While it wont help until later, and it is on a long recharge, Leviathan has water spout, which has pretty good defense debuff. Sure, it isnt up all the time, but most foes arent hard to hit. You can save water spout for times when fighting high def or difficult foes. So /dark can get at least some -Def help.

The 8 hour 2x one had a price exactly double what I thought it was worth, so I didnt buy one. Wanted to, but didnt.
Lewis -
SLooks like, based on a Synapse post just a few moments ago, that we will be looking at about a 50% chance for high recharge builds. If I understood his post correctly. Which I may not have.
Lewis -
So can we have a Null the Gull option to ignore recharge buffs?
"Don't boost me, bro!"
Lewis -
Looks like the other five places you posted this got mod-deleted but comments werent merged, so I will respond again.
1) I strongly dislike the theme. The powers dont bear any thematic similarity other than shapes, and that shape encroaches somewhat on FF and Sonic.
2) Do we really need another do-everything set? This set is overpowered based on even the revised numbers, and in terms of flexibility.
3) why would anyone want to play empathy or sonic or ff ever again?
I find it frustrating that this got dev attention at all, considering the limited scope of some of the older secondaries. Some of the individual ideas are ok, but this Orbs of Uberness set is just a bit much.
Lewis -
Sonic is a massive end hog. Its too bad you wont be using IOs. Sonic controllers can make some cool builds. My fire/sonic is capped to ranged def, aoe def, and has really strong resists, especially to smashing / lethal.
Anyway, lots of end reduction, and pick your fights carefully. Maybe team with a melee character for some addes safety early on.
Lewis -
I love force fields. I have 300 levels in level 50 force fielders alone.
Some of them are controllers, but still. Love it.
Lewis -
Cold would be nice on a mastermind. For me, I found Cold effective but so boring. Supremely boring. Getting a Fire/Cold controller to 50 was the second most boring I ever made, my level 43 earth/cold (deleted) being most boring.
But masterminds never bore me. Especially thugs. I think thugs/cold would be so fun. I think merc/cold would be too, due to not ever having to see their drab uniforms again, thanks to the shields.
Lewis -
Just because she is omnicient, you dont have to be super reflexes. Her personality could also allow her to know the hit is coming, but she pushes through anyway. Willpower seems to fit well. And if she is like a natural disaster, give her some Mu AoE damage.
I have an energy melee / willpower / mu brute at level 50, and he is pretty fun and quite tough.
Lewis -
Sam,
No worries man. Emotion is hard to convey and hard to read sometimes, in text. I wasnt put out, and I do the same thing when soliciting help. I was just trying to be funny / joke-y. Its all good, for sure.
Lewis -
D_D,
You would be thirding demons/time.
Sam,
Since we are now getting to the point where you knew you were going to make a brute all alonglet me switch gears to mechanics. Lightning rod on a brute is a pseudopet with brute modifiers and no fury: translation is "low damage". The single target attacks are also low damage. I am not even a player who normally minds low damage. Ive played my share of low damage ice and earth controllers. But I shelved my elec/wp brute around level 40. Madenning.
I suggest either an electric melee stalker for the better damage, OR as someone else suggested, titan weapons/willpower brute with that cool 9 foot beam of quasi-flame energy.
Either way, enjoy!
Lewis -
I like the old blue contacts. Love them, in fact.
/unsigned, with anger
Lewis -
I would do Staff/Dark on a Brute. You could cap all positions on defense (i believe) and still have all of Dark's amazing powers, plus you would have fury with a damage aura.
I would also do Staff/Ice on a Stalker. Better single target damage thanks to Assassin's Staff, plus /Ice has an incredibly well-rounded toolset. I already had Elec/Ice though, and STJ/SR, so I went with /Energy Aura for the same reason: it has several tools other than simply defense.
Lewis -
The problem with a dark/dark brute is that its kinda low rent. I mean, melee characters dont work in the slightest, frankly, even as a fragmentary aspect. Not of the being you have described. I have to say that "punching things in the face with Darkness, because I am evil, but slumming it" just doesnt cut it. Thats minion work, for one of her lieutenants.
If you want your powers to match your concept, that concept, you have to go with masterminds, controllers, or dominators. Maybe certain corruptors like fire/dark.
Otherwise, just accept that your melee AT options are a mismatch, and an excuse, and a placeholder for greatness and that you just want something as a tourist in a dress wearing a "Hello, my name is Praxis" sticker on there while you drive to 50.
Or get on the "fundamental powers of the universe" bandwagon and make a real goddess (mastermind, controller).
Lewis -
In response to demons being too biblical, that depends. You could certainly take the view that demons are non biblical and that abrahamic religions with demons are just tacking their own lore onto something that was already around.
Also modern depictions of devils and demons come less from the bible and more from the imaginations of writers such ad Milton, and other later church musings. And plenty of other religions have stuff not unlike demons.
Plus, even "biblical" demons may be mere servitors of a greater entity.
Lewis -
Before reading anything I was planning to say Illusion/Storm controller.
After reading the limits, I would have said super strength / electric brute. I would have warned you away from electric melee unless you were a stalker because the single target damage is so slow.
But reading the back story, I guess it would have to be a mastermind. Demons or Necromancy would work best. Demons are more powerful. I woud suggest Demons/Time. The primary reflects "her" nature, and the secondary seems to be something an imprisoned meta-god would want to master, in order to have one or more of its shadows/reflections erode the boundaries of reality in order to fascilitate her freedom.
So, yeah. I recommend Demons/Time.
Lewis -
On occasion, my friends and I do a form of griefing that involves powerset conflicts.
For example, all four of us had illusion/storm controllers, so sometimes we would team up and then invite scrappers and tanks to our team. With all the knockback and repel and wild storms ... well at least the melee guys got xp.
Ive run with a buddy once or twice in a pug where he and I used our single target intangible powers on stuff. But that was years and years ago.
But I never take it too far. I try to keep it in the "not sure if serious" level of awkwardness. Nothing overt.
Lewis -
I still take placate at 12. Its useful and fun. Ever since inherent fitness, I have not had to delay powers much on any characters, so I go ahead attacks, defenses, and placate, as soon as they appear for the most part.
Lewis -
Just tint your ice armor colors to dark blue or dark purple and youll barely notice it, especially when hidden, but even when fighting. I guess people have diff thresholds on visuals, but color tinting did the trick for me.
-
Local Man did mention it, but no harm mentioning it again. Its a good set.
Lewis -
Thanks for the replies! I will let him know.
Lewis -
A free to play friend, who has unlocked controllers, wants to try elec/time, but he was wondering if he can buy the set in the Paragon Market, Or can it only be accessed via subscription?
Thanks,
Lewis -
All,
Not that its really that hard to figure out how to build a /Super Reflexes character or anything, but I just wanted to share my stalker build. This is exactly how he is slotted on live. He is a monster. No, he doesnt have aid self, but since my defenses are all 58.5 or 59 without any incarnate powers at all, and since when Hide is running, even when most of its defense is suppressed, my defense numbers are all 60.5 or more, well all I need are a few greens.
Anyway, I liked this guy so much, and he is my first Stalker of significance. So I wanted to share his build.
Thanks,
Lewis

I love my Street Justice / Super Reflexes stalker. Yeah, he doesn't have all the cool tools that other secondaries have, but he has fantastic defenses, and he is a lot of fun. My build has 58.5% to 59% to all positions, not including Hide, and not including any Incarnate stuff at all. With Hide running, even when I'm attacking and it is partially suppressed, my actual defense numbers are around 60.5%. So I am pretty much golden there. I currently run Cardiac Tier 1 in him, but thats all so far. He isnt even endurance heavy, I just snagged it because it was quick.
Anyway, here is his build.
