After reading Dechs Kaison's wonderful guide, I got inspired to roll my first Warshade. I just hit 20, and I'm loving it so far. However, I'm not sure if I am missing something from my build. I'm going to Recharge and some defense. I know I'll not be able to softcap and keep my recharge enough for Perma Eclipse without purples, and I won't be able to afford those anytime soon. I know this is moderately expensive build, but I think I should be able to afford it with AMerits. One thing that concerns me is my accuracy may not be high enough, and my Nova blasts seem a little underslotted, but I'm not sure where to find the slots. Any suggestions or ideas?

And before anyone asks about the SuperJump, by computer is too laggy to rely on TP for my travel power without Hover... Also, I just like SuperJump.

I like the way you think, friend.


I don't have mids on this computer, so I can't really comment on most of your build. Three things, though:

Eclipse is most efficiently slotted with two acc/dam HOs and two recharges (The acc/damages give you accuracy and damage resistance values).

I don't see any -kb IOs. You'll want at least one of those. Perhaps slotted into SJ or one of your TPs?

You'll also want to slot some heals into your dark dwarf drain. It will be invaluable for staying alive during nastier fights.

Sorry, I am confusing myself with another little green guy...

Yeah, don't sacrifice necessary recharge (which you need for permaeclipse) for a little bit of defense.

Accuracy gets a boost from sunless mire (maybe from dwarf mire too, I can't recall offhand).

Pull slots from dwarf anatagonize for nova blasts...don't worry about that extra bit of s/l def from the bonus...you are still just two small purple shields from defense softcap to s/l...and that coupled with your resistance...goodtimes...

Unless you are partial to all of these powers, I'd recommend working in vengeance...as an ubershade you will likely not fall first when on teams and as such you can make great use of Vengeance.

Vengeance also gives a great opportunity to slot a LoTG 7.5% recharge. I originally grabbed it as a mule. However, I team frequently, and frequently use vengeance. In big mobs, if the recharge was quicker I would almost have to incorporate it into my attack chain

I'm not great at builds, but with all those perf shifters with chance for +end, wouldn't it be easier (and cheaper) to slot it with a regular end mod?

Cheaper, maybe. Easier, sure. But it wouldn't be better. You're discounting the usefulness of having straight up endurance points added to your bar outside of recovery, which get's crashed from Quasar, and sometimes enemies.

Thanks for the great advice. I didn't think about taking Leadership for the LotGs. It does make a great deal of sense to have Veng. And since I had a throw-away power anyway, I was able to fit it in. I also forgot about the Hami trick for Resistance powers, so that also saved me a slot. My KB protection was in Gravity Shield, so I didn't forget about it. So, after a few tweaks, below is my New and Improved (TM) WS.

I'm guess I'm living in a cave, was unaware of the Hami trick. My MIDS allows the slotting of the Nucleolus Exposure, but does not show any resistance gain from them, so what/how much of an enhancement does it provide?

Two level 50's will give 56.99% enhancement to resistance. They are schedule A enhancements, but since they are being used as resistance here the game thinks they are schedule B and applies ED to their values. As eclipse gives a base of 11.25% resistance per enemy hit, that becomes ~17.66% resistance per enemy hit.

The accuracy portion should give you 66.6%, as it is still considered schedule A.

Thanks for the info. That frees up a slot, and, since I have plenty of Nucleolus Exposure enhancements in the base bin, I see another respec if the offing.

First off, is Hasten available at level 4 now? It's showing as an impossible placement in Mids there, but I know that they rearranged the availability of travel powers when i21 launched so that could just be showing up incorrectly.

Something I'm noticing is that you seem to be aiming for e/n defense with those partial thunderstrike sets which is not something I would try to chase.

Honestly I would pull both of those extra slots from NovaST attacks, Nova is best for AoE and by the time you double stack your mires and hit both AoE's it will be time to switch back to Dwarf for another Mire anyways.

I would use those slots to get some better enhancement values for Dwarf Strike and Smite since the way you built implies that you'll be using your Dwarf form for single target damage. It also couldn't hurt to stick a Recharge IO on the end of Unchain Essence- Posi Blast is sort of lacking in that department.

I know Dechs recommends the Basilisk's Gaze slotting in G Well, but it's your best single target attack and I really feel you'd be better suited slotting it up with 4 Kinetic Combats, a Nucleo, and a Recharge IO if you don't want to use Hecatomb. This will get you better enhancement values, more defense, and retain Perma Eclipse.

If you wanted to make up a little recharge eafter that change and you're content with your Defense levels, you could re-slot Dwarf with 2 resistance IO's (your perf shifter proc is optional- When I played Tri Form I never found I had room to fit that proc into Dwarf) and use the extra slots to 6 slot Dwarf Antagonize with Mocking Beratement for a 7.5% recharge bonus and 2.5 s/l defense.

Here are the changes to your build fleshed out... G Well will 1 shot even level LT's to set up unchain/extraction, and Dwarf ST attacks are seeing much better enhancement values.


Edit: Just thought I'd clarify that the reason I didn't worry about getting extra recharge values out of your Nova Aoe's is that your general AoE chain will be dwarf mire>emanation>detonation, hitting Sunless Mire, Unchain, and Quasar whenever they're up, but by the time you finish re-stacking the Dwarf Mire your Nova Aoe's should be good to go.

So after reading through Dechs's wonderful MFing warshade guide and seeing the posts here on the forums, i decided to plan out making a MF'ing Warshade. I played a warshade years ago, put him up to 35 and then got distracted by alt itis. However i love this concept of an MF'ing warshade. I cant really get on the game easily now, as i am currently deployed, however, i do have Mids so i figure i would take the time to plot out my build. Dechs is too busy with his MA tank to roll a Peacebringer.

As for your build, part of the general idea would be good for what you spent, in a sense... If we had toggle suppression. As of right now though, if you want to play a tri form Shade there is no sense in building up your human form's defense.....

Unless you planned on devoting slots to your human form defense togglesto use it just for AV fights... The problem is that you're missing a good majority of the powers that make human form useful against AV's (or severely gimping them.) As it stands, you've spent slots on a bunch of defense for your human form so that you can... What? Sit around and hit an underslotted Gravity Well over and over?

I don't like your Extraction slotting at all. The best way to do it is 4 expedient reinforcement and 2 soulbound allegiance.

I do NOT like the fact that you didn't slot your Dwarf ST attacks. You have 2 options for single target fights (EB's, AV's) and those options are: Slot your Dwarf chain or slot your Human Form chain. Nova is a horrible choice for single target damage and even the values you have for it are not good enough, assuming you survive (which you won't.)

Stygian Circle is horribly overslotted. Putting 2 Efficacy Adaptors in it for the HP bonus would be pushing it- It definitely doesn't need to be slotted for heal.

Slot Eclipse with 2 Nucleo's and 2 recharge IO's, it'll stay perma and cap your resists with 5 targets.

Your hasten is perma 2 slotted with even tier 1 spiritual... You have a boat load of recharge.

Have you actually played your Warshade all the way to 50? I think even doing that on SO's would give you a better feel for the archetype, and that alone would help you through a lot of these fundamental slotting dilemmas.
