What AT could slot the most purple recipes?

My search-fu is weak this evening...

I was thinking about crafting a character whose express purpose is to be "purpled out."

But, since there are melee, PBAoE, ranged, hold, etc., etc... Different purple IO sets that don't fit neatly into one specific category, I wondered which of the ATs, hero or villain, could use the most or even <gasp> ALL of the purple IO sets.

So, conditions:

APP and PPP powers count.
One build per character (no switching to your second or [incarnate] third build to work them all onto one character).
Viability is important... After all, if one is going to spend 1-4 billion per power, then the damn AT better be awesome.

So, which one will it be?

An Electric/Mental/Munitions Blaster can slot all ten purple sets.

Ranged Damage: Lightning Bolt
PBAoE Damage: Short Circuit
Targeted AoE Damage: Ball Lightning
Melee Damage: Mind Probe
Pet Damage: Voltaic Sentinel
Confuse: World of Confusion
Immobilize: Subdual
Hold: Tesla Cage
Stun: Psychic Shockwave
Sleep: Sleep Grenade

Of course it wouldn't necessarily be a particularly good character since several of the powers aren't actually that useful when slotted with a purple (in particular Psychic Shockwave and Short Circuit benefit from different slotting).

EDIT: A Dark/Dark/Psychic Defender or Corruptor could also slot all 10 although for Hecatomb he'd have to either take the Fighting Pool or slot up Brawl.

Gravity/Trick Arrow/Stone controller could slot a fair few purples:

Absolute Amazement (Stun) - Wormhole, Fissure
Apocalypse (Ranged Damage) - Crush, Lift, Propel, Hurl Boulder, Gravity Distortion
Fortunata Hypnosis (Sleep) - Poison Gas Arrow
Gravitational Anchor (Immobilize) - Entangling Arrow, Crush, Crushing Field
Hecatomb (Melee Damage) - Seismic Smash
Ragnarok (Targeted AoE Damage) - Fissure, Crushing Field, Oil Slick Arrow
Soulbound Allegiance (Pet Damage) - Singularity
Unbreakable Constraint (Hold) - Gavity Distortion, Gravity Distortion Field, Seismic Smash

The two that are missing are:
Armageddon (PBAoE Damage)
Coercive Persuasion (Confuse)

But you've got to remember that the 'Rule of 5' will only allow you to get the same set bonus from sets 5 times so slotting 8 purple sets listed above you will have a well slotted power but will not get all the set bonuses.

And thinking about it a blaster combination could probably get them all in but Im not very experienced with blasters so don't know a combo off the top of my head

Edit - and beaten to it by Adeon!

If your mouse has greater processing power than your gfx card, the answer is yes.

I did something similar myself a while ago (never got the toon past lvl20 though, sadly)

The best I came up with was a Stone/Anything Brute (I went with /Inv)

Heavy Mallet - Hectacomb (melee)
Fault - Absolute (stun)
Seismic Smash - Unbreakable (hold)
Hurl Boulder - Apocalypse (range)
Tremor - Armageddon (PbAoE)

From there, choose almost any PPP to pick up another three sets
For example: Mu Mastery
Electrifying Fences - Gravitational (immob)
Ball of Lightning - Ragnarok (AoE)
Summon Striker - Soulbound (Pet)

Alternatively, you could choose Earth Mastery
Salt Crystals - Fortunata (Sleep)
Stalagmites - Ragnarok (Aoe)
Stone Prison - Gravitational (immob)

Either way, you'll easily break the rule of 5 a thousand times over, and you'll be forced into a few (not many, surprisingly) bad slotting choices (Seismic Smash is the worst offender), but you'll get 8/10 Purples with a good AT.

Fortunatas are similar, but thanks to Aura of Confusion, they can slot Coercive (confuse), for a total of 9/10 Purples. Unfortunately, you still will have to choose between the Pet purple and the Sleep purple based on your APP/PPP.

There's a few that can slot all 10.
One example that doesn't have to opt for a power's secondary effect anywhere (e.g. stun in Fissure - my first thought was Plant/Earth Dominator) is Sonic/Mental/Mu Blaster:

Ranged - Shriek, Scream, Howl, Subdual
Immob - Subdual, Electric Fences
Targeted AoE - Howl, Shockwave, Psychic Scream, Static Discharge
Melee - Mind Probe, Telekinetic Thrust
Sleep - Siren's Song
Stun - Screech
Confuse - World of Confusion
PBAoE - Dreadful Wail, Psychic Shockwave
Pet - Summon Adept
Hold - Electric Shackles

with the "law of 5" in place I don't see any reason to slot ...more than 5.

I mean.... unless you want to waste your inf.

Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.

Well you could in theory slot 5 and get the standard recovery, accuracy and recharge bonuses and then slot the Pet one which gives very different set bonuses IRC

Doms can generally slot a ton of purple sets due to having all the kinds of powers that purple sets are made for (mezzes and damage). It would probably require slotting some powers oddly, but I know it can be done. I've done it before (in mids, not in the actual game).

Damn, rule of 5... I had forgotten...

This is some good reading!

Doms could slot all "six," that is five of the basic ones and then the pet one. But the pet one isn't that impressive; I tend to slot the new RIP set in its place for a 6.25% rech bonus.

Doms have all forms of attacks (melee, range, PBAoE, and ranged AoE), as well as having easy access to immob, stun, hold, confuse, and sleep. So make a dom and take your pick.

You can actually go to 7,

5 that give the normal 4% recover , f/c resists, 15% accuracy and 10% recharge
any number of the pet set
4 of Apocalypse, which is only affected by "rule of 5" at the 5th slot
