Quote:Yes, it is.
"Praetorian story is too good to leave behind" - no, it isn't. Besides, other stories have been "left behind" for a while.
I'm glad that the devs spend all this effort expanding the Praetorian story. Isn't that what you and your ilk are complaining about? Unfinished stories? Well, they're finishing this one.
So how about you whiners quit y'r bitchin' and leave 'my' Praetoria alone, hmm? It's far more interesting than most stuff in Paragon.
Also, yey server list merge. -
Even though I'm not a big fan of this type of art ( 3D renderings like this tend to veer to far into Uncanny Valley territory for me) I quite enjoyed the comic. Despite the Uncanny thing the facial expressions were overall pretty well done. I liked the writing, it read easy and had a natural flow to it. I also enjoyed the subtle humor throughout.
Very good job GG! -
Quote:This is my plan. After Robert Jordan I'm apprehensive to start any longrunning series that aren't finished yet.So awesome. For those who haven't read this series yet: don't start, because the wait for new books is physically painful because they're so awesome. Wait until the series ends, then enjoy them.
Patrick Rothfuss tricked me (not really) into starting his Kingkiller Chronicle series because at the time I mistakenly believed that the Name of the Wind was a stand alone. I'm not regretting it though. I'm currently enjoying the hell out of Wise Man's Fear.
I'm also glad Steven Erikson finished the main body of his Malazan Book of the Fallen series. I plan to read that in one go next year when the last book is out on paperback.
I did start in Brandon Sandersons The Way of Kings ... his Mistborn series impressed me so much that I couldn't resist. Ah well. I'm sure those 15 years it'll take him to finish the whole thing will fly by in no time. Right? -
Quote:Actually he released 4 books in his Alcatraz YA series as well.Feast of Crows came out in 2005
Since then
Brandon Sanderson
Elantris
three books of his Mistborn series
two books of the WoT series
his Way of Kings book
Warbreaker
8 books total
For this year there is a novella set in the Mistborn world that he wrote during his 'break' between the 2 last WoT novels. -
Quote:A-merits for a pvp recipe? That takes weeks of 5 tips a day ... talk about grind. That's what A-merits are for.
The market is only for those that have no patience, and those that know how to make money off of those with no patience.
You're better off putting those A-merits in lotg or kinetic combats (or midlevel random rolls if you feel lucky) and cashing them in. You'll raise that 2bill much faster.
Edit: My main brute has 6 slots in Health: Numina: unique, numina: health, numina: health/end, miracle unique; miracle: health and regen tissue unique. Just because he can. -
I absolutely love that costume and the idea for the rotting stages.
Don't let whiners bring you down. -

I like.
Except the title that's just dumb.
The last Airbender? She's a waterbender...
Why not call it just Avatar: Legend of Korra? It's more consistent with the previous series. -
Just took me 27 seconds from double clicking the NCsoft launcher icon to the login screen. I have a 2 year old rig with an i7 920 and 6 gigs of ram.

... ran it a couple more times. Even at half merits the reward is not bad for 30 minutes of the most fun TF in game.
I've never heard of the "no flying rule" before, and I've been running a lot of ATFs. All my squichy 50s have fly as a travel power. It's a great mechanic to avoid the flying-swords-that-can't-fly.Flying high has also saved my life on 2 occasions where I was slow dodging the blue patches. They have a -fly component, so it actually knocks you out of the air and underneath the patch to safety. Well, as long as you don't land in a group of swords anyway.
-
The only glaring omission I really want to see adressed is the animal fur texture being made available for *flat* feet. It makes no sense whatsoever for a catpersons bare feet to have HIGH HEELS.

Quote:This. To me, people asking for specific ATs in a LRSF are no more or no less funny than people asking for specific ATs in a Sister Psyche.
My best Apex this week (also my best ever) was with a half-PuG consisting of 3 blasters, 3 brutes (me'n my brothers), a tanker and a kin defender. No shields or debuffs. We cleared the last mission in under 5 minutes. Total time was 22 minutes and 22 seconds. -
I believe that this is the whole point the OP is trying to make. Why would you do that? If you don't have the imagination to work around these concepts you don't enjoy, just ignore them ... Limiting yourself for these reasons is just daft if you ask me.
-
Yes, very much. It's the only part about the whole Incarnate thing I'm not interested in at all. First of all I don't care much for a pet as an Incarnate power, and making it connected to Praetoria just doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me.

Nope, not at all. It's a far more interesting place than the boring, flat Paragon City with it's one dimensional villains and boring missions. The only arcs I actually like in Paragon are the Faultline ones and the new mid level arcs they released since I18 (The Hollows is okay, though it gets dragged down by overly long and filler missions). The Rogue Isles, even though it has plenty of one dimensional villains, has far better story and arcs than Paragon City.
Also, are you serious suggesting micro transactions for actual content? That'll go over well with the playerbase.
Also, considering they charge us 8.99 for a couple of dozen costume pieces and some emotes (I think the price is on the high side of fair personally) do you honestly think they're going to charge us just 1 for a whole TF, that has original maps, designs, enemy groups, multiple paths (effectivly increasing the amount of missions needed) and new tech?
I think you need to stay a bit more realistic about things. -
This is shaping up to be the best issue since, well, Issue 19.
Looking forward to it. -

Quote:Pff, 'french' fries are actually a Belgian 'invention'. If anyone is eating them wrong it's you lot. The only thing ketchup is edible on is hotdogs, and then only with mustard. That's what you get for putting mayo on your french fries instead of ketchup like normal people

Anyway, I'll catch Firefly when it airs on cable around these parts. Which can take another year or two ...
I don't tend to spend money on TV shows if I'm not sure I'm going to really like them. And since Josh Whedon's other shows that aired here (Buffy, Dollhouse,...) were only so-so in my opinion, I'm a bit hesitant towards Firefly. -
Quote:Yea, that doesn't work for us poor, backward Euro people.

Quote:There are 4 animal types. You forgot the Cow/Bull head and tail.I find the animal pack as current base to be a good start. But you cannot rightfully call it an "animal pack" without including more than 3 types of animals (cat, wolf, bird). I honestly feel cheated and ripped off here. And only about 4 patterns for each animal is just sad. An idea for improvement here would be to add more patterns, like house cat patterns. Or add a dog costume, maybe a frog or lizard, or turtle (not ninja turtle). I think an Assassin hampster would be highly entertaining. Or a heroin addicted rabbit with fleas lol....
There's about the same amount of stuff in this pack than in the previous super boosters, more than in some actually. It's perfectly in line with previous releases. Not having unrealistic expectations helps with dissapointment. If you feel ripped off, it's your own fault to be blunt. The pack was on test + you could read up on what was actually in it before purchasing. Inform yourself. -
/dark.
All the -tohit stacks to rediculous numbers. Between that, fearsome stare, tarpatch and the selfheal (which is also a slight -regen debuff among other things) you'll have a hard time dying. Especially if you slot for some defense.
Fluffy is awesome. Doesn't do much dmg, but with all its -tohit (which stacks nicely with your own) and selfheal it can tank a fair bit for you when soloing.
Shadowfall has a stealth component, which is handy for ghosting overly long missions.
And then there's Howling Twilight. It's advertised as a aoe rez, but it does much more than that. It is also an AoE stun, and has a huge single target -regen debuff. -
My fire/pain corruptor is awesome. She can switch between being a damage monster or a healbot in a heartbeat. Whichever the team needs at the moment. Add to that a decent aoe debuff, a very good aoe buff and the awesome that is Painbringer.
Imo paindom > thermal (the set it resembles most) for the sole reason that you don't have 2 single target shields to apply every 2 seconds (slight hyperbole). Instead it's just the 1 aoe. -
I thought you Firefly fans (never seen it myself) might find this awesome/entertaining/hilarious:
It's from Patrick Rothfuss' blog. He is a succesful fantasy writer (The Name of the Wind and The Wise man's Fear) and a huge fan of everything by Josh Whedon.

And yes, the guy's really serious. -
This is my one complaint with the pack. Heels on furry legs just looks, well really stupid. Patterns like the fur really should be made available across all types of 'boots' that can take them.

Objective feedback:
The download speed for updating the testserver is slower. Definitely not faster.
Since a few weeks I had an error which didn't allow me to update the EU test server. I hadn't gotten around to trying to fix it yet, but now I wont have to since the NCsoft launcher fixed it automaticly for me. Very good!
Subjective feedback: I like the look and feel of the updater. The news and various links are presented much cleaner and clearer than on the current EU one.
I love how all the different servers are in one updater now.
