As soon as my main hit 50 he became, for all intents and purposes, a useless tag-along. His only useful abilities right now are his Incarnate Judgment and his nuke.
My current build isn't maxed on anything, and I've been looking at ways, but I'm wondering if an ice/ice/ice blaster is capable of being
A- Useful to endgame trials, mission teams, raids, or taskforces,
B- Able to be built to perform any impressive bragging-rights stunts,
C- Capable of being useful in PvP, or
D- Useful for anything other than the occasional nostalgic Steel Canyon fire?
Thankye kindly in advance. -
Oh, now hold on one damn minute
WHY IS MY LIBRARY FULL OF ******* TRIBBLES? -
Quote:No, I don't think that's the real reason, but I keep hearing it as an excuse not to do the work necessary to change it.Do you really think that's the real reason? costume slots aren't tied to powers. See this guys post
IE what the guy I was responding to just said.
Don't snark at me because the point somebody ELSE made was invalid and I responded to it. -

Stalkers seem to only be good at one aspect of the game, which is PvP, which almost everybody ignores, especially the devs.
Single-target burst damage is virtually worthless in this game from any practical standpoint, especially when coupled with the squishiest defense of any melee archetype in the game. -
Quote:Which is a silly justification, since I can use a costume change to go from a tiny girl with robot legs to a massive werewolf to an average-sized zombie with all of my flesh rotting off.I've always kind of liked the fact you can't casually get rid of something fused to your central nervous system until none of your abilities rely on its presence. Remember, in canon your other builds are still the current you ... you're just focusing on different aspects of your potential.
ETA: Oh, and since there exists in-game technology to BRING YOU BACK TO LIFE AFTER AN EXPLOSION, I really don't think removing a surgically-installed backpack has any lore-based reason to be irreversible. -
Okay, seriously, people. The holiday is called "Independence Day"
Calling it "The 4th of July" is silly. It'd be like calling Christmas "The 25th of December." -

Character name: Snaerr
Global name: @Tramontane
You give me a timeframe, I'll see if I can work with it. -
Quote:EVERYTHING has crap iXP rates. I have at least T3 of everything but lore, I have REDUNDANT RARES sitting in my damn Incarnate Salvage, and I absolutely did not touch the trials until after I already had a T3 Alpha. I've ground literally dozens of BAFs and Lambdas, and spent every last spare thread and scrap of INF I could on my Destiny slotBAF has always had pretty low iXP rates - I've used my Threads each time to unlock the Judgement/Lore slots.
So WHY AM I ONLY 60% OF THE WAY TO DESTINY? -
Well, this sounds right up Snaerr's alley. I'mma warn you right now though- he has issues. He could be contacted through Azuria- the two are good friends- and thus provide an avenue for the two to come together, but Snaerr's a bit manic with a combination White Knight complex and severe self-loathing.
So. If you don't mind him being a general misanthropic angsty sonofabitch, he'd probably be more than happy to give you an assist. -

Quote:Those pulses make my teeth itch.Have done two runs. It's decent, I don't like the damage pulses so much though. But still reasonably fun.
Still miles better than Lambda, though.
Then again, dragging my tender extremities through broken glass, rusty nails, and syringes full of AIDS is miles better than Lambda, so that isn't saying much. -

There is a Galaxy city?
Never bothered with it. Atlas park was, and is, the place to go. has been for seven years. not going to change now.Quote:Galaxy City? I think I've heard of it. Is it near Atlas Park?
I'm just going to go kill myself now.
ETA: Yes, I know they're joking, the joke was just that painful. -
Dude, I wondered why I never saw you around the D anymore.

... I wouldn't even favor kicking them.
I'm as into RP as it gets. Literally every character I have was made with the intention of RPing them, and I've put a great deal of thought and effort into their backstories and personalities. My friends and I have in-character banter during missions, act appropriately in response to clues, and on occasion will even alter our tactics during fights because our characters specifically hate or specifically don't want to hurt a specific group (Doesn't happen often, nor when it's a particularly difficult spawn, but yeah.) I've actually had interactions that consisted of my friends and I street-sweeping mobs too low to grant any rewards and conversing about it, just for the RP aspect.
And I would never kick a non-RP-er off my team, and if they express irritation with RP I stop RP-ing.
This game isn't a game about roleplaying. We're playing a different game on their turf, not vice versa. They get priority. -

Quote:See, this is the thing. I cut out Arctic Air specifically because of the end costs, and even without it, I /still/ can't keep any blue in m'damn bar. It's a combination of the two. Arctic Air gobbles up End like no tomorrow and Ice Blast is a quick animating, lowish damage set which means it tends to go through End quickly as well. Plus Domis are always slot-tight so slotting for End Reduction is tricky as well.
It gets better once you have AA slotted to the ED cap for End Reducation. You might also be able to get some Acc/Dam/End IOs cheap and frankenslot with them in order to save on slots, although that might take until the mid 20s (27 is usually when I start doing that) -
Hey guys, what's going on in- oh, my lord...

I just got my Ice Control/Icy Assault Dom to level 14.
My problem is, his Controller powersets eat end like candy and his Assault powersets just don't do enough damage to get by without the Control powers. At +0/x1, I wind up with an empty end bar at the end of every fight and I have to wait for it to recharge.
So my question is, am I doing something wrong, is this a crappy level for Dominators in general, or does Ice Control just inhale end like a cocaine addict? -
Quote:That didn't really answer my question.A starting 2 slots for F2P and 12 for VIP. The same 12 you started with anyhow. And any extra slots (like the ones previously purchased or the one you gain every year you subscribe) will remain open. So if you currently have 24 slots open and go F2P/premium I believe you'll end up with 14 slots

Quote:...I am asking because they are the most notorious henchmen for chasing runners, or other mobs, the most out of all the other henchmen sets due to their innate speed buff coupe up with the knock-backs they do. It feels you might as well summon them, buff them, and then walk up to a big group of enemies and play the Benny Hill Theme Song after they start attacking.

YAKETY SAX.
It is called.
YAKETY.
FRIGGIN
SAX.
It wasn't written FOR Benny Hill. It wasn't written BY Benny Hill. Its writing, inception, creation, and existence have nothing to DO with Benny Hill except that he happened to use the song for his sketch comedy show!
IT IS NOT HIS EFFING THEME SONG.
This wouldn't help. Pets have been observed closing to melee range just to use a ranged attack. Frequently.
