I managed to get a really cool screenshot of Vanessa's psyche leaving the bodies of some defeated Carnies: Here

Back when I took it, I thought it was funny that the Strongman had a female spirit leaving his body, but now I get it!

I really love the Carnies conceptually. Every time I'm on an outdoor mission with the big tents, I stop by them for a few seconds and listen to the music.

Sign me up for team two with Corrupted Mind (currently lvl 35 fire/rad). I don't know if I'll get her any higher than that this week, but I'll happily take a sidekick either way.

That is, as far as I know (unless they fixed it while I was gone and now it's re-broke), a longstanding bug. The graphics don't always update but they do get their extra powers. And sometimes the graphics flicker back and forth between the outfits for extra fun.

Many, many MMOs operate on the monthly fee model. Go take up the banner for lifetime subscriptions over on the WoW forums; I suspect you'll get about the same reception for your idea that you're getting over here.

Companies lose money on lifetime subscriptions, generally speaking. It's why LiveJournal very rarely sells permanent accounts. Dreamwidth, a similar-in-concept site, just recently wrapped up their sale of permanent accounts, and they'll never be offered again (specifically because they lose money over time because of them). No, those are not MMOs, and they do offer free accounts, but they also don't provide the level of entertainment that CoH does (well, I guess that could be argued , but a blogging site is not a videogame, either way). It's just an example of how companies have flat-out admitted that selling permanent subscriptions is not a great business model.

City of Heroes also continually releases free issues every few months with good chunks of added content. In that, compared to games like WoW where every expansion is a paid one, we're pretty lucky.

When I send someone a tell, I expect them to read it and to respond it. If they don't, I assume to don't like/don't want to hear from me so I write them off. I hold myself to the same standard. If you send me a PM or a tell, I take the time read it and to respond.

Not everyone will bother to say anything. It's not worth the hassle, simpler just to put folks on ignore.

I will say, sometimes I get tells when I'm in the costume editor or respeccing, or just when I've walked away for a few minutes. I try to respond to everything once I realize it, but there are times when I just miss tells here and there. Doesn't always mean the person is ignoring you deliberately.

(On a side note, part of me wishes we could get timestamps on some of these things, too.)

Does Manticore have a British accent? I know he was raised by his English nanny, and his background states that his father was a hero in England, so there's a possibility he retained some semblance of an accent.

Yeah, I ran a Sister Psyche TF sometime after Manti last week on the same character, and had the same end-of-TF crash at the end of it, along with at least a few others. We did not have the issues from the Manticore TF on this one, so it does appear the crash at the end is something different.

I was one of the two who ended up on a different mission map. We just went ahead and started killing stuff too, and then the exit mission button didn't work at the end. I just died to get out of it.

It was pretty bad, though. The first two mission door crashes, I had to ctrl-alt-delete CoH and restart, but luckily I didn't have any further problems on the TF. Well, except at the end when the game crashed on exiting the final mission. I thought it was a good capper to the way the TF started. I didn't get notification of any merits, but I'm pretty sure I did get them (can't remember the amount I had beforehand).

Tumbler, look me up too if you want to run it again. I'm sorry you never could get back in sync with us! I'm @Thessalia.

Usually. Procs in non-aggro, non-damaging powers, like Smoke Grenade or Surveillance is a BAD thing, because the proc will cause the powers to start generating aggro.

I was wondering about this. I put a Malaise's Illusions: Chance for Psi damage in my ill troller's Deceive, and it doesn't aggro when it procs on minions/LTs/bosses. But I've tried to confuse a few EBs and it seems to aggro them at random (ie, not when it procs, and not all the time). I don't know, but it's probably related to the proc.
