MY MASTERMIND CAN CAST HER THERM SHIELDS AS AN AOE NOW?
*DIES*
ETA: No, you can't get incarnate threads for reward merits. STILL GLORIOUS THOUGH -
Quote:You did a mish with Ghost Widow? *Awe*It is nice to just see you all give a flying flip. Long ago Ghost Widow came in game and did a mission with the team I was on. Long before the Black Market and Wentworths. She popped in and gave me the rocket boots to check out and some other costume piece to another toon on the team. Then my team and her did a mission. I will NEVER forget that. It is what made the game "cool" for me back then. It was my very first toon, Venetian and she told me that she liked my toon and it's costume. I will Never forget that either.
For days I was playing just to catch another glimpse of Ghost Widow, but I never saw her again.
Just pop in game and do a mission with us. : D You have done it before when the game was ALIVE! Stand apart and keep it up. : D -
You have to come to Atlas again, Freitag, I missed it because of an LGTF and now I'm sad.
ETA: Also, Z, sorry for trying to feed you Alka-Seltzer that one time, Shardseer's a bit cracked. -
No! I missed it!
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo~ -

I thought I sensed a funky groove in here.
And lo, verily, the groove is most bodacious. -
Saying a tanker using a pet to solo is cheating is like saying a controller using a +def/+res IO is cheating.

Quote:Pfft, it took me twenty-seven months, I just reached 50 the other week. And that's not including all the time my account wasn't active at all.So, it took me fifteen and a half months. However!
I am happy to report that at 2:46pm Pacific time today, my main character Malleable Mechanic reached the Level 50 mark: the first of my characters to do so. (Not trained him yet for an RP reason, but he will be.)
I'm disappointed with the screen I took of the "blast of power" (it was right at the tail end after all the flashbang happened) so I won't put it up.
Anyway, note to Q: it's about time.
You're doin' fine, man, trust me. -
Pfft, I'm good, I've got Hibernate. :V

Quote:... Dude, you understand this is a friggin game, yes?Good. I don't want people on my team who are too cool to follow the rules.
We're not actually fighting villains here. Failure is an option. And the rules are not for our survival, nor is not agreeing with you about them some sort of misguided teenage rebellion.
I'm just sayin' -
Don't be ridiculous, ninjakittyfairies are far too cute to be aliens.

Just go the Ozymandias route. Don't begin the monologue until a good hour or so after you've already won.
And not "Set the plans in motion that will accomplish victory." No. Wait until at least a set period of time after your goal has been accomplished.
Remember: If dying during the monologue -Yes, I know it's impossible/inconcievable/incomprehensible that you could die. Just pretend for the sake of argument that you're vincible.- If dying during the monologue means you would lose, it's too early to monologue. -
Quote:See, that's the issue, right there, is that most players don't like the stories the game's writers shove in their face.(Underline added by me.)
A small quibble... Aren't ALL of the Incarnate abilities of a magic origin? I mean they are granted by the Well, right? Unrelatedly, I guess I also have an issue with folks complaining that Natural characters aren't covered by the Incarnate powers. There is a good reason why that is: as soon as they start to become an Incarnate... they cease to BE natural anymore.
They like their powers and their origins, and they want to continue to participate in the game without their character being hijacked, which is why every single time the writers try to take control of an origin or powerset's storyline, the players have protested, resisted, and rebelled.
And it's really kind of sad/telling that so many people are refusing to take part in the Incarnate storyline simply because it's not even remotely appropriate to their character and they dislike feeling railroaded -
*Puts the puppy in a MAgic Circle of Bacon Warding*
Naughty puppy. No bacon for you. -
*Sets off the Puppy Pork Proximity Alert. Alarms ring out through the Rookery and flashing lights are seen all over the place*

YOU ARE ORDERED TO SURRENDER THE BACON IMMEDIATELY. PUT YOUR HANDS UP AND STEP AWAY FROM THE PLATTER. -
So in other words, this four-to-six-level period just sucks for MM?
Alright. Any advice, then, for how to play, if not the specific combination then just tips for either the primary or how I can best utilize the secondary? -
Alright, I'll admit it right off the bat. I never play Masterminds.
Well, I built one of every AT for Virtue, because I'm an RP junkie, but they're all concept based, and as a result, my MM is a Mercs/Thermal.
My problem is that playing as her feels... weak, honestly. I've heard that Mercs is a strong DPS primary, but they don't feel that spectacular, and my shields don't do much for their surviveability, so I wind up slowed to a crawl as I wait for her End to recharge so she can keep up with the healing auras she has to spam. She's about level 20, so I figured I"d come here and ask the experts.
Are there any tricks that would make Mercs/Thermal a bit more fun, or a different playstyle I should be aiming for, or are the two just not very compatible? Or perhaps do they come into their own later, and I should just tough it out until later in the game?
What, in short, should I expect? -
Coffee slides. How horribly unhygienic
