I guess it is all a matter of perspective.
I had bought the DVD Collector's version of COH, with the nifty prestige power slide and cape. My son, a few months later, was only able to obtain the CD version. But over the years he desperately wanted all the extras you could only get from the DVD version. So desperate he was willing to let me spend $80 on Amazon to buy it for him. Of course I didn't. As time went on we were able to obtain a copy when they were being sold for $5 at discount stores. He was excited to FINALLY get a hold of it. Did he struggle to obtain that in-game as a reward? No. But his patience was well rewarded when he was able to use real money to buy what he couldn't obtain in-game.

I had a friend who quit the game years ago. He wanted to pass to me all his inf ("all the inf I would ever need"), which was about 8 million. This was before email and before they raised the trading cap. Took quite awhile to do this. Times sure have changed.

Back when books were cheaper it was fun to look for the tie-ins. Now it's not as practical.

Comics, to me, is a personal thing. There are many different aspects that attract people. The collectibility of a book, the art, the story, the theme, etc. I'm a mixture of all.
Quote:I think that is a cool format that I understand is bringing in more readers. I'm old-school and love to have the book in hand, flipping through one page at a time. I'm also a collector and get excited when I can add a copy that I was missing.Well, having just recently started getting back into reading comics, I will say I'm loving reading them on my iPad through the Comixology app.
I think you need to figure out what it is that might interest you. In addition to the above, is there a certain art style that grabs you? Is there an adaptation from another media that you are interested, like a movie or TV show? Are you into collecting books on characters you might have grown up with (GI Joe, Casper, Star Wars)?
One area to dive into in a comic store is the bargain bins. You might want to grap a variety of books on the cheap to sample them.
I hope you enjoy! -
Quote:I just check the New Posts link up above to see when the last post was. After a few minutes of no updates you get the idea of what's up.That's happened a few times in the past. A good way to figure out if that's what's going on is to check a couple busier sections of the board and see when the last post was... if none of them have had any new posts in similar to the same amount of time, then it's a fairly safe bet it's not just you.

Chrome is not working for me. Firefox is. I think I had a similar problem last week, but don't think it lasted too long.

When they started making the echos I made sure that my villain group had the SG beacon badge for those zones as I was afraid they wouldn't be accessible any more. Not that having the badge means anything, but I collect.

While I applaud the intent, not sure how necessary this really is. Of course this is from my experience, but in my efforts to reach level 50 I can earn enough along the way to be able to afford whatever I want. And, unless I'm mass producing, it isn't often I find myself needing multiples of low level salvage so the occasional 10K per luck charm won't break me. And as others have suggested, by keeping the prices low, you are cutting off one of the biggest sources of income for low level characters of players that don't dabble in the markets or the "noob" that isn't even aware of that aspect of the game.

Enhancements. Fortunatas, Absolutes. ALL the crafted ones seem to be hovering around the same mark.

Confuse Duration/Recharge - last sold for 300 mil. It's madness, I tell you.

Chiming in with my disappointment, too. The vet badges used to be a fair indication of the length of time in the game a player had. Now we only have the annual badges for this, but not really.

Now I have to sit and visit with the family . . .

Feed the Gerbil! Dooooom! And all that.
Even the forums are sluggish. -
It shows that someone defeated a Shivan so I'm guessing in the tutorial, and he is still level 1, so not ready to leave yet.

Wasn't there also a bug or exploit where you could convert +'s by a certain trading method, or respec (something I had heard so not sure of the details) so a 50++, as an example, would become a 52?

Kudos to the mystery benefactor. And they say the marketers have no soul.

I was the recipient of a 30x30 a week or so ago. I have since sold a LotG special crafted for $150 mil and a BotZ special crafted for $135 mil. I have one more LotG that I posted, and various others pieces
The first 10 that I received, in general, were quite sad, but I had some nice recipes after that. I'm sure to break even at the very least, and am anxious to see how much ahead I will end up.
