Heh, you know, I think things are improving on the forums. I could not care less about what other game someone is playing. For me, the purpose of the forums is for the distribution of game related information and the planning of events. Having to go through all that junk is what keeps a lot of the "casual" players from making their presence known in the forums in the first place.
The facts of the matter are :
1. Summer time - vacations, beaches, etc.
2. Economic downturn - during hard times like these, some folks will choose to eat rather than pay big bucks for an uber video card, high speed internet and an MMO.
3. I think a lot of folks just quit until the next release of new material. They learn that stuff, quit and wait for more.
So, be patient. And please, don't encourage the posting of useless information. My search-fu is weak enough as it is. -
You know, I've been playing this game off and on, and I never knew that. I always used a bind for the second and third rows. That way I only have to press one key instead of two.

I just did the first of two mission on my arc after it was published. The map was large, I was set to +1/1, fighting bosses when solo. I've done other arcs and notice that sometimes I get a ton more tickets.
How do they select the number of tickets to award for mission completion? Seems to me that when a player is done with a mission, he should get 540 tickets, assuming he defeated the whole map. I got 55.
Anyone know how this award system works? -
I've got to say that I'm more inclined to transfer TO Infinity rather than away from it.
And with GR, there will be more opportunities to help and/or team with some of the returning player base.
That being said, I do understand the reasoning behind moving dormant 50's to another server to make room for slots. I know I could never bring myself to delete a 50 to make room. -
I'm certainly no expert, but I'd suggest more than 2 support toons on the scrapper
team(s). When there are two, that still leaves a good deal of room for bad timing. Casting animations take a little time. Even though an emp might see a need for heal other, if clear mind is being cast, there may be a 2 to 3 second delay. These seconds can be critical. If one scrapper goes down, that creates an ugly gap in heal/buff casting, as the resurrection animation is a timely one. I'd advise going with Matt's suggestion of 4 IF the defenders/controllers are available.
Many players have the support toons in their accounts, but choose not to bring them as the scrapper or blaster role is seen as easier to execute.
Those are just my thoughts; nobody asked me, but I wanted to throw it in anyway. -
I'd like to get this on my ice/ice/ice blaster, too. Unlike Fitz, I'm only your run of the mill average player, but I do play the ice blaster better than I play my stone tank.
-
I'm not sure where I heard/read it, but I thought we got awarded some tickets when people played our arcs. Is it some tiny amount? One person has done mine, rated it a 5, but I haven't seen any tickets. (nice badges, though)

"Agro Team 2 - 6 Tankers, 2emps with taunt slotted with some range IO/SO/ enhancements."
Matt, you know I've gone on record singing your praises. However, as an empath, how am I going to get Taunt slotted?
I missed the raid today on account of work. But, I'm please to read of the success you all had. And you're 100% correct, everyone in the hive should be proud of the success. It's a team effort. All the best strategy in the world by one hero isn't going to succeed for long. -
As far as I'm concerned, you're a significant part of what got Liberty off its keester.
Real life gets in the way of the fun sometimes. As for me, I've had to work this past Wednesday, and just got in for MSR on Infinity, and following that, MSR here on Liberty.
Hazy, it's a creditable thing to create a survey. I'll take it now. Look forward to the results. -
Thanks to you both. I'll look into the Gift of the Ancients. It hadn't occurred to me to look over specific IOs to address the lack of speed with the stone tank.
-
Can anyone confirm that ninja run works while rooted on a stone tank?

I think you guys must not have a Daylight Donuts in your area....

I have to admit, I haven't been to warburg in a very, very long time. The event was half way over before I realized I was targeting heroes. I'm pretty sure some of my AoE during the blizzard I dropped probably messed with hero and villain alike. My apologies, I just wasn't paying attention.
There was one thing I couldn't get out of the event. What was the purpose, if no badge was given? -
I feel compelled to share my experience on the successful MoKTF this past Tuesday. (I think it was Tuesday. Working the midnight shift as of late has my brain tied in knots and it wasn't that nimble to begin with!)
Matt has a gift for, at a minimum, appearing to have patience. Behind the keyboard, he might be swearing and throwing his mouse across the room, I don't know. On our Mo Kahn TF, there were a couple of toons that didn't know the best strategies, nor were they optimum builds or part of what I've always called the "Elite" of Liberty - the folks with two monitors, side by side, always soft-capped on defense, maxed out on the finer recipes and more importantly, a brain that just soaks all the information that has been presented to them since this games launch, or since they started playing. The folks that just "remember" where the mission door will be, even though the mission hasn't posted yet. They've done it several to many times and certain details have stuck with them in a way that seems to elude the rest of us. Oops. I digressed.
Matt did a stellar job of leading myself and 6 others to a successful conclusion. He was a step ahead of the events within the series of missions the whole time, and passed on things to expect, and in some cases places to stand for best results.
He even told the tank where to keep Reichsman busy while the rest of the team tackled the other AVs as they came out. (and we knew when to expect them if we were unfamiliar with the HP % of Reichsman that triggers their spawn)
If you're a casual player and you want (do casual players read the forums?) to finally succeed in MoKTF, ask for Matt to help you.
Not sure what he does in real life, but I suspect something more significant than video games are in his future. -
Quote:I think this further illustrates a previous point that was made, and one that you, GEL, reiterated. "Relearn".At that point, some odd behavior overtook everyone and chaos ensued, we were never able to launch a coordinated attack against Hami after that.
I'm sure I was not the only person who had been gone from the game since prior to issue 9. And I'm glad of it!
First, let me thank the Sisterhood collectively for getting the ball rolling, and you GEL for being the impetus behind that ball.
Still, by design I'd say, this is a server event. If there are successes, the credit goes to those that were in the hive, contributing - and those that helped with monster mash parties prior to the actual raid.
And if the raid should ever fail, we won't worry about placing blame, just solving the problem. (especially since if it's my fault)
I learned a great deal from the "training/relearning" exercise. I learned never to follow a scrapper team into the goo without proper status protection and to quit being cheap and go ahead get a few IO sets that will help with global recharge speed.
I'm sure many of us learned some things. Maybe even some lessons that would apply to everyday life. Hmm. Food for thought. -
Hey, all very useful information.
Now, I have a tip to share. Park the emps in a PvP zone for boosted recharge of 7.5% (you know the drill, the longer you're parked there, the longer the buff) -
Yep, chat servers are down. Didn't realize how much I use those channels until they're gone.
-
Greetings, all.
I logged off around noon(central), all was well.
Logged back in around 5 hours later and both of my accounts are no longer part of any chat channels. Did I make someone mad? (doubtful - my second account has never teamed or chatted with anyone, only belongs to public channels.) -
Thanks very much. Advice from the Catwhoorg is typically good enough to have paid for it. I'll take your suggestions.
Thanks also to Dr. Mike and Pinkpup as well. -
For me, the attempt on Hami was a win.
When I read through the broadcast chatter and saw "reduce graphics to Horus", well, we could have stopped then and I would have been happy.
I shall now borrow some tips from another poster whose name escapes me.
On uniforms/costumes - to reduce lag, go to icon and select None everywhere there is a choice to do so.
Go bald on the hair or choose a helmet.
Lose the capes.
Lose the auras.
No need for chest details or things of that sort.
As far as color goes, maybe select the color based on your ATs icon.
Defender blue, scrapper yellow, blaster red, tank grey/silver
Most importantly - pay attention.
I saw PBAoE buffs on my teammates prior to goo entry before they were called for.
My own 2 cents:
I think alot of folks didn't realize that Hami is supposed to spawn at 75% and WILL spawn at 75%, 50% and 25% regardless of held condition. There seems to be a good number of returning players who were unaware of the changes or unfamiliar with them.
Spamming these changes before commencement will be boring and tedious, but perhaps necessary. Perhaps not. Not my call to make.
I've got an empath defender, ill/rad troller, spines/regen scrapper or ice blaster available, depending on what is needed more. (assuming empath presently) -
Yes, I'm quite late in this thread.
This is the only place I found where this suggestion might be placed without offending certain nitpickers.
Could there please be a hero analyst within the contacts/computer terminal area for difficulty adjustment? Some arcs are simply too challenging for my typical PvE settings because of the custom power selections. I would prefer to scale down the challenge settings without traveling across a zone to do so. Maybe they could give us a mission and we could call them to make changes... or simply have one in the AE building. Call them an arc Calibrater if you like, doesn't really matter. Just my suggestion. -
My first 50, an Emp/Elec defender has stayed dormant for about 4 years. Friends in game have told me that they had run across some less than stellar empaths on our server. (funny how we remember the bad experiences so much more than the good ones)
So, I dusted him off - and brought him to the hive.
I won't go into build specifics - I can do a planner to get all the numbers. I just wanted to know if the crafted non-generic IO sets are worth the effort of me playing the market and earning merits.
For a post issue 9 raid to succeed, it seems that there are buffs galore - why bother for a minor percentage improvement that to my ignorant eyes seem insignificant? Especially when raiding on my server is not being done on a regular basis - yet.
I will slot this character with purple sets - when I'm done with the other toons that I will play much more often - but in the meantime, do you think the mitos and hamidon are going to notice a 3% mez resistance? (3 percent of the time, maybe they will)
Just looking for feedback, no build suggestions. If there is someone who has played an emp on the scrapper team enough to feel comfortable chatting about it in game or through PMs on the forums, I'd appreciate it. -
Schedule has been posted at work, I'm off. If they change it, I'll still be free at that time. I might be tired, but put Ukase Rex on for any of the Mo's at 430pm, Eastern.
Thanks -
To be honest, before I came back, I rarely teamed. Maybe to get help with the Psi-clockwork king, touch glowies simultaneously.
With the changes to the game, and I guess, the changes in me, it just seems better to team. I still solo a good bit, because I can't imagine anyone suffering through an ouroboring arc without enhancements along with me.
And, I've got odd times to play and then I get yanked from the keyboard for other things that just make for bad teaming.
I am still amazed by the overall knowledge of the playerbase, compared to when I played before. Liberty is still a great server. Bought 5 more slots! -
I sure wish I had taken a video of AV's pajama gram wishing Steele a Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday, Steele!
