    An idea...

It depends on what I am working with, I guess. If and when this thing gets a title a finished character design and a tag line maybe, I would be more than happy to try my hand at whipping some sort of logo together. I love messing in PS.
  2. Also, Mr. Incredible from The Incredibles.
  3. Totally agree with you. I like to spend the first minute or so on each character setting up my various trays and binds for, pretty much, the rest of that character's life... unfortunately I can't finish until level 5ish.

(Although, I got around this issue by using a Pop-Menu for all the accolade powers and other awarded powers like the Mission TPer... I can place the Macro button at level 1, and then I just wait until the power unlocks and then I can use it via the popmenu. Plus, this has the added bonus of not cluttering trays as much.

    YES!

    Totally my thoughts on it.
I found probably one of the funniest bits was with the bar that emptied as he used the bathroom. It was just so completely out there and superfluous that I loved it.

Usually, I have a problem with suspension of disbelief with movies set in the "real world" but this one started with the crazy early enough that I got used to it. And used it often enough that it was simply how things worked in this "world" and the times when they actively acknowledged the weirdness helped a lot for me. (Like asking the one girl why her mouth did that when she swore.)

Nope... I will still avoid them both like the plague (that they are).
  6. I don't have any opposition to going Vigilante on Bulwark... in fact, in his current mood, I can see that being a very logical step for him.

However, I don't know how I feel about basically starting over with the same character in Praetoria. I wouldn't want to re-play either set (I try to not do that) so I don't know what type of character he would be. I think we will have to discuss this further as a group.

Also, remember that Nox's player would like us to meet in the SG base for a "meeting" presumably with Amira Nandelu, FBSA Liaison to the PCSF. From there, tip missions could be a great deal of fun.

By "two" I assume you mean five, right?

    Overguard
    Sport
    Resistance
    Clockwork
    Praetorian Police

And yes, the option to buy two more.
  9. Saist... seriously?

I think, again, you are looking at this issue too narrowly, and letting your personal bias only allow you to see points that strengthen your view.

    1) The Developers are very capable, and are perfectly able (in my appraisal) to create animations that are unique and at the same time less "flashy."

    2) There is no need to make a new set, when all one has to do is alter the animations. (Yes, this would have the detriment of making the new animations seem to take awhile, in some cases.)

    3) Each power DOES NOT need to have a unique alternate animation. You said yourself that the Devs want the default animations to be unique... not necessarily the custom ones.

    4) Adjusting damage has absolutely NO place in this discussion. It is a foregone conclusion that animation times cannot and will not be changed via customization. There is precedent to support this, not to mention a direct statement from Castle in the thread you linked to.

    5) You mention powers like Fire Sword Circle, but neglect to mention sets like Martial Arts and Super Strength that basically were given COMPLETELY new animations. This would go to belie your point about changing cosmetic items, but being unable to change the physical animation due to time constraints of those animations.

    6) Stating that because the Developers made a gun-fu set is proof (or implies) them not being able to come up with 8 more "standard" shooting animations is ridiculous! It would seem to me, that they simply didn't WANT to. After all, if your job is an artistic one, like an animator's is, than why would you WANT to make "boring" animations when you could make it unique and visually distinct from anything else in the game?

    What?!

A super jumping motorcycle? I was not informed that someone created ramps COVERING the CoH/V/GR world(s).
  11. I had a character on Freedom once... sort of as a test to see if I could stand it over there. I saw and heard more petitionable offenses there in like 5 minutes than I did on my home server in a month. I was rather annoyed, also, by my experience on a Sewer Team.

I deleted that character after that first day. First impressions, they last a long time, and you never get a second chance.

To me, it was only terrible if you think it was an alien movie. It was not. It was a movie about faith, and things happening for a reason.

I should think a more likely translation would be "System Nominal." I.E. nothing to report.

It may be referring to "Nova Praetoria" in and of itself.

If not, then it's a bytecode instruction, short for "no operation." It's basically a way to make the processor do nothing for a given number of cycles. Back in the olden days, this was handy for timing code, but you don't see it as much anymore.
I seem to recall putting code like that in a program I wrote in BASIC to ostensibly slow down the speed of a loop that was executing. No idea what it actually was, it may have simply been extraneous operations.

The official feedback thread on Electric Control would be a MUCH better place. I assume that with the NDA lifted, that folks have access to these boards.

I don't see ANYTHING in that quote that could remotely be construed as "emphatic." Also note, that you were disputing the differences between different kinds of "no" and that the statement I had in quotes was meant to illustrate emphaticness and be a paraphrase, NOT a direct quote I was expecting to find as might have been implied by the quotes.
  16. The first link in your last post works just fine.

Hmmm, I don't see Positron saying "We will not ever merge the markets!" in that post though.
  17. That link doesn't seem to go anywhere...

I've noticed that some of the Inner Symbols in this pack are off center or too big and look somewhat odd in game. Though, of course, the effort to make them is appreciated, I went back to using Neo's original ones in this thread.

  20. This might sound like some sort of high treason or blasphemy, but I have flirted with deleting my lvl 50 Fire/Kin. He was fun to play, but I haven't touched him in months aside from logging in to give him the animated lizard tail, and to move him around for Day Jobs and so that he doesn't look too unused in the SG he's in.

And to top it off, I still have 4 more slots (5 after GR) on that server and have yet to buy any.

That is precisely why I never played a Demon Summoner... and why I will be waiting to roll an Electric Controller for a good while after GR. However, I can't pull myself away from the Praetorian concept duo that involves Kinetic Melee...

I dunno... I think it captures the spirit pretty well.

And yes, I am quite sure that the image is an EARLY rendition and some additional passes of editing and design still need to be done. Especially with regard to the look of his costume... it looks like skin.
  23. I rarely use those pieces... so I hadn't noticed. I did just do some extensive floating of stairs in a base I am working on, and didn't see a problem with them. I suppose it could be unique to the ramps. I shall have to check that out when I get a chance.

    3 years? Really?

AE and MA are both used for the Mission Architect stuff. Context usually keeps things unconfused with regard to Martial Arts.
