    Same here - I saw the title and thought Nightcrawler. I have a couple of low lvl toons which would love a Combat Teleport pool.

    For balancing I would have the recharge rates for the Tier1 powers increased a bit otherwise they would be to easy to stack and make permanent.

    As for the cottage rule stuff - despite powers not being widely taken there is always someone who has and finds use for it. As Techbot says why not just add extra powers to pools and that way everyone is happy (much like when they added powers to the APPs/PPPs).

Besides... many of us americans can just hop into a car and harass their offices- you guys have a long plane flight or a swim ahead of ya.
    Which makes sense if it is two different people involved. However,the cases people are annoyed about here is when under the same Master Account they have two account names that are the same, one of which is an active EU account and the other an inactive US account.

    So despite those that own both an US and EU account they aren't being given the option to change the US account name despite it being under the same Master Account and being inactive. I am going to be in the same position with my second account which shares it's name with an inactive US trial account.

    Unless there are severe technical issues involved as described above those that are in the position above it would be good customer service to allow those in this position be given the oppurtunity to raise a ticket and have the inactive US account name changed before the server list merge.

    Edit - apologies for my terrible use of English there! Its never wise to post after being awake less than an hour!

    Cool - thanks Bull
  5. There are so many different things being affected here can I just clarify everything for my own sanity and hopefully others. There are the following layers:

    Master Account Name - this being the name you use when you log into the NCSoft website and can have several different accounts attached to it.

    Account Name - this is the name you use to login into the game with. You can have several different accounts (both EU and US) under one Master Account. This is the name that may be prefixed with EU if the EU account name clashes with a US one

    Global Name - this name is individual to each account and is used in game for people to contact you no matter which server you are on. Trial Account globals are being genericed however EU globals that clash with live US live globals are going to have their global name shortened by a character so they no longer class

    Is that right?
  6. I thought the two parter was great and good way to introduce a very spooky race and the arc of the series.

    I will say one thing about Moffat is that he is good at continuity of his stories so I believe that all the River Song stuff will come to pass (including her marriage to the doctor, giving her the screwdriver, becoming a professor). She also said that she has a spotters guide to the doctors faces so implies that she may be around for quite some time.

    Also I find it interesting that they have introduced a new little girl possible timelord when they have Jenny (the doctors daughter) running around the universe. I wonder if Moffat is going to do something with that.

    Anyway I can't wait for the rest of the series, even though they are doing the annoying thing of having a break in the middle of it all!!
  7. 1) Alpha - it is easy to unlock and easy to slot with a variety of options on how to do this. I like the BAF trial, not a huge fan of the Lamda, but I've never enjoyed doing the same content over and over so grinding to unlock and slotting the other incarnate slots is a slow process for me. Also it is so very flexible and can really make a character work. My Grav/Storm/Stone (which is my namesake and main toon) was always a complete endurance hog, particularly with long AV battles, but with the Cardiac slot it has removed that issue completely.

    2) Interface - having a proc that can go off with any damaging attack is great in my book. I particularly like the To Hit Debuff on my Grav/Storm who is slightly short on soft capping his Smashing/Lethal defence, so spamming Crushing Field and Freezing Rain really helps the To Hit debuffs stack up to protect me.

    3) Judgement - whats not to love about a super powerful AoE power that has a real 'boom' kick to it! Particularly like Ion and Void.

    Joint 5) Destiny + Lore - I've not tried either of these. If I had tried Destiny I am guessing that it would probably be joint 3rd instead as the buffs do look good. Lore would porbably still be last as I cannot think of anyway to get the Praetorian pets linked in with my characters concepts.
  8. I will throw in a vote of Shield/Electric tank.

    It is very easy to soft cap to all three positions with minimum investment (with no allies in range), gets a nice damage boost with Build Up and Against All Odds (AAO), AAO is also a great taunt arua and it can deal some impressive AoE damage with Shield Charge/Lightning Rod/Chain Induction/Thunder Strike.

    Also with the Mu PPP it can a ranged ST attack which hits quite hard and another AoE attack.

    So it should be good for badge hunting, a bit of farming (not the fastest but I can certainly run a x8 mission fairly quickly), is good for tanking on teams (although not taken him on many trials yet) and is generally an all round good fun toon to play.

    The only problem I've come accross is running x8 Devouring Earth missions, mainly because their eminators can boost their To Hit which means my soft cap doesn't protect me anymore.
  9. I will be staying on Defiant (it is my home server!!) but will probably be venturing onto the US servers for a look see and Tanker Tuesdays

  11. As someone else who is trying to get into Stalkers as well I can recommend maybe an Electric/Ninjitsu Stalker. After trying a few different combinations Im actually enjoying this one and am looking forward to the higher levels for the fun powers.

    I fell in love with Electric Melee after getting my Shield/Electric tank to 50. Chain Induction and Lightning Rod are two of my fav powers. I like the look of Ninjitsu because of its positional based defence (which I liked from Shield) and the self heal. I also like the look of the AoE plactate power and the confuse power later on. The only off putting power is the click mez protection but I learnt to live with that on my Shield tanker so it doesn't bother me.

    I have taken Plactate on this low level stalker when it became available and unlike with previous Stalker attempts I am using it quite often, where as previously I would save it for the big bad that never came along. I can understand Jibikao's point of having an extra attack but I make up for that with Sands of Mu vet reward which I use after lining up Jacob's Ladder. I have found with my other attempts at Stalkers (where I didn't use Plactate much, if at all) that I got bored because they just felt like a squishy Scrapper and I don't particularly like Scrappers much. I like Tanks because they are really tough and I like agro management, I am getting into Brutes because chasing the fury bar is addictive. Using AS and Plactate, for me, gives Stalkers something new and different which I don't particularly get with Scrappers.

    Anyway, thats my experience of Stalkers from someone else who is trying to get into them as well

    My Diamagnetic Tier 1 works with (well actually VERY well with) with my Freezing Rain power, which is a pseudo pet, on my Grav/Storm controller.

    I will go with what Necrotech says about it just being a Reactive bug, but Im not overly experienced with them all tbh.

    I just like smacking people in a head with a toilet with propel! And from the description of Propel you are essentially nabbing it from somewhere else - just imagine if someone was in the middle of using it!!!!

    I also love:
    * Chain Induction
    * Lightning Rod
    * Tornado
    * Lightning Storm
    * Wormhole
    * Rise of the Phoenix
    * Soul Transfer
    * Rain of Arrows
    * Oil Slick Arrow
    * Singularity
    * Fault
    * Seismic Smash
    * Freezing Rain
    * Dark Pit

    Ok better stop there - I like way to many powers!

    ...
    The Judgement slot is affected by the Alpha slot (well everything apart from Recharge from Spiritual) so you are getting a +45% damage.

    You mention Judgement and Lore are affected by Alpha. Nothing is said about Interface but I assume PROCs are freebies, but what about Destiny? Especially END wise? And, secondarily for me, Heal wise if I take the Healing destiny. (DMG and ACC don't seem to apply for Destiny anyways)
    Interface and Destiny are not affected by Alpha stuff. Judgement and Lore are. Except recharge.

    Is it just me...

    I see these threads pop up all the time but have never posted myself but in the end it always boils down to what people like to play. For example I just don't enjoy playing Blasters or Scrappers despite trying several times in both cases. And on the flip side one of my fav ATs to play is a Tank, and to me the extra strong defences and the ability to get everything agro'd on me is a lot more fun than just dealing out pure damage.

    People thought that certain ATs would become obsolete when GR came out and that didn't happen.

    And Ive never come accross a situation where people are being turned away from a TF/Team because of their archtype. Sure Ive seen cases where people have requested "buffs/debuffs" or "DPS" but in those cases they still accept someone even if they don't fit that requirement. Thinking about it the only time I see someone advertising for a specific AT is when they are looking for a Tank!!

    If this game was filled with people who only ever wanted to play a toon that performs the best then everyone would be playing certain particular ATs and Powersets, but thats just not the case. People generally play what they like when they like and there isn't any particular situations where specific ATs are needed.

    So after my mini-ramble, no in my experience I don't think Tanks are going the way of the Do-do

    Quote:
    For some reason, in the ITF I was just on the soft capped Blaster (Fire/MM, not surprisingly), was constantly stealing my Rommy And Friends aggro, even though I was spamming Taunt. I mean, I didn't drop below 50% once during the TF, but I believe it was in part because my aggro kept getting taken off me. Even while using all my AoEs, with Invinc up, and taunt on auto.
    And just to respond to this bit I just wanted to chime in that there is an agro cap for tankers (as with all ATs). What possibly could have been happening with Rommy situation is that you hit the agro cap with taunting the Roman's ambushes and the spawned Nictuses coming from one of Rommie's pals which may have allowed the agro be taken off you for a short period. Just a thought.

    Edit - And just to add an example of this I have been on teams with my Rad/Dark/Dark 'fender and can get quite a bit of agro away from a tank due to my toggles and my two mez auras but it usually happens when they dive in a try and heard a whole room.

  19. Well Defiant will probably stay as my main server as I never have problems getting a team when I want one and love the community but I am intrigued at exploring a few aspects of the US community.

    After a forum discussion regarding LGBT SGs a long time ago I found out about a group called the City of Gaymers who I believe play on Victory. I wouldn't mind getting in touch with them being an LGBT person myself.

    There is also meant to be the unofficial "EU" server on the NA list but can't remember which one that is!

    On top of that an SG friend of mine knows a few people on Justice so has mentioned possibly setting up the NA branch of GGRRR there.

    Then there is the NA Tanker Tuesdays. I tried starting up a EU version of this but it didn't really take off how I wanted but as an avid tanker lover I am going to try and tag along to few of those if I can as it will give me an excuse to roll some new tanks

    I know there is an hours time difference between the UK and mainland EU but what is the time difference between UK/EU and the various time zones in NA. Im not very good as figuring that type of thing out!!

    Well you could in theory slot 5 and get the standard recovery, accuracy and recharge bonuses and then slot the Pet one which gives very different set bonuses IRC
  21. Gravity/Trick Arrow/Stone controller could slot a fair few purples:

    Absolute Amazement (Stun) - Wormhole, Fissure
    Apocalypse (Ranged Damage) - Crush, Lift, Propel, Hurl Boulder, Gravity Distortion
    Fortunata Hypnosis (Sleep) - Poison Gas Arrow
    Gravitational Anchor (Immobilize) - Entangling Arrow, Crush, Crushing Field
    Hecatomb (Melee Damage) - Seismic Smash
    Ragnarok (Targeted AoE Damage) - Fissure, Crushing Field, Oil Slick Arrow
    Soulbound Allegiance (Pet Damage) - Singularity
    Unbreakable Constraint (Hold) - Gavity Distortion, Gravity Distortion Field, Seismic Smash

    The two that are missing are:
    Armageddon (PBAoE Damage)
    Coercive Persuasion (Confuse)

    But you've got to remember that the 'Rule of 5' will only allow you to get the same set bonus from sets 5 times so slotting 8 purple sets listed above you will have a well slotted power but will not get all the set bonuses.

    And thinking about it a blaster combination could probably get them all in but Im not very experienced with blasters so don't know a combo off the top of my head

    Edit - and beaten to it by Adeon!
  22. Just thought i would chip in with my STF story from last night.

    The team was relatively mixed. We had two blasters (one Ice/ and one DP), two tankers (one Inv, one Shield/Electric <= me), two illusion controllers (one of which was a /Thermal and the other a /Storm), a scrapper and someone else I can't remember!

    Anyway, we sailed through most the TF till we got to the 4 AVs in the last mission. We tried pulling one at a time but it didn't quite go to plan and we were facing all four. We tried just fighting all four at once, focussing on GW but that didn't quite work. So the Inv tank pulled Scorpion, Mako and Scir-thingy away while I tanked GW. I kepy in front of her (I was soft capped) while everyone else tried to stay behind. It wasn't the quickest fight but we did get her down in the end. I then grabbed agro of the others away from the Inv one at time and we just took them down that way.

    We then took out hte flyer and moved onto LR. Now he was a bit of a pain. At first we tried holding his attention with the PAs but whenever the despawned he would come and rip the team to shreds. Then the Inv tank tried taunting with the help of the Thermal but it didn't work and then the team started to lose a bit of focus and get frustrated (I know I was anyway hehe).

    We then decided I would hover taunt LR and the Ill/Therm controller would stay with me and heal me with cautorise as soon as I got hit with his ranged attack, and because LR was running around like an mad man trying some way reach me he didn't let it off that often. This was working (apart from one close call when I ran out endurance due to the -recovery on his ranged attacked) but thenunfortunately the flyer respawned so the Inv tank went and taunted it away so the others could take down the towers in peace. We took them all down then gave LR the beating he deserved!!

    The whole TF took us a couple of hours but I had a real sense of satisfaction at the end because we pulled together as a team and managed to adapt our strategies as we went along
