  1. Deathbug was the last person that followed the rules. So playing his arc now. Everyone else gets skipped.
Sidekicks Can Be A Pain In The Cape
    Arc ID #28430

Comments here. If anyone else feels like reviewing please move to mine while I finish Deathbugs'

Ran it with a level 40 Fire/SR scrapper, on difficulty: 1, solo.

    Mission 1
Intro: Good dialogue. Very mom'ishy. I approve.
    Mission Dialogue: Fair. No complaints.
Mission Structure: Arachnos. Nothing too scary.
Misc: Kyle went all berserk on me got himself killed real fast. Mom was not happy, but he's an elec blaster, so he should be getting used to death early on. No Clues given. I like clues as storytelling devices for those that want extra info. Still, arc still starting, so into is fine.

    Mission 2
Intro: Again, good. Captured well the mommy feeling.
    Mission Dialogue: Not much here.
Mission Structure: Nice mission setting. Warehouse, but not the standard one.
Misc: Not much happened here. Just get a glowie that says where boy-wonder went to. Clue is informative. I feel the first two missions could be condensed easily into one for a more denser, informative mission, instead of two content-light ones. As of now, not much has happened. Might want to elaborate on each one for more background info, or merge them.

    Mission 3
Intro: Standard mom dialogue. Not so sure about popping one for her. This mom doesn't seem the type to say that. I feel she'd be more concerned with the kid's safety than revenge.
    Mission Dialogue: Standard fair.
Mission Structure: Creys, started out as greens and ramped up slowly. I like it. I play MA for story, not challenge.
Misc: Nora was an lt. easy dispatch. Dialogue was ok. Building for something. This mission finally hit pay dirt on the plot and it's getting interesting.

    Mission 4
    Intro: As everything before, solid.
Mission Dialogue: Basic golden-agey hero stuff.
Mission Structure: Full of custom kiddie heroes. Not sure about the file size you have, but I'd try making a few more custom minion / lts for it for variety's sake. Also, they all pretty pretty costumes, not the thing I'd think Crey/Aeon would come up with, even for poser-heroes.
Misc: EB was not hard. A bit runny though. My 'assistant' was an lt. Didn't managed to get killed in the process, but I question his hero credentials.

Overall It was a standard mission of science roguing the innocent. I would have liked a twist ending, or something more dramatic, but then again, I like twisty sickey things.

The part when they rebel against Aeon and go rogue on the ones that rogued them is also standard science screws up theme. It works, but I'd recommend thinking what has been done, and taking it one notch up, instead of sticking to what's been done.

As it stands, it captures the whole hero saves the day everyone is happy vibe. I still think the first two missions could be tightened up. They feel like filler made longer for the sake of length.

I'd recommend adding a mission where we get to see what Killerwatt has done. Let him wreak some havoc somewhere. I.E. condense mission one and two into one, and add a new mission three where K.W. trashes the place.

Should be soloable by most ATs, just 3 missions.

    My arc:
  2. Mermeoine: Can you please play and comment on the arc above you? We seem to have more people asking for feedback than people giving it. And the point of this thread seems to be give one ask one.
  3. Following the rule of Rate the ARC above you, then post yours rule. (which I think we got derailed away for a bit)

    Played: Arc Name: Chronal Surge
    Comments: * * * *

    Mission 1:
+ Played as a level 40 scrapper on difficulty 1, not all that IOed out, though he has 41% melee defense. I was not changed in levels, however a level 45 Capo Muscle <recruits> was there. It was only one, the rest were the right level.
+ Recruit Commander was an lt. which is what I like for a diff:1 mission. So far so good.
+ Random grab bag of mobs was cool. But I'd suggest picking them for synergy to make them more of a threat. Though no qualms if it stays this way.

    Mission 2:
+ Again some level 45s lts. in here. Seem to be only 'Family' related.
+ "For Pony" doesn't do it for me. Yes, I know where it comes from.
+ Bruiser conned as a Boss. Still doable.
Story so far is progressing. A bit slowly for my taste. I'd like some info or teaser on why the big bag is so big, or so bad. I appreciate a mystery, but withholding info for the sake of withholding info is a weak trick. However, missions are short (takes me more to write comments than clear them), so this is not of a probem.

    Mission 3:
    + Another level 45 Capo.
+ Future Scorcher Infernoed me to hell and killed me. Not bad. Giving Aim to blasters that can NOVA is nasty for defense based powersets.
+ When I got two glowies some mobs suddenly appeared in a time skip or something. They had a few long lines which were exactly the same. Not a bad line, but it doesn't look good when people from different eras say the same thing.
+ Feels there were too many Gang Wars (the power) happening. Not a problem for me, but could be for others.

    Mission 4:
+ Think there is also a typo in Silos description of the Big Bad. Can't recall it off hand.
+ Typo in zoning in Pop Up Kingpi n's
+ Future Recruiter conned as EB, had two helpers with me. He was a bit of a runner, and lots of pets made it interesting. Not a problem.
+ Not a fan of the Spines / Dark's humor. Seems to be quotes from places, but I just didn't click with them.

    Overall Comments
Not bad. Mob variety was fun. I liked the lots of different minions to tear down. Might want to play up a bit the mixed time things and Silos presence. Of course, you run the risk of overdoing it.

Description: Aeon Entertainment is proud to provide heroes with the opportunity to use their imagination and pretend to be warriors, monks, clerics and wizards from a far away magical kingdom. [ DISCLAIMER: No EBs, no AVs in this arc. However, foes are Tuatha which tend to hit hard for the unprepared. ]

Comments: It's a simple unambitious 3 story arc. Should be doable my most AT.

  5. Quote from The Escapist:

Overall the Mission Architect is hugely impressive, even in its current beta state. I managed to slap together a fun mission about the fabled Sony Defense Force raiding the NPD facility in order to sabotage next months sales results. Within about 15 minutes I had a fully functioning mission, complete with a boss that cried out "Wait for Uncharted 2!" upon being defeated. You just can't buy that entertainment, which makes this free update coming in March all the sweeter.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Found it funny.

    Also, GO GO Captain Dynamic.
  6. Any chance we can put somewhere the standard deviation of these numbers?
  7. [ QUOTE ]
I updated villain side today. I didn't do hero side. I'm not sure when we'll get around to doing hero side.

I did the update close to 2x xp weekend on purpose. I wanted to see how much it had gone up (quite a bit), and find out how long it takes to go back down. I'll try to check it again in mid February and see where things stand.

Do we still have to trust you based solely on your doctorness or will you try to sway our trust with gifts?
  8. Sexy, I just downloaded the Mac Client and after the HUGE download I got to play my good old heroes on my MacBook. No need to buy anything.

Not sure how capable it can handle the game, but I can at least solo with it when I'm far from my gaming PC.
  9. [ QUOTE ]

But I notice no one's posted this one yet:

    Ryan vs Dorkman

[/ QUOTE ] Now with more BG breaking.

I'm not much of a Star Wars fan, but I must admit, that was really good. Nice choreography.

And here's Ryan vs Dorkman 2
  10. [ QUOTE ]

Greatest Fan film EVER (marvel VS DC VS Alt Universe's) <-- Animated movie 40 minutes

    [/ QUOTE ]

That was epic. I can see all the fanboys whining about who lost to whom, but they will always whine. Plus, extra points for Wolverine being totally useless versus a real threat.
  11. So, are we stronger and prettier now?

It's Puerto Rican Spanish. What surprises me is that not every other word is in English.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hey, I resent that. That ain't true.

Ahore, si me dan un break, tengo que parkear mi minivan e ir a printear mi trabajo. Después, podemos hanguear si desean.
  13. Muy bueno, ahora yo puedré juegar desde mi casa con mis nachos y mis burritos y mi paella¡

disclaimer: native Spanish speaker that spent his entire life in Latin America, so don't send hate my way.
  14. Darn, now the Ebil Marketeers will always be able to control the market. We used to be able to buy stuff at decent prices when they went to work, but now with this nefarious invention, they will always be there.

    ::cries::

Will we ever be free from their ebil grasp?
  15. You can always hold weird contests. Like have a bunch of lowbies at the Atlas park gate in Hollows, run to the lower east side and have them reach you. Keep them in the team so you know they are not using travel power. Winner gets 1,000,000inf or something.

Or a themed costume contests. Announce that in 20 minutes you'll hold a costume contest for the best <something> themed hero. Winner will get some inf to the alt of their choice. Have people go to the character creator and make something up.

    I got nothing.

That's less people than it takes to run a burger joint.

    Puts things into perspective.

Cause I'm "special". Well, at least that's what my Mommy says.

Hahah, she didn't make you take the short bus to school did she?

She drove the short bus. :P
  18. What if PFF's defense was made like the stealth's defense suppression? Basically make it just like stealth and stalkers hide, sans the stealth part.

+Remove the "Can't Affect Others" so Dispersion can affect everyone.
+If player attacks, defense suppresses from whatever it is to 3% for 15 seconds (which is a lot in current combat time).

Code is already there. Only problem I see is that currently stealth's defense also suppresses if you are hit, and that would really be a problem for a PFFed character, as one hit will cause a domino effect leading to death.

This sort of follows the no Cottage rule. You can still use PFF just like you've always had (well, maybe Aid Self would cause suppression?), but it has a new functionality.
  19. Not sure about the disorient since it kinda never happens, but maybe lower the MAG of the KB (to make less of a mess) and make it animate faster (so it can actually save someone). Seriously, with 3-4 slots in force bolt, force bolt can do all Rep Bomb can, and faster and more reliable.

I am intrigued by the upping of pulses in Rep Field.
  20. You forgot to mention Repulsion Bomb's main drawback: its long animation time makes it almost impossible to control the knockback unless your 100% sure they will not move. This alone puts it very low on my list of powers to use.

With proper slotting, in the time Repulsion Bomb flies, you can pull off 2-4 surgical strikes with force bolt that are much reliable and controllable.

I love Repulsion Bomb's effect and my FF/Eng has it, but still, force bolt does it better with enough skill and slots.
  21. 1) Base Tohit/Def
PvP, no acc slotted: I like the 50% chance, it evens the fight, he has nothing, I got nothing.
PvE, I think it works fine, but 75% feels really low at TO levels.

    2) Max tohit / base def
PvE I think 95% chance to hit works fine.
PvP As the defender, if he's pumped up on to hit, he deserves to smack me around. But to hits are so easy to get, it would be only fair to give the defender a fighting chance, 90% perhaps?

    3) Base tohit / max defense
Same answer as in (2), but wuth 5% / 10%

    4) Max tohit / max defense
I expect things to even out all the way to the answer in (1), 50/50, fair fight. However, if the tohit/defense evens out to 50%, accuracy will really turn the tide in favor of the offender. So this should be taken into account.
  22. DARN It Madam Enigma... Why in heavens did you have to Necro this??!?!?

    Drops II

OK people, we need to breath in and breath out. Missing out of the story arc recipes is not that big of a deal if only a small ammount of exclusives are in there. We still have no idea how things are distributed.

And there's a reason why Optimus Prime came to the Rogue Islands, to promote trade amongst people.

If 25% or more of sets can only be completed with Story arcs, then my level 40+s will join in with the fiery pitchforks. If its something in the 10-15%, then I'll buy them or find alternate ways to obtain them.
