Fury Flechette: How'd you get that little Inf window? I wantee.

I'm mainly surprised that your D&D group hasn't heard of reversible Cleric spells, I guess you haven't played in an anti-hero party of adventurers. One time springs to mind when I did, our group consisted of an all Evil (choose your variety) party of a Cleric, Thief and assorted Fighters. We'd been sent to investigate an ancient temple in the mountains and when we arrived thought it prudent to send in our Thief to scout things out. So the Thief sneaks off while the rest of us wait outside. He's been inside for all of a minute when next thing we know there is a huge explosion, alarms ring out and smoke pours from the temple entrance.
The Thief returned to the group with tail between his legs obviously having achieved the opposite of a sneaky recon. Not only that, but he had the audacity to ask for healing. So my Evil Cleric obliged, in reverse. One Cause Serious Wounds spell later and the Thief was no more. The look of surprise on the players face was priceless.
As for your idea of reversible Heals in Co*, I think like Catwhoorg said, that it would require some serious balancing before it could be implemented. Perhaps in the meantime you could create a Dual-build with one designed for teamplay with the emphasis on heals, and one for soloplay where you've done as much as possible to lay it heavy on the attacks.
Now, Go, Play, Evil, D&D. -
At the moment only scattered reports from recon bots are coming in, interference from the overground forces is strong. Somewhere, out there, Cole lords over his pretend utopia, and in another world we wait for the timestream to unfold.

Thanks for all the replies and best wishes. I hope everyone's enjoying themselves and I look forward to PUG'ing with you in 2010.
Cheers! -
Merry Christmas to all! I can reliably inform you from my secret bunker in the future that it was good.
We can haz Going Rogue now? -
As I probably won't be online on the day I'd like to say Merry Christmas and all the holiday seasons best to all the players and the development team of Co*. I hope you all have a great break and all that other sentimental stuff.
Rock on Paragon! -

Auto-reply FTW. Easy, cheap, non-labour intensive. Do it.
On the subject of map spawn points, reading this thread has really taught me a few things. I've got a buggy first mission which played fine 5 times out of 5 for me, but two other players couldn't complete it due to a failed destructive object spawn. Think I might go take out a few zombies! -
I think trying to determine any definition of what a "new" author might be is fraught with peril and doomed to failure. An alternative might be to have an entire different competition for new authors (who define themselves as such) with lesser rewards and kudos. If established authors enter these novice awards, sure they might win, but wouldn't their time be better spent entering the full awards. This is all of course in relation to the MA Player Awards and wouldn't help much outside that scope.
On the topic of Risk vs Reward in MA, Exp seems to be the be all and end all for most recent players I've tried to run through my arcs. On two attempts last week the team collapsed as players wanted to do something with more Exp. So, it does seem likely that if rewards were standardised with those outside MA then more players would play AE missions. I'm still in this for the story-telling (which I'm learning fast I've got lots of room for improvement in) and the creative aspect. Lots of players just want the phat loot. -
Happy Holidays Dr. Aeon! I hope you get a chance to wind down after a few whirlwind months of cat-wrangling here on the forums. And to my fellow architects also, happy holidays!

Most U.S residents, those from Canada, and those in the U.K can enter is what I'm reading. No N.Z yet. I'm sure we're next.

Played the Beat the truth out of Dr. Aeon arc from Efficiency Expert Pither last night. One thing I noticed which seemed out of place, and as far as I noticed unexplained, was the inclusion of Jaegar bots, marked as Nemesis minions in Dr. Aeon's lab. This seems relevant to this discussion.
Paragonwiki link here.
Curious. -
DJ Zero = Dr Aeon = Nemesis = Mender Silos. It's all in the hair people!

I quite liked the idea of having the civilians fight back a little mentioned upthread. Maybe if a Skull/Hellion mugging happens in a place where NPC civilians are walking by they could gang up on the gang members, imagine a group of 10 civvies surrounding a Skull, he wouldn't look so tough then would he!

There's also the slim possibility of the heroes doing the honourable thing when faced with an opponent they could wipe the floor with, they leave them to the lower level heroes to tackle, a fair fight. It's unlikely, but might account for some players behaviour of this nature.
I'd agree with those who've talked about the heroes being there for temp powers and when faced with a PVP situation just exiting the situation rather than either, a) ruining your PVP stats by smearing you across the nearest building or b) having to participate in something they don't enjoy. -
I've submitted a couple of new arcs I've put together. They are;
- Enter Japes, ArcID: 96001
- In The Darkness Creeping, ArcID: 347709
I look forward to seeing your review. -
I got to listen to the archive of the show with no technical issues. You were very lenient on my first effort, A Spanner In The Works. I admit it is full of newbie mistakes and I've learnt from them.
So, I have submitted;- Enter Japes, ArcID: 96001
- In The Darkness Creeping, ArcID: 347709
I look forward to hearing your reviews. -

I think "/bind tab targetenemynear" (binding targetting nearest enemy to Tab key) works for me. There are all sorts of crazy things you can do with targetting.

Hi Sam, the reason I asked about the microphone was because the mp3's you linked sounded like it was feeding back the sound it was hearing through the microphone from the speakers as it was played. Of course this may be the *way too easy* solution, but it's what I would have tried first.
