The reactivation weekend next week should really be a double XP weekend....

My 10 yr old started playing when she was 7 and hit 50 on her first tank (!) when she was eight. Now she has moved on to much simpler games, such as panfu. I am trying to convince her to play again, but has only managed once when she was mildly interesting in what Going Rogue had added to the game.

Recall friend seems to me my only natural choice, then it will depend on the toon in question, but 95% of them will get Recall Friend

I tend to think of cool superhero names at the strangest times, so I actually keep a list of names. That way, when I design a new hero (which is often, I have a severe case of altitis) I just pick a name of the long list of cool names.

However, I have an advantage in that I am not an English native speaker, so I can choose a name in my native Swedish that I think fits the character very well and often it is not taken (naturally).

I have 462 toons over six accounts. I used to have one of every hero archetype primary/secondary combo, but it has become impossible to keep up.

My current goal is to get them all over lvl 11 so they can hold 10 recipes (maybe 30 or so are not lvl 11 yet). I log in every 40 days (sometimes more often) on each of them that are on active accounts (I sometimes let a few accounts drop) and trade with them, move them to new day job badges etc

I think I have quite severe altitis :-)

About 20 of them are lvl 50. Have been playing since June 2008.

I find myself reactivating my extra accounts due to Going Rogue, so I am now running four accounts instead of one. Nice product, Paragon Studios!

Firekins that have picked Increase Density are not building for farming, where it is quite useless compared to the alternatives. I have too many firekins and I have not actually picked that power very often.

Ok, so now the game loads, everything looks great in good graphics, but when I select a character and want to play, the zone window starts loading and never finishes. After a while, I am thrown out back to the login window.

So now I can't play at all. What to do?

This is fairly similar to the problems I am having, although it sometimes load in minimum graphics (despite me setting it to high graphics), but the last few times I have tried it does not load at all.

A Windows 7 compatible City of Heroes would be nice :-)

I am experiencing another problem with Windows 7 that I have not seen before on this forum.

Just installed it this morning.

My problem:

* City of Heroes loads extremely slow, but it does load, from character selection to actual game play, it may take 5-10 minutes to get in
* Graphics is running at the lowest possible resolution, even though I have set the highest in City of Heroes options

Basically the game looks like crap and loads very slow.

I have tried

* Compatability mode (XP sp 3 or Vista sp 2)
* Desktop composition disabled
* Run as administrator

I run in Windowed mode.

I am fairly non-computer savvy. What else can I do to get the nice gameplay that I had in Windows Vista (sp 2)?

Good that you are taking college seriously. Maybe you can do what I did - take college and then five years at university, get a high-paid position, advance and then finally become the CEO so you can read the COH forums at work while others are working their butts off to get you the cash you so well deserve :-)

One thing I wanted to throw out there: In the original Rolemaster RPG rules, you received a x5 xp bonus the first time you killed an enemy of a particular kind, a x2 bonus for the 2nd-5th time (I think) and then normal xp. Maybe something like that could be implemented (as a bonus or a penalty) for repetetively killing the same enemies?

After all, if xp is supposed to simulate actual experience, then less must be learnt the billionth time you defeat a Maniac Slammer, compared to the first time.

And while I am at it: Why do your SG earn prestige for something you do inside a simulation? If the AE is only a game for the superheroes to play while they are not out there to save Paragon City from real (from their perspective) enemies, how come the SG becomes famous and gains prestige in the city?

Maybe I am just getting stuck on the word "prestige" which could probably have been "super group points" instead :-)

I am involved in Scandinavian SGs on Virtue and Freedom (the Virtue one is the most active).

Make a Scandianvian global channel and I will promote it (and join it).

I know a lot of poor Scandinavian people on the EU servers, but I went for the US Servers myself as that's where the players are.

I am Swedish myself.

I am male, playing 60% female and 40% male toons. However, as someone noted above, my main is male so my play time is probably split 50/50 among the genders. Often, that is a real 50/50 split when I am dualboxing

About the Ghost-Slaying Axe, I read recently in a guide that redraw is a myth and that the redraw time is actually included in all animations (which is why there is often a very small delay to attacks). Anyone that can confirm this?

Think it was in a trick arrow guide that stated that nothing was gained by going Trick Arrow/Archery as redraw did not cost any additional time.

Are these just radios with music or do some actually have City of Heroes-related content? I used to play a lot of poker and listen to poker podcasts such as Two Plus Two Pokercast and Pokerroad and would love a similar show for City of Heroes

I have 14 months of veteran time on my account right now, so yes, I have reached 12 months

As I am in Sweden, I have several friends that picked up City of Heroes that I would like to play with, but they are all on the EU servers as they did not think this through before buying the game. I was lucky enough to think a bit and realized that being on the EU servers would be really stupid and went for a US account.

If the games were merged so that everyone could play on all servers, I would be very happy, as I would be...
... able to play with more of my IRL friends
... getting more character slots for my altitis
... happy for the people on the EU servers who would now have more people to team with.

So go right ahead and merge the games, plz
