Btw, what are the raygun pistols for? Dual pistols?
Or are they going to alter the Beam Weapons animations for use with Pistols?
I secretly hope they develop animations for using them with blast sets. Me want a freeze raygun, and a gun that shoots arrows!

I def want "loose" natural tights a la golden age and/or those overweight alex ross justice league paintings. Loose tights for golden age old school, yo.
Also, how about a version of simple shiny leather boots like the ones we have now, but without that ridiculous boot seam on the back of the boot? And a big thick (tall) metal belt, like the Champion boxing belt but with no championship part. Just something like the back of the champion belt that goes all the way around?

Oh, goodie. An excuse to make a list. He started it! I swearz!
After looking at my free slots and my existing characters, I plan to make:
Dark/Storm
Dark/Force Field
Dark/Rad
Dark/Time
Dark/Dark
Dark/Energy (Dominator)
Also, I will remake my Egyptian King (poisoned by his sister) vengeful spirit guy as a Dark/Poison controller, since it fits even better than Illusion/Poison.
As for other new powersets, I plan on earth/dark controller, fire/dark controller, illusion/dark controller, fire/dark dom, and staff/sr scrapper.
I22 will keep me busy!

Thanks. I will prob get the Cupid bow. However, out of 100+ alts, I dont have even one Roman concept character. Its just not my thing.

When you purchase only the bow, does it become aavailable to all your bow users on that account? Or does a specific character have to claim it?

I think a Plant/Earth Dominator could work well.
Plant gets Seeds of Confusion, which is up every fight, and it dramatically increases safety and soloing speed, so long as you dont over-reach.
Earth Assault is very melee oriented and stompy.
You might also try plant/ice. It also has a couple of melee/post-seedsofconfusion aoe options that work at medium and close range.

Well, solo defenders do +30% damage, and sonic has a resistance debuff in the attacks, not to mention a fat cone sleep and a single target stun. I would think /sonic would be about the best option for a solo empath.

I plan to make Illusion/Dark, Dark/Dark, *and* Fire/Dark. So it is all win to me.

Gravity/Trick Arrow would still be a great option with a friend playing Fire/Traps. Wormhole guys into your zone with trip mines, seeker drones, oil slick, disruption arrow, ffg, acid mortar, trip mines, etc and then throw an acid arrow on them. It would be a truly wicked kill zone.
Too bad controllers dont have traps. Grav/Traps will be a constant giggle-fest.If/when traps comes to controllers, you guys could make dual grav/traps and play together.

I counted my levels on characters that are level 32 or higher and ignored everything else. My earlier guess was close in the top 5, but I had some surprises (wrong memory) about my other tops.
My top 20 sets, starting from #1, based on levels:
fire control
storm summoning
earth control
super reflexes
force fields
dark miasma
super strength
kinetics (the buff/debuff set)
illusion control
fire assault
willpower
empathy
sonic resonance
energy assault
gravity control
trick arrow
thugs
plant control
thermal
ice control -
People will always play sets no matter how awful they are by comparison. So illusion and mind will be fine.
Seriously tho, hyperbole aside, darkness control is a beast. I have never seen its like before.

I like Earth/Kin controllers.
However, if you can wait until the next issue, I would recommend the new Dark Control with kin. A dark/kin controller should be a fantastic mix. Fearsome stare will let you use your kin powers in safety, and the immobilize is of the higher damage variety, meaning that AoE immob + siphon power + repeat ad nauseum + single immob and hold slotted for damage ... will make levelling up nice. -

Well, I dont actually like trials, so I was really concerned about general missions and street sweeping solo with no aid self in the new Dark Astoria where 59% is the cap. I may have to pass on it. But I will give it a try I suppose.

My incarnate experience is low. I have a single +2 controller, and about three more +1 controllers. Thats it. With the incarnate-level Dark Astoria zone changes coming, I have to wonder about something.
How do pure defense sets, such as super reflexes, deal with the fact that 59% or whatever is the new defense cap? I remember when my scrappers were 10% to 15% below the cap, and it was a time of misery.
I can see SR tankers being able to get closer, and I have designed trapper defenders on paper who hit 60%.
But the idea of taking my SR scrappers into Dark Astoria makes me regret my preference for defense characters. What is a good solo solution?

I make a LOT of alts. But I always come back to certain ones. From most frequent to tenth most frequent (and the bottom of the list is still used often):
Storm summoning
Fire control
Earth control
Super reflexes
Super strength
Force fields
Illusion control
Willpower
Traps
Energy assault
I guess that makes these my favorite sets. I keep coming back to them.
It will be interesting to count my characters, weight by level, and see if my belief above matches the facts. -

My favorite concept character I made is Ghost Nemesis. He has the mutant ability to see, control, and absorb ghosts, using their energy to give him great power and strength. He is a super strength / energy aura brute. He sports the ghost aura. His constant exposure to ghost energies makes some ghostly properties affect him too. That is why he is hard to hit, invisible, and can drain people (/energy aura).
At first, he couldnt control his mutation, which had the negative effect of ghosts entering his body and controlling HIM. So he was a villain early on. After he learned to control his mutant power to absorb/control ghosts, he became a hero and switched sides.

I am not that upset at the loss of the Cone Fear, tho that is a great power. I am more sad about the loss of the single target hold. Still, if Dark Affinity still gets Darkest Night, Tar Patch, Twilight Grasp, and Dark Servant, then I guess I will still find it satisfying.
Is that on beta? I guess I should go look!
