Quote:By "too outrageous" you mean "somewhat below the typical market rate", right? The exact same thing would happen.
Players are conditioned to pay the 'going rate' for high demand stuff much more so than 'junk'.
If anything, you'd make *more* inf on the high demand stuff provided your buy point wasn't too outrageous.
I'll use LotG +Recharge at 50 - it typically goes (recently) for 150 million.
If I bought at 135, and sold at 100, Nethergoat, you're proposing I would make money? (Over enough time - not on any one sale.)
...yeah, I'm moderately willing to accept that. It'd take a while, though, to find 'em available at 135. And you'd have to be able to shrug off the occasional loss when one of yours sells for 120 or something.
I'm not sure about "more" money, though. The higher-priced stuff seems to bounce around a tighter "window" - from 80% to 120% of "average value", instead of anywhere from 1% to 1000%. -
...-KB, specifically.
If I have one slotted in the power I get at 32, and I exemp to, say, 12, do I get the benefits of the IO?
Does it matter if I exemp below the IO's level? The power's level?
Thanks for the help. -
Quote:Le Gasp!Depends how you did it.
It seems to take effect when you get the "large listing fee" dialog box and click yes on the "do you really want to do this" option. If you click the options to say that you don't want to see the dialog box again, and that you don't want to go through with the transaction, then just list it again, I've never seen this problem manifest itself.
That's exactly what happened.
I'm not actually going to pester for a refund (I ain't rich, but I ain't broke, either), but I will remember this in the future... -
The interface put 7 x Steel on sale for 140 million for me, thus blowing my profit margins on my enhancements I was actually trying to sell.
There's nothing anyone can do, and I understand that. I just wanted to share my misery.
Edit - Although there should be a "cancel within 10/20/30 seconds, get your posting fee back" option. That'd be awesome. Never happen, though. -
Not infrequently with the new interface, I'll post a stack of, say, ten salvage at 10,000 each, and it'll say something like:
"Selling for 100,000" (0 each).
I've never sold a salvage off one of these borked stacks.
1) Does this happen to anyone else?
2) Is there a way to correct this? -
I suspect the devs knew they were massively simplifying the act of gathering non-PVP, non-purple IOs.
Alignment Merits are a genuine option as opposed to the market.
Speaking as a fairly-casual player, 250 Merits for the Recipe I wanted wasn't viable; I'm not able to make the one hour time commitment for Task Forces. But I can run Tip missions for fifteen minutes, for fun, alone or in groups, and every time I finish 10 (or 20), I get a specific recipe I like.
Note that I say this as someone who immensely enjoys the Market game (although I suck).
I think it's an immense change in availability - for the better. -
Warrior Pants!
They were gone, they were back for a couple months, and now they're gone again. -
Has anyone had problems loading costumes that used the Organic Armor face from the Mutant Pack?
Several of mine now have to "attempt correction" to load, although the face is still on the menu(s)... -
Sure, I'll bite.
No.
Because I've watched his story, the only story he writes, a dozen times.
Yeah, it's really good.
But I have now seen it before.
He needs new tropes to subvert. -

Hello!
First off, Rikti attacks are one of my favorite parts of the game. I love 'em. I participate in them whenever I can get to the area in question, sometimes traveling several zones to do so.
Yesterday (07/18/2010), on Virtue, there was a Rikti invasion in Talos in the afternoon (around 4:00 EST), and the lag was monumental - much, much larger than usual.
Further, I then noted - since I had some time - that Rikti attacks appear much more "laggy" (for lack of a better term) 'recently' - not a very helpful term, I know, but the last 2-3 I've been in have been slow, with everyone on the team(s) complaining of the lag. And since it's everyone in the area, I'm tempted to suggest the odds of it being *my* computer seem low.
It occurred to me that nobody's mentioned it on the Forums 'recently', so I thought I'd mention - Rikti attacks have grown very sluggish. It's my personal suspicion it has something to do with Ultra mode and so many character models in a small area - but I have nothing whatsoever to base that on.
(Yes, I know - many players, small area, inevitable lag, etc. I know that, and I'm okay with it in general. But what I'm mentioning is that it seems worse / performance seems to be declining.)
tl;dr - Has anyone else noticed Rikti attacks have become more lag-filled? -
Yes, yes, yes.
Although the reason for your questions eludes me. This is a highly biased poll, and long-format answers seem much more useful for discussion... -
That's exactly what I was hoping to hear.
Fantastic, thanks! -
Hello!
I'm hoping someone more knowledgeable than me can help me out. Because of my computer setup, it would be quite helpful to me to be able to start CoH windowed sometimes, and full screen sometimes.
I worked out doing that with the -fullscreen switch. Works awesome.
What is a bit of a problem is I have different resolution preferences for fullscreen versus windowed. Is there a way I can uses switches to set the game to the preferred resolution on startup?
Thanks in advance to anyone who offers a suggestion. -
Quote:I'm sorry, I don't believe you should be telling people how they should enjoy the game.I'm sorry, but I don't believe that you actually like being one of the only 14 heroes/villians on your server at that time.
Some people might enjoy exactly what you don't. Some people dislike farming, others actually enjoy it. Some dislike the markets, some like them. Some like teaming, others don't.
Some people like romantic comedies, some like action movies. Same idea.
I'm surprised you've made it this far in life without encountering at least one person who disagrees with you. I think you have some uncomfortable adjustments coming your way. -
You can save the file, then open it. Only way I know of. The command is bindsavefile.
Edit - D'oh! Not fast enough! -

Kickpuppy does run the risk of overtaxing the Villianside servers, though.
(PS - Think cartoon puppy, cartoon kick. It's the evocative action that'd rock, not the actual puppy-kickin'.)
Edit - Just to mention, I'd pay for an Emote Pack, with "a bunch" (say, 10-12) of emotes plus some costume-change emotes. And I bet I'm not the only one. -
The only thing I would like to see added is MUSEUMS.
Both as an instance mission map ("prevent theft", "defeat awakening mummy", etc, etc), and as a place for heroes to wander / gather.
We already have lots of stuff to put in it, from the Base Editor. Although adding dinosaur skeletons would also be awesome.
Before playing City of Heroes, if you'd asked me the one map a superhero game would HAVE to have, I would have put museum over bank, office building, and cave. -
Quote:Same here, but I'm not trying to kill anyone.I make it a point to stop and send an eloquent complimenty tell to anyone I see whose costume is just incredible. It really makes their day, and that, in turn, encourages them to compliment others, and it just chain-reacts until everyone dies from happiness.
I'll keep my eyes open for posting in this thread, though. -
Quote:This.Much like Spiderman web slinging and sees a bank being robbed he comes in beat the thugs and swings away.
In the comic books, the average radio mission might be an issue long, featuring a villian you'll probably remember well enough to discuss with friends, but not well enough to wonder when they're coming back.
Longer, more dramatic, more interesting stories are call "story arcs", and your contacts hide them from you until you drag them out of them, sometimes forcibly.
Neither is "better" than the other. Apples and Oranges; what are you in the mood for?
(Under this theory, street sweeping would be those first 1-2 pages, where the hero beats up some bad guys just to get some action panels in early.
...hey, this analogy actually holds up pretty well...!) -
My only guess -
932 million.
Worth a shot. -
How do I get this shark-throwing power?

Quote:Here's to this. The problem isn't that there are lots of "crummy" farm maps clogging up MA, or that there are lots of "crummy" story arcs clogging up MA, the problem is it's much, much easier for me to find a good farm arc than it is to find a good story arc.
Interface improvements could go a long ways toward rectifying that situation.
I'd say more, but it's totally a tangent from this thread.
Suffice it to say - I feel I'm moderately clever, and I've DM'med table-top RPGs for over ten years. And I have never successfully made a mission or arc in Mission Architect. -
Please, please let this German company have very deep pockets.

Quote:/ignored for telling me I'm having wrongbadfun.Wrong, wrong and wrong. What I'm essentially saying to people who need the very basics of arc creation spelled out to them is "Learn2play."
Eva, whatever you do to have fun with the game, I hope you have fun doing it.
