually: very unprofessional and rushed-looking, especially with the blatant mistake about the icon. I can be nitpicky about icons, but come on, that is just plain wrong.

Ever since I4 hit, Sister Psyche has split from Aurora Borealis. However, Mother Mayhem still looks like an evil Aurora Borealis, and newbies who start playing these days are gonna have no idea who the Praetorian Malaise is supposed to be the evil version of. Also, on a related note, I'd like to make an observation:
Most Primal Earth trainers/TF agents: Good
Praetorian Earth versions of the above: Evil
but
Primal Malaise: Consoled by Sister psyche, but it wore off, so now: Evil
Praetorian Malaise: Never consoled by Sister Psyche, so: Evil
Malaise is evil, and his evil version is also evil. Weird.
At least, that's what I was going to say, before I read the "SO do blasters" comment. Hehehe. -
Yeah, the Striga TF is awesome, but really, I think they should focus less on TFs and more on Trials. I mean, the Eden Trial, oh man, that mission is AWESOME! I want to see more stuff like that mission, devs!

1. Vengeance lasts like any other click, if the player revives Vengeance stays on. My character has both Vengeance and Resuscitate. When someone dies, I rush in, use Vengeance, and Resuscitate them. It's like saying, "Captain Fallingdown, we shall avenge you!" and then saying, "And you get to help!"
2. Vengeance is un-perma-able. It doesn't accept recharge reductions, and I don't think Hasten is enough. Maybe Hasten with a Kinetics Defender/Controller using Speed Boost on you would be, but not Hasten alone. However, it does accept Hamidon/Hydra/Titan origin enhancements that boost Def/ToHit/Recharge, and those MIGHT reduce the recharge, but I'm not sure.
