Staff Fighting Has Come!

Just bought Staff Fighting from the Market, and currently still hesitant about which secondary to use for my Stalker. I've played two Stalkers with Ninjitsu and love it, but the talk about Ice Armor has gotten me interested.

So the question is....Is Ice Armor THAT good compared to Ninjitsu?

(Ugly set, ugly set, ugly set....)

I just made a staff/ninjitsu stalker and ran it up to 10 street hunting in atlas & hollows. So far so good, but I'm a bit concerned that I might run into END issues later on.

I was strongly tempted to make an Staff/EA stalker instead, but went w/ Nin at the last minute for no real reason other than it felt right.

Ice Armor looks so tempting, but a) I struggle to come up w/ a good concept to fit it for most sets, and b) it really is just so very ugly...I really don't want to have to look at it.

Just tint your ice armor colors to dark blue or dark purple and youll barely notice it, especially when hidden, but even when fighting. I guess people have diff thresholds on visuals, but color tinting did the trick for me.

Rolled an ELM/ICE stalker the other day...he is in low 20's and I am loving it...it really is THAT good. My build will have incarnate softcapped S/L/E/N...and F/C is not too far behind...plus good DDR.

Currently Playing:
Rage King - SS/Regen Brute (50+3)
Soulfire Darkness - Dark/Fire Tank (50+2)

I think Ice Armor has more potential than Ninjitsu. I think Chilling Embrace alone is worth it. It's a good way to debuff and keep enemies closer which helps you finish them off easier.

Damn it.. my beast/time is still lvl 38. gah..now I need to make another new toon!

My dark/dark controller is still 28!!!!

The work is piling up... T_T

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

Mmmm, Staff has parry type of power that increases your lethal/melee defense.

I don't know.. I really like ice armor but I may try electricity armor this time.

Guess I can look past the UGLINESS and just enjoy it. Gotta say, Staff Fighting is amazing! Love it, though the AS sound FX is pretty weak. Sounds like I'm just poking someone gently with it.

One question....Was it a mistake to start him in Praetoria?

Not if you haven't enjoyed the content there yet.. may be hard to find a team. lol

Since when did we Stalkers ever need teams? Now, it's more like teams need us!

I like to team with my stalker because I want that team criticals! But you are right, you can solo quite well but don't you feel lonely sometimes? :P

Lonely? Hah! No such thing when you're the star of the show, landing criticals here and there and watch things just drop! It's funny how Scrappers can do crits, yet we have the same base chances, but we land ours more frequently.

But teams are fun....For when I want their jaws to drop as I single-shot minions into oblivion (KM's AS is really, REALLY fast).

Got to level 25!

Not as high as I was hoping to get, but work and needing sleep for work.

Set is lots of fun (imo of course) though I'll still havemy namesake return to Dual Pistols when they get improved. >_>

Just at level 6 with my Staff Fighter. I actually like it a lot, but the AS sound FX really needs improvement. It sounds seriously weak, and the damage delay is messed up.

Stalkers have a better base chance to crit than scrappers. 10% vs 5%, so they'll crit twice as often before any other factors are considered. Combine that with the ability to crit at will via Hide, the ATO proc in AS, and Placate and it's no surprise that stalkers land more crits than scrappers.

Considering Staff/SR myself, but I'm not sure what AT I'm going to use yet. What I said in this post is a strong point in the favor of stalker.

Staff / ELA is a very strong set if you cap to S/L. Take Shadow Meld for extra icap goodness.

I love Ice Armor -- have an StJ/Ice.

Just rolled up my very first Stalker... I think it's the only AT I've never played at all. Staff/Nin and we'll see just how The Hickory Stick pans out as he matures.

Now the question is do I level the Stalker, the 36 Dark/Time controller or finish incarnate on the StJ/Inv scrapper...

A friend and I both just hit level 50 recently with out Staff Stalkers. I went the Dark Armor route and my friend went for Ice Armor. It's pretty safe to say both secondaries are amazing. My friend can take it longer than I can when Icy Bastion is up (but not by too much), but when his Icy Bastion is down he has a little trouble, still not much though. My Dark Armor is pretty great as well. I highly enjoy the combination of Cloak of Fear with AS to stack the fear. Nothing is better than seeing bosses tremble in their boots . Also, Dark Regeneration with the Theft of Essence Chance for +Endurance is amazing. Two mobs is all it takes for the ability to heal me fully. Not to mention Dark Regeneration recharges in less than 11 seconds.
