Quote:I disagree. Two main points to Eclipse. Resistance and (if your intent is "perma") recharge rate. Currently...I don't have Mids up right now but based on what I'm seeing, you're spending an extra slot for (I think) the same or less resistance per target. I never find Eclipse needs slotting for end mod, and I would want much better accuracy values than you are getting.
Recharge: 78.55% (Pre-Ed 79.5%)
Resistance: 54.16% (Pre-ED 57.38%)
The extra endurance is slotted for a simple boost. Giving some situations it is helpful. Some may find it is not required. However, I obviously do.
Accuracy is not any issue on my build and slotting for such it not required on my end. Some players characters are built differently and may require a different approach. -
Quote:But Eclipse doesn't do any damage, does it? What benefit is the /Dam side of the HO bring?Quote:the best way to slot Eclipse is with 2 acc/dam HO's, and 2 recharge IOs.
I agree with what you are saying, his/her "best" would not work in my all human build at all.
This is what works for me:
Efficay Adaptor: End Mod/Recharge
Invention: Resist Damage
Performance Shifter: End Mod/Acc
Titanium Coating: Resistance/Recharge
Aegis: Resistance/Recharge -
Quote:You're missing the point, it's not a restriction. If you need to utilize forms to meet your objective, then your build is not all human. Mule or not it does not matter.I think that's a silly restriction to make. If you're going to be a purist about your Peacebringer, be a rational one. I don't see the difference between dropping a kinetic combat set you'll never use in boxing and dropping a kinetic combat set you'll never use in Dwarf Strike.
-
That was a part of some of the recent changes the Peacebringer undergone.
That's just a tip of the iceberg -
Quote:Vengeance also gives a great opportunity to slot a LoTG 7.5% recharge. I originally grabbed it as a mule. However, I team frequently, and frequently use vengeance. In big mobs, if the recharge was quicker I would almost have to incorporate it into my attack chainSnip
Unless you are partial to all of these powers, I'd recommend working in vengeance...as an ubershade you will likely not fall first when on teams and as such you can make great use of Vengeance.
Enjoy. -
Not a bad build. If it was me, I would focus on recharge and limiting endurance usage. Don't worry about your fluffies, 6 six slotting provoke for it? I wouldn't do it. Grab grant invisibility, place a LOTG 7.5% into it and set up the "fluffy/invisibility auto target bind". Provoke from the power pool isn't as effect as one would hope.
I would be careful using too many mules. The Warshades have a huge number effective powers, choosing powers that you don't intend to use simply for the IO perk isn't worth it in the long run. That pretty much goes with any build, I would say.
Grant invisibility and vegenence are the only two "mules" I use and its only for recharge purposes.
edit, I'm really curious on the knockback/knockdown question as to what is actually required to be effect and what would be considered overkill. I should look and see specifically what I have slotted, because I don't recall getting knocked off my feet very often...or even at all for that matter. -
My answer is very clear and on topic (obviously not to you though). I am hoping the OP understands that without nova the Peacebringer is at somewhat of a disadvantage keeping at range. If I was someone who had a play style suited more range attack I would stay away from PB absent of Nova. I was simple stating what my opinion is if I was in his/her situation.
-
If I was going to build a peacebringer who was only meant to attack at range I would include nova in the build. If nova didn't fit into my overall concept, I would re-think and probably settle on a corr or blaster.

Quote:That was my point, obviously a little too high flying. Kheldians have a very tight "bag of tricks" most of the powers compliment one another. I can't think of too many powers I would sacrifice in my current builds in favour of app, especially at those high levels you mention. That is exactly where those builds really start to come alive. I don't know about the rest of crowd, but I'm not ready to substitute eclipse for electrical fences. I simply cannot get my head around gimping these characters. The same place you find the slots for the powers you would normally take at 35, 38, 41, 44, 47 or 49?
Seriously, people act like this would add more powers they have to slot. That's not the case. You would have the same number of powers. Just more options for what those powers could be. (Oh, and also, you would always have the option to NOT take them.)
Kheldians by nature are typically very slot starved (especially a tri former) and a good number of those app's require more than one slot to get any type of usefulness out of them. Kheldians are very fun to play, you should try and rolling one someday -
My WS hits the damage cap with no issue (without the red inspirs). In fact, if I don't see both damage res and damage in light blue on my screen I've either lost interest in the battle or I'm afk. I'm sure your shade is the same.
I have a question about the App wish...where are we suppose to find the slots for this? Maybe an all human build, but a tri former...forget about it. I find Kheldians to be a huge "give and take" relationship (more so than most AT's). I can't think off the top of my head which Patron/Ancillary power would be worth giving up on some Kheldian goodness. -
Quote:I actually ran an ITF with Dechs last night, he asked me if my Warshade was of the MFing variety. I didn't know actually what that was. Active CoH fan, not so much on the forums though. I just registered my forum account a few months ago. Although, I originally joined the game in 2005. That being said, I will read the guide...better late than neverDechs Kaison's MFing Warshade... Follow the tenets and you too will destroy.
There are a few things I do that I recommend for WS slotting:
1) 6 slot Gravity Well - 4 Basilisk's Gaze, 1 Lockdown (the +2 mag hold proc), 1 damage
2) 6 slot Dark Extraction - 4 Expedient Reinforcement, 2 Soulbound Allegiance
3) 6 slot Eclipse with the following-
a) Reactive Armor-Resist/Recharge
b) Impervium Armor-Resist/Recharge
c) Titanium Coating-Resist/Recharge
d) Aegis-Resist/Recharge
e) 2 slots of Efficacy Adaptor - End.Mod./Acc, End.Mod./Rech
There are others, but these define what I think important.
As far as some Warshade advice. I would start out as a Tri-form, and after you level up to a point where eclipse becomes available I would try respecn' to a human only. Once you hit 50 make a decision from there. Whether you're human only or a tri-former will be a deciding factor on how you build your hero. My peacebringer is a tri-form, and enjoy shape-shifting and taking advantage of all the skills available. My Shade is a human only, mainly for concept and a bit of variety between my two epics though. Either way, you can't go wrong with a Kheldian. No matter which way you put him/her together...their that good! -
Wicked! Kheldians are by far one of the most dynamic AT's to play. Living prove for any non-believers what a shade is capable of. Taking screenshots while all the carnage is going on isn't an easy feat either.

I agree with the opinions regarding the AT section. I've managed/owned a number of different communities using a variety of different forum software, the AT section is the only section that flows well.
If it was me, I would drop the over used number of categories on the index page. Keep it simple, have a category section header that contains the relevant forums, and if needed relevant subforums.
To outline these forums, I would simply go by activity (for the most part). If you have a forum with one or two posts a week....merge it with something similar. Keep moving down the list until the community forums have a relevant flow. Very simple, 1 hour max! No need to make this over complicated. -

Is there a way to have the pet window up for the dark extraction? I thought I noticed someone having it up with the fluffies in a youtube video.

Recharge is somewhere around 200sec. With the right recharge I guess it's safe to say 3 can be stacked. Realistically, you should be able to count on 2 fluffs to add to the Warshades path of destruction.
I double checked my 50 build (it's nothing special) and I can extract every 65 secs. -
Of course, good defense and resistance makes for a decent survivable factor. I'm up against the same pickle with my current build (35 all human build). Although, I have a few more slots to burn I'm taking the "kill things faster" approach.
I'll be interested to hear your progress with your build, and how you got your hands of a +3 Gladiator. -
Traps is a very powerful set. However, it's a time (no pun intended) consuming power to play. Point in case, rolling with a full team of incarnates through an ITF, by the time you set your mines, gas, motars, the baddies have been cleared.
I would agree with the opinions that time probably has more survivable incentive. I played time on the beta and had a great deal of fun with it.
If you're a max/min player, I would go with time. -
I stuck with the tri-form. Mainly for concept though, I am giving up a tad on functionality, but I enjoy the character much more with the forms. That being said I am working on an all human warshade (currently lv 34) which is, so far, keeping my interest. Of course, that is what respecs are for.

How is one group of downtime more important than another group? Really, think about it. The whining is unreal, I'm embarrassed to think I play with some of you.
Outages are a fact life in ANY capacity. Nothing is finite or 24/7...except maybe the crying.
I feel the people behind the scenes are trying their best to keep the our game fresh and as well as keep most happy. I personally would not want to venture into work at some of these times these people are. Obviously, there is a fair amount of dedication on their end and a discussion about the down time will help them get better at what they do as far as how the downtime affects their core users.
Everyone's prime time is different and there is probably not too many people that can honestly say that they have not been affected by some of the recent down time.
Have a cup of tea, a biscuit, and chill -
Quote:Well, there we go. Good timing, wife is coming home in about an hour from a root canal visit at the dentist. It's looking like we're back up. Doom gloom and tears are over~
Rule of thumb, no matter how bad the maintenance feels, there is always someone feeling worse -
^^ Same, I double checked my actual build and the shields aren't on my list either.

I skipped Dawn, Pulsar, and Eye Beam on my tri-form

You could visit the tailor (or w/I21 a trainer) with one of your characters. I'm quite sure you may view the new costume pieces, there should be a little lock icon beside the ones you do not own/or have yet to purchase.
