(I started redside on Infinity);
[/ QUOTE ]
You too?
To the OP.
Infinity Redside is active.
I also recommend joining a few infinity global channels depending on your inclination:
Infinity Badge Seekers
Infinity TF
Infinity Monsters
Infinity Farmers Union
Use the search function for global channels to find them (left-click in the chat window).
For VG's, I'm not the person to give advice. I rely a lot on my global friends list. I hate giving this advice, but:
Go to Cap, hop in AE, and start chatting to people on whatever teams you join. Your goal isn't xp or leveling, but to meet people. Given the myriad of players and VG's you will run into on each mess of a PUG of a single 50 leveling a bunch of needy lowbies, you'll get a good idea about how busy redside can be. It's less than ideal, but it's a quick way to get to make friends (and enemies). You will make friends in AE, because those doorsitters have nothing else to do but chat.*
(in other words, maybe you can take advantage of the current situation redside to make some friends, regardless of good or evil)
*Note: I don't doorsit. -
It still is odd that when a 3% defense IO is not a modded value but a 3% resistance value is modded, regardless of rationale. It is an inconsistency.
I have a hard time understanding why an Aegis unique is useful on anything, nor can I fathom spending purple prices on 2.5% global resistance. 6%, maybe.
I find it hard to believe that a squishy would be able to achieve significant resistance numbers if useful resistance set bonuses really existed to match the survivability of a soft-capped hoverblaster. -

...that the AE building in the RWZ seems really out of place?
[/ QUOTE ]
How about moving it to Cimerora?
That AE building is the only one I know of ingame where you can do cooperative AE. I suppose a AE simulator could be moved to Pocket D instead. -
There really is no 'correct' way to build your brute. Slotting for nrg defense can be very effective if you plan on hunting rikti, or a general build would just go for regen/recharge. Personally, I'd go for regen/recharge.
To begin with, there are many different paths you can choose to go on a WP brute.
-You could go for elemental defense sets, so you'd be looking at ST sets like 3-slotting part of it with Pounding Slugfest.
-You could go for recharge, which would be 5 slotting with crushing impact.
-You could go for regen, which would be a mixture of a lot of different sets.
-You could frankenslot for a cheap build. -
The short answer is it doesn't.
The KB and damage is actually from a pseudopet, which winds up getting the +recharge, not you.
edit: It is also per-target. On my SS brute, if I'm saturated, I usually get it to fire each time I use footstomp. -

DETAILS? Does it need to be big and red before people see it? Seriously.

That would be the Email button. -

semi-hyjack I was planning on playing my baby Elec/Elc Brute... can you slot attacks for endurance drain? Since we bascially just need ACC?
Can you count on the Endurance drain?
[/ QUOTE ]
End Mod in attacks do work better in PvE than PvP. With that said, I still prefer my enemies dead, but luckily with IO sets, you can combine end mod sets with damage sets for a well-rounded set of bonuses. In particular look at combining Scirroco with Performance Shifter. I won't recommend specific sets because there is so much tweaking you can do at this point in terms of what exactly you want to focus on.
For example, I can achieve nearly double the end drain, yet keep around 90% accuracy and 75% damage with slight benefits to recharge and endurance use. But remember, a build like that will cost a bit of infamy (I'll price it at around hmm 200 million on the current market). -
From the pictures, Anti-Matter doesn't have the antennae like Positron does.
I think it is supposed to be Posi, but they had to go with a stunt double as Posi gets airsick. -
[ QUOTE ]
That's not Posi, that's Antimatter :O
[/ QUOTE ]
So you're saying Positron didn't show up for the group photo and sent a double from another universe?
I stick by myface.

If you stack rage (which you can do with 3 SOs and quickness), you won't have to worry about the defense penalty of rage. If you are planning on hasten, with SR you have three click powers you're going to have to monitor - that's the only reason I never rolled a SS/SR.
-
It would help if you would post your build to see what attacks you took. Elec/Elec brutes can eat through endurance pretty quickly, depending on your attack chain. Also information like how many defensive toggles are being planned (the 3 of the set, and tough/weave?). If you run lightning field as well, you will be eating through endurance.
Chain Induction and Ball Lightning both consume a lot of endurance. Ball Lightning is just expensive, and Chain Induction is an attack you can spam pretty quickly, so that endurance gets spent quickly. -
As I logged in to the boards today, I noticed the banner at the top of the page, and noticed a few things.
Statesman is starting at you. I think I'd rather he not look at me.
Sister Psyche is staring at you as well but it seems like her right eye is infected. She should get that looked at.
And Posi... where to start?
Well, Positron is bobbing up and down, which immediately tells me he needs to be the center of attention, even though he's behind States (Sister Psyche found another way to grab attention).
But, even with his mask on, I know Posi isn't looking at me. Actually, it looks like he's looking just past my right shoulder. I checked, and I really didn't see anything that interesting behind my right shoulder.
I usually don't post frivolous topics, but this one I felt deserved mention. -

You can buy specific uncommon salvage items, for like... 50 tickets each, I think? IE, buy 10 or so of the one that seems to be selling for 100,000 per piece at the current moment. Put them up for sale at, say, 65,000 each. Come back tomorrow.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's 80 tickets, but that's still a large profit margin considering some uncommons can go for 1 mil redside. -
Can you repeat that again? You're either exceedingly clever at making points or incredibly dense. I can't figure out which one.
Especialy this:
[ QUOTE ]
Yeah I want that rage nerf already. Like no more stacking or remiving the accuracy buff or increasing the recharge by 50% I will drink the sweet tears of the complainers as they rage-quit and realize that I can finally start playing all of my /Kin characters again, secure in the knowledge that 90% of the "SB please. It must have run out because I'm herding all of these blue ink tsoo, ice blasters, or fortunata and my recharge is down for some reason."
[/ QUOTE ]
I hope that was sarcasm. I lightly mentioned the play on words of nerfing rage and ragequitting, but actually, hitting another farming set redside might just be enough to start looking for greener pastures. Heh, a farming metaphor.
[ QUOTE ]
Please please. I've been waiting for this for so so long. I like /Kin, please make all of these idiots who don't want to take the time to learn any game mechanics beyond SS goes pew pew and WP is easy to level. Please bring my PUG joy back.
[/ QUOTE ]
You're really serious? -
I would rather argue the lesson learned from the farming thread is that some topics shouldn't be discussed. No progress will really be made on the topic, other than battle lines are drawn. As farming is viewed as a playstyle, any such debate is an attack on what one would consider enjoyable or worthwhile. As such, it is highly unlikely that anyone would convince said farmers.
That thread doesn't need to be consolidated. It needs to be locked and any thread discussing it further, deleted. Those topics used to be whispered about in the shadows. Life was better then. -
I think nerfing rage would make me ragequit.

I am a min/maxer, moderate farmer/PLer, steamroller, badger on my main toons, marketeer, commander, and dual-boxer.
I want to be a PvPer (haven't spent more than 30 minutes in PvP) and a base builder. I'm slowly farming prestige while leveling and farming characters in my personal SG as a side benefit.
Dual Boxing is a playstyle when it is being used similar to a steamroller. What I will do is find a less-click intensive powerset/AT and a more click intensive AT. I will attempt to play both on two separate machines, focusing the majority of my attention on one. (I sometimes grab the wrong mouse and get confused) I do this for the more intense playstyle.
For example, I might pick a brute, which is very click intensive and needs my focus to maintain fury. I might pair it with a sonic corruptor or a /thermal or /pain mastermind that can have a PBAOE heal on auto while the pets are set to aggressive. I use my brute to maintain the aggro on me while the MM is on auto follow, mowing down everything I grab. During fights, I am busy mashing buttons on both computers, queuing up attacks and switching to the other one. When I really want a challenge, I run two brutes and monitor my fury bars to see how I do.
I farm/PL/marketeer because I am a min/maxer. Once you have designed these expensive builds, you realize it takes quite a bit of capital to outfit them. Although you do gain drops/inf playing the game as a casual player, you do not gain it efficiently enough to outfit the min/maxed characters within a lifetime. Hence, my motivations to farm are ultimately driven by the builder in me.
The greatest extension of a multi-boxer example may be Smurphy's personal superteam he builds. He plows through content on 8 accounts, making sure that the majority of those do not need his attention. This is perhaps best viewed as a combination of multi-boxing and superteams, similar to the RO network, which select specific AT/powersets for each player so that the combination of the players minimizes the risk of the entire team. I've always wanted to be in one of those for the feeling of true unstoppability as we steamroll the content. -
**Hurls the Spike_of_Death at the OP**
This is not the set you are looking for.
Move along. -
Since it sounds like you're going for a defensive build, look at kinetic combat for CI. You can 4-slot it for half the defense of Touch of Death and avoid the proc problem.

Castle and his crew were entirely consumed by custom critter powers in the 13-14 time frame. There's no dishonesty or secret agendas...there was just a lot of work that went in under the hood for Mission Architect.
There wasn't any time for powerset proliferation then, and with the work being done for future content, there's not really a lot of time to do it now. Proliferation is very low hanging fruit, but we're really jammed right now and I honestly can't say when we might be able to squeeze in another batch. What we need always ends up taking precedence over what we want, and right now there's a lot of need.

You realize this won't go over well, right?

For me, some tidbits of what is to come is usually enough to keep me calm and not scream MOAR POWAHS plz.
Going Rogue was kind of a nice tidbit, though a more solid planned issue release would certainly be nice. I don't mind waiting when I know I'm getting something nice.
/e wait. -

The "50% vs 95%" figure is only true if you're fighting mobs that have no accuracy or toHit buffs.
[/ QUOTE ]
...which I would guess would be the majority of what you fight in your career prior to hitting 50. There are mobs out there defense won't help against, but for most things, when that defense gets debuffed, you're looking at near double levels of incoming damage in PvE.
I don't care about the giant eyeballs and quartz crystals. There's a reason why most people hate both and avoid fighting them.
