Agreed. I also think the price for costume pieces is way too high (so far). I am glad the unlock is account-wide but the price is still too high.

I really wish the devs would poll us on items being added. This recent bunch of stuff is pretty weak. The canon/lore/story behind these trials is beyond weak.

I do like the look of the new costume pieces and it is about time we got something added. Outside of booster packs, we haven't had much at all lately.

It also may help if Tin Mage and Apex rewarded iXP and incarnate salvage drops at a reduced rate (compared to the trials). It would be an alternate to the trial grind.
  4. It is interesting to see so many people speculate and go on without the slightest idea of NC Soft's actual thoughts regarding the viability of this game. Does anyone have any idea of what NC Soft considers viable? The CoX sub numbers? Etc etc etc.

Anyway, I love the raids but the theme behind them really stinks. It has driven away a good friend but I am sure he'll be back Do these Praetoria trials to unlock our super-duper powers? Maybe for a couple but we need other areas. Come on devs, use your imagination and give us something wild and new.
  5. Terrible finale. Big build up for a lame climax. The usual for this series. Such potential and it was never realized. The only cool part was the very end with the music... the classic Superman theme...it gets you going. Other than that the show's climax was horrid.

Sorry this show needs to end. Its suffered from poor writing and acting for some time now. Seriously think about it, we have spent now 20 episodes of this year waiting for a Dark Side battle. We have had 20 hours of TV and gotten maybe 2 crappy cgi shots of DS, introduced 3 villians of his that have had little to no development since introduction and 1 cast member has a omega imprint on their head. That is pretty much all the development they have done to their final seasons story arc in 20 hours. And i thnk about 4 hours had been devoted to weather or not clark should wear glasses or not.

Now because of the need to give a final handy to the fanbois they are taking the last 2 hours cramming into it the return of lex and the final battle with darksied, ya im not holding my breath. Infact im more excited to finally be rid of it. I know i can stop watching but call it a personal defect that i cant give up on a show i have watched so much. I had the same feeling about the last couple years of the Xfiles also. To much time invested to quit it even though it was sucktacular.

But seriously with all the Darksied stuff, they havent even introduced the planet apokolypse at all, not development of his staff or subordinates, no development of his wanting to turn Superman into one of his to control and follow him. Nothing, i mean has the ****** CGI darksied even said a word yet at all? What should have been a epic final season is just going to be a 30 second Doomsday fight again.
A lot of this is the same way I feel on the show. I also saw a lot of potential in the series but it never came to be. Each show often has great build ups to what should be a great finale to the episode but it never happens. It was very disappointing. They have you intrigued for most of the show and then the big booming finale turns out to be a fizzled firecracker. This was the usual formula and it happened over and over. I am surprised this show went 10 years. Having said all that, I'll be watching tonight
  7. Does anyone know the min. specs for CoH2? I am stoked! I am starting to build my new comp! Should be all set for a the late summer release of CoH2! Excelsior!

    Game population

I've always been curious about the actual number of players/subscribers. I don't know why it is such a big secret but the NC Soft people do not want to let us in on the actual numbers (they really don't want to let us know much of what is going on behind the scenes but oh well).

I think there are more people playing now than in recent history but that's just based on observations. I think some people also report there are a few 'dead servers' (whatever that means). It'd be nice to get a real picture of player pop.

I can see those comparisons but I am not exactly sure about them... In any event, my main issue is we are building our 'incarnate' heroes and not really doing anything too epic. The two trials really lack an epic feeling. We fight around a research facility and a weapons depot. We fight a few AVs and a bunch of robots - we see all of this on various other areas of the game. Nothing unique, epic, special or too memorable about these two trials. Ah well.
  11. It's pretty sad to have just these 2 trials at this time. You would think they would provide the iXP and rewards on the Tin Mage and Apex as well and maybe even other level 50 TFs/SFs. These very non-epic trials are fun but not so awesome that they should be the only source of making significant strides towards our incarnate abilities. It is also sad that, to become incarnates, we need to go through Praetoria and that content. Not cool.

When do we get to fight some crazy awesome enemy that is going to destroy the world? Where is our Galactus? Our Dr. Doom? Etc. etc. etc.
  12. 1) Scrap the new zones idea. We have way too many and most of those are kinda dead. Use the new art to re-vamp the old hero TFs (like almost all of them) but start with one in i21 and maybe do one per issue.

    2) Some decent costume pieces. Also we were told back in October we were getting a lot of NPC costume pieces too (not all but a lot). What happened to that idea?

    3) Stop adding Praetoria stuff for now. Add something different for a bit.

    4) I am curious to see the new innovation they talked about (to solo and level your incarnates) so that might be worth seeing.

    5) Stop adding low-grade/low-quality stuff. By that I mean constant use of the same old maps etc. It might be nice to make more super stuff and epic stuff (Sutter TF is a battle amongst battle ships and old enemies - not that great. The new SF was just weak to look at and had some very dull enemies in it).

One request, can we get Incarnate Trial content that is not related to Praetorian content? Maybe a more sinister dark fantasy bent like Rularuu?? Or challenging the ancient gods related to the Well. Something else?

Beating up on the same robots gets old.
Yes. I like this idea and would like to one up it. How about we have a smash 'em up fight with an ACTUAL supers feel?! Can we get THAT instead of making us feel like we're playing D&D or something like that?! Can we?! HUH?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
  14. I was hoping these costume pieces would be more like the 'steampunk' stuff shown on the GR concept art page. These are rather so so.

Not sure they will...incarnate powers help make your toon pretty super and reduce the need to high end IOs. I have not bought any expensive IOs in quite a while. I PvE and it just isn't needed. Plus crafting is one of the things I hate most about this game (almost as much as the repetition ) so I don't miss doing it less. I have a 50 which is almost all enhancement drops and it plays well

basically praetoria is building up to a climax, those who dislike it arent going to like it, those who do will continue to enjoy it. as per Prometheus, the coming storm is still looming, so we will likely see some new thematic direction soon, but like any comic book that is doing a continuing storyline, it takes time to finish up.
Well I do agree with you in the point where stories need to be concluded/continued. However, CoX issues don't come out too quickly so it can't be at the same pace as a most comics. They should really move the shorter plots along a lot quicker but that's just me.

I do like a lot of the new content but when you get slammed with the same stuff over and over...well...it tends to lose it's appeal. Too much Praetoria and not enough epic, IMO

Maybe, down the road, we can have world saving events/other factions unlock our slots. Enough with the Praetoria stuff I know there are a couple of other trials coming with Prae but after that I hope we can have some other stuff.

Oh no that is quite ok. No need to apologize. It wasn't your fault.

On top of not requiring you to apologize, allow me to clarify my post. I am obviously not very bright and I have come across one our generations most brilliant individuals in you. So, obviously, I have I did not make my point.

My concern is stopping a science lab and weapons depot is a significant enough event to unlock our god-like powers. Sure, we battle giant robots and some AVs but the actual event is stopping a weapons depot and a experimentation facility with the subjects escaping.

The Sutter TF is to stop yet another wave of the Goatees from invading Primal Earth. The environment is kinda blah and not too exciting. The SF just seems like something underwhelming.

Again, I humbly apologize for having my own thoughts and opinions. I don't know what I was thinking. I clearly must not have a fully developed brain...how could I...I made a comment that did not agree with yours. What a fool I am. Me so sad
  18. Ok so to start getting some of your new Incarnate powers you have to go through these two trials. These incarnate powers make you much more powerful etc. so why aren't we doing something way more epic to unlock these? Shutting down a weapons facility and stopping experiments from escaping? Those are the main themes behind the two new trials. That seems pretty lame to me. Fighting the goatee villains is big but what the idea behind it all feels very poor. It isn't epic and not worthy of making you incarnate-like.

Unfortunately the CoH devs seem to have a long history of this type of non-epic feel (IMHO). The Mortimer and Sutter SF/TF seem rather blah. This is a superhero game yet in Kal we fight a bunch of CoT that have been around for years and some local lame-looking street toughs who have also been around for a while. Throw in some Midnighters and then finish it off with a fight against Posi in one of the most generic bases in the game. Ugh. The Sutter was given much more new art but we're fighting amongst battleships? A wrecked Skyway? Why not send us into a far more fantastic environment and give us enemies that are not Praetorians AGAIN?!

Anyway, it just seems like a lot of the creativity is lost lately and these new things seem to be almost an afterthought (especially the Sutter and Kal).

When I was a kid I used to really like oscars but they did the same thing. They found a way to jump out of the tank as well. It is so odd. Sorry to hear about your loss!
  20. I do like the trial/raids. Fun stuff but too grindy. I am sure we will get more but the dev team is pretty slow with new issues so this could become very painful, very soon. I hope they grant these rewards in other level 50 content as well (say adding the same reward table at the end of all level 50 TFs/SFs in addition to merits etc.

The new TF and SF are a bit weak. They are very much the same old with some slight variation and a lot of Praetoria yet again. I didn't really enjoy them. I do like the effort to add content to the lower levels again. Hopefully they update some older TFs/SFs so we may want to actually play them again (well, play AND enjoy them).

I like a lot of the new issue. The new SF/TF are kinda lame and no costume pieces are the weak points.
  21. I am struggling with this and was hoping someone had a build. I just need some survivability and solid damage. Also, no purple sets but I can always adjust that myself Any help or builds would be a huge help! Thanks for checking this out.

This. A very good point and I am a bit shocked a 'veteran' group of devs let this slide. A bit disappointing.

I like the raids and hope you add more. I have been hoping for something different and this is a step in the right direction. Hopefully future content ups the innovation and isn't Praetoria based. They are quick, involved and kinda fun. The cut scenes are a nuisance. I hope the devs maybe use loadscreens to tell the story in the future (would work on TFs/SFs since there are multiple loadscreens throughout the course of one of those).

The new TF and SF in i20 were disappointing. The TF was ok and the SF just felt lame. I really hope you look at designs for future TFs. We have a lot of stuff to do so add quality - we no longer need the quantity trumping quality.

And now the Paretorian war is having the same widespread effect on the game world - only this time we're able to experience it in "real time" - rather than being a background event like the first Rikti war, it's actually something that we'll be a part of as it unfolds.
Fair enough but we have way too much Praetoria, IMHO. There are no limits here but we seem to have a very limited amount of items in game that have the 'wow' factor. The old TFs are poor (the Phalanx ones and some SFs) and we seem to get 'new' missions which are anything but new...the same old enemy, maps, look and the only thing different is the text; often this text isn't that great and just 'meh'.
  24. I pretty much agree with the OP. The new salvage system for the Incarnates is annoying but Posi seems to like his systems and enjoys making things a grind; I am very happy he is no longer the lead dev.

The new TF is meh and the SF kinda stinks. The SF is just old maps and it feels like we've done it before...a patron arc....midnighters arc....etc. The same old environments again. Give it a rest already. It is just sickening...

I really hope future raids are added and different mechanics are put in. It's a great change of pace and they are decent to play.

I really hope future raids have nothing to do with Praetoria. Enough of that.

Finally, I will skip the Lore slot on all of my toons. May reconsider when I see the updated list of pets but for now, I don't want Praetorian pets. They do not fit my characters.

Sadly, the SF is a bunch of old maps (for the most part) slapped together. The feel of doing that is somewhat sickening...like a million other missions we've run....just a cheap SF slapped together to appease the red side. I guess that power at the end is ok but in no way does it improve the SF. I was hoping this type of cheap add to the game was done with
