Ice/Icy Dom question

I just got my Ice Control/Icy Assault Dom to level 14.

My problem is, his Controller powersets eat end like candy and his Assault powersets just don't do enough damage to get by without the Control powers. At +0/x1, I wind up with an empty end bar at the end of every fight and I have to wait for it to recharge.

So my question is, am I doing something wrong, is this a crappy level for Dominators in general, or does Ice Control just inhale end like a cocaine addict?

Ice/Ice Blaster. Dedication to concept is an ugly thing.
Claws/WP Brute. Sex without the angst.
Every CoX character lies somewhere on this spectrum.

It's a combination of the two. Arctic Air gobbles up End like no tomorrow and Ice Blast is a quick animating, lowish damage set which means it tends to go through End quickly as well. Plus Domis are always slot-tight so slotting for End Reduction is tricky as well.

It gets better once you have AA slotted to the ED cap for End Reducation. You might also be able to get some Acc/Dam/End IOs cheap and frankenslot with them in order to save on slots, although that might take until the mid 20s (27 is usually when I start doing that)

See, this is the thing. I cut out Arctic Air specifically because of the end costs, and even without it, I /still/ can't keep any blue in m'damn bar.

Ice Blast is the culprit. You sling chunks at breakneck speed and end up sucking wind a lot between attack chains/spawns:

Ice Bolt is 5.2 end with 1 sec cast time and 4 sec rech.
Ice Blast is 6.9 end with 1 sec cat time and 6 sec rech.
Ice Sword is 8.5 end with 1.3 sec cast time and 8 sec rech

So a simple attack chain with just those 3 is 20.6 end or 1/5 your total in less than 5 seconds. I'd say you can just about defeat an even con minion with those 3 attacks. However, a standard spawn will have 3 minions, so you'll need to spend 61.8 end to defeat them in about 24 seconds. But that's if you hit with every attack and do zero controlling. More likely you'll miss a couple attacks, so you can put that total closer to 75 end or 3/4 of your bar and take a little over 30 seconds.

If you do a little controlling as well, you'll need:
BoI at 8.5 end
Chilblain at 7.8 end

Combined with the attack chain above, you'll be just about out of end versus a simple spawn of 3.

You need stamina 3x slotted ASAP and you'll need to slot end redux in everything.

Please buff Ice Control.

Ice Sword Circle is also brutal on the endurance bar.
