Extra defenses help a lot, when you have fair amount of regeneration rate.

But with your build, i don't think defenses matter that much, and you even said you'd go for more recharge rate over defenses.

You can save two slots from CJ, and a slot from any power that has a set bonus of +5% recharge rate, since your build exceeds the 5-of-the-same set bonus rule.

And I'd use those slots to actually slot for recharge rate enhancements, each in powers I'll use often.

I'd personally say to slot more purples in but, if you lack in inf, then these are all i can say.

"Sometimes," yes, it's worth it. But if you want to skip it, then go for it. It is definitely one of the skippables.

The reason I kept TS is to have another ranged, although it's very short, attack by WB level. You can always skip it and put something else, such as SS, if you're going to be sticking with GW epic.

1) Yes, it is still decent, though Elec is considered a better one.
2) I'd recommand /WP or /Regen. Or maybe even /DA, if you don't want to get /Nin.
3) Well, that depends on the size of your budget.
4) It still is a great one, though it isn't considered the best anymore.
5) Anything Spines/ or FM/ and /FA Scrappers, Elec/ EM/ Spines/ Stalkers paired with /WP, /DA, Ice/Cold Corruptors(well.. I really don't think this works all that well like how it was before), Mind/ or Illusion/ Controllers paired with either /Rad, /SS, Mind/Psi Dominators, Psi/EM Blasters, FA/SS Tankers(and SS/FA Brutes).

Yeah, there are many of my personal favorites. =P

How hard would DR hit 52.6% MD/62.6% RD?

(There's no AoE defense, nope. Why...? well... who gives a F about AoE damage in PvP these day xP)

Two people CAN duel or do fight club sxxt, but don't expect others to follow the rules.

If you want safety for dueling, go to Arena. Dueling in PvP zones is not safe, since there are people like me xP

I love Scrapper AT the most among all, my second would be Blaster, then Stalker -> Brute -> Tanker.

There's a reason why people usually compare Scrappers and Brutes. They have similar rolls.

Stalkers are more like... nerfed/boosted Blasters, range nerf, damage nerf, stealth cap boost, and such.

Though comparing Stalkers with Blasters could be just my thing =x
