As to the statement that TH is just as good as Weave, Weave provides +Def to All (including positional), TH provides +Def to all but Psionics (not including positional). But TH more than makes up for that by being auto and endurance free.
Well never mind then. Extra 5%-8% defense!!!

Keep in mind that Unyielding has a -5% def debuff which is filled by Tough Hide. So it's worth taking just for that if nothing else.

    Tough hide..?

I would take Hand Clap if it just did knockdown like Foot Stomp, or did disorient, since it's another AoE attack that can build more aggro. However as it is now, I will never take it.

Or better still if it was actually a damaging attack without any other side effects, maybe minor or moderate damage.

But knockback? No. There is no situation where I would want knockback. If you say there is then you are just a Hand Clap fanboi who is making up desperate stories to vainly try to justify this useless power.

But yeah, take Tough Hide. It's an auto power that doesn't use end.

Same with Hurl, which also does knockback. I would rather go with Energy Mastery and get Laser Eye Beams as that does -def and is much quicker animation wise.
  4. Why would you bother slotting Boxing? It is a throw away power. I would focus on the KM attacks to get the best use of Power Siphon. Same with Air Superiority. Sure Knockdown is nice, but it doesn't feed Power Siphon. With KM any power that isn't using Power Siphon seems like a waste.

You also one slotted Quick Recovery and Fast Healing. Given that most of WP is regen based, I would think it more critical to get Fast Healing early and to at least 3 slot it. Same with Quick Recovery. Drop Torrent and boost these two powers. Ditto for Health & Stamina.

And as a tank you are taking your defensive powers way too late. Rise to the Challenge at level 32? That's your taunt aura and a big bulk of what will keep you alive. Get this power as soon as you can.
  5. Fingers for sure.

Edit: Yeah, no more war walls, except perhaps around Terra Volta and maybe some hazard zones. I'd much rather prefer how things are in Praetoria.

And windows in SG bases looking out to whatever zone you want.

And as has been said before, WASD has better access to the beginning of the number row, on which the majority of people arrange their biggest/best/fastest attacks.

And for those who advocate ESDF instead because then "your fingers are on homerow", I am 100% touch typist (this is what happens when you are on computers for so many years) - and it takes me half a second to move my hand from WASD to ASDF for typing.
But this is the normal position when one is typing, you know, normal homerow placement. I'm not getting how it is so painful (unless you have a disability). That means that normal touch typing is painful and awkward for most of you.

Granted I do have large German hands and hate how my hand is all squished together with WASD. I usually make F for my travel power, keep my toggles on the number row and use the number pad for all the other powers. I find using the number row for attack powers way too awkward. I'd rather have (for me) the more natural and easy movement with my left hand and hit attack powers with my right.
  7. I can never understand why people use the WSAD instead of having forward be D, back be C, turn right be F, turn left be S and then have strafe be A and G like I use. This gives you a more central position on the keyboard so that you can branch out from the center for other controls as needed. Plus all your normal movement is on the homerow where your fingers naturally are anyway.

The WSAD pattern gets you cramped up in the upper left corner of the keyboard.

And based on a Defender keybinding guide where you use the numberpad to easily and quickly choose teammates to heal, I started using the numberpad for all my attack powers. Again, it's easy to reach and you can easily set it up to handle all your power needs.

    Fixed Rewards?

Basically: The more you participate, the higher tier table you gain access to, at the end, you randomly receive one of the tables up to the tier you've opened that trial. So if you 'participate' alot, than you might have the ability to get a Very Rare, but you are also much more likely (since it sounds like the tables are weighted) to get the other more common results. Those that don't participate get no chance to access the higher tiers when their random is rolled.

    As for what 'participation' is...

    They say it's definitely not
    *Damage Points Done
    *Healing Points Done
    *Randomly Clicking Powers
    *Tagging enemies

Also they say leadership is rewarded to some extent because they expect leaders to pause now and then to give direction.
This isn't quite accurate. Your participation determines whether or not you get the 10 threads (minimum reward) or you get the random component table. Once you get the random table it is all random and your participation means nothing per Berionyx. Your participation has no effect on how rare a component you get. As long as you meet the minimum requirements for participation you have as much chance of getting a very rare as anyone else.

Now if they have started including the 10 thread reward in with the component rewards as part of the random rewards than that sucks.
  9. I'd say go Cardiac for the extra Dam res.
  10. So far it looks like Golden Girl is the only one who likes the TF.
  11. This shows why the trial is flawed. Even if you get all the components, someone could dc and blow at least 1 if not more of the acids or grenades.

I'd rather see a period where you have to, as a league, take out all the doors in a specific period of time or some other thing that didn't require gathering "items" in order to win.

  13. I'm not liking the trend in TFs where you have to constantly watch where you are standing and then have to move quickly to avoid whatever is about to happen.

It's bad enough trying to take on 2 AVs at the same time with one constantly teleporting, plus handling reinforcements showing up. Then having to deal with air strikes on top of that? Not cool.

Same with the constant waves of ghouls when you are taking on (again) 2 AVs in the sewers. Is this really necessary? I could see taking on X number of waves and then have the AVs show up.

Having done this TF with the minimum of 4 players is an exercise in frustration. I'm not sure I would want to run this with lower level toons because of all the debt they would incur.
  14. The question we should be asking is, if the incarnate system makes us so powerful why are we only spending our time with 2 trials as we grow in power? Why is there no wider content like with the Alpha slot that will allow us to advance in the new slots?

The only answer I can see is bad game design.

I've survived Unstoppable crashes on my Brute while pounding on and being pounded on by AV's.

It takes some luck, and lots of insps, but it's doable.

In those situations, I'd have faceplanted several minutes earlier without Unstoppable. I may not use it very often, but it's bloody useful when I need it.
And if you are the tank that is tanking Recluse in an STF, and accidentally hit Unstoppable, you can't get out of there. I don't want to rely on luck in that situation. If I'm busy, you know tanking, I may miss the icon blinking. But this is missing my point.

The point is that you shouldn't have to worry about the consequences of a power crashing and whether or not you will survive having all your toggles drop. Especially if you are a tank or a brute where by nature you will be surrounded by lots of enemies at the time of the crash. That's just bad design and shows why Strength of Will is a much better power.

A blaster or defender nuke with a crash? Sure. But a tank? No.
  16. Even a 20 second downtime is not enough for me not to respec out of this power.

What needs to happen is for Unstoppable to be changed to something along the lines of Strength of Will, so that it is actually useful instead of delayed and guaranteed death.

Alignment powers are available. I use mine all the time in the trials.

I agree that we need to be able to set more than one power on Auto fire. For example, my DM/SR scrapper needs to have both Hasten and Practiced Brawler on auto. My DM/Regen scrapper needs Hasten and Dull Pain on auto.

But having 3 like the OP said is good too.

I personaly don't care much about Vicky.. I would rather have to ACUs (both for looks and Concept). Something not to dismiss about the ACUs is thier packing -Reg on both thier range attacks.

I went with TohitDebuff/Reg Debuff, so my ACU double applies -Reg when he shoots something. This made a very noticable difference when I went pounding on a AV as opposed to normal. (the Extra DPS was nice to since I took the T4 with Damage Boost).

And thier is something to be said about the Seers pure Psi damage vs many targets. On a toon thats pretty much strickly Smash, having Psi damage backup can be very nice.
I like Fort for the extra damage rather than the defense.

I picked Seers because the Seekers spam you with Fortitude. And there is a tier 3 and tier 4 option where the Seeker can't be targeted by enemies and all they do is just spam you with Fort.

I will just stay with the T3 for the incarnate level boost.

The other place participation is metered is the Praetorian zone event mechanic. Pet damage does not count, but then again, neither does player damage. There's any number of ways they could have handled the mechanism, even if it's just "what percentage of the time did they have a power queued up and ready to go for when it recharged?"

If anything of the sort, relating to the frequency of power casts, is what determines how much you've participated, then Robotics/Traps get screwed over every time.

For what it's worth, I've gotten mostly Uncommons on my Mastermind. One Rare, a few Commons. No Very Rares.
I have to question the participation angle. I've been on my tank and helped take down the AV's and have gotten the 10 threads and super insp table choice. I participated as well as anyone else.
  24. Most I've done is to make a ninja MM look like a genin ninja (named genin 1, genin 2, and genin 3). The MM's name was Genin 0.

I did not know that. This makes Energy Torrent attractive as a power choice if we are talking cone knock down. This would really work well with a /Kinetic Melee tank.
