Sure. It makes as much sense as the enemies' projectiles chasing me across a map through walls and other barriers when I run past them and they take potshots at me.

Often, the buzzkill for me is starting a new character only to get into the game and realize it's going to take 20 levels before I might feel like a level 1 superhero.
If I'm asking if the team is ready, I'm likely afraid that the team will wipe when I dive in if they're not ready. Though occasionally I might be afraid that I'll wipe if the Defenders/Controllers aren't ready. -
A simple (in effect, but not necessarily implementation) suggestion that would be pretty handy to have.

Quote:I like a good morality tale and wouldn't mind being blindsided with one. I'd say a good morality tale would have to perforce have some good morality in it somewhere, though, and I didn't notice anything but bad morality in the movie.I think those who disliked District 9 were upset at being blindsided with a morality tale when they thought they were going to see a bug hunt. Plus everyone talked funny.
But I didn't go into the movie expecting a "bughunt", rather I went in hoping for an interesting story with at least one likeable character. Instead I got a movie with a story that potentially could have been interesting if it were told better and driven by a character who wasn't a detestable weasel. And the main character became less likable as the movie progressed, whilst all the supporting characters that were introduced were equally detestable in their own ways. Meanwhile, the style the story was being told in seemed to be suffering from MPD.
Quote:Sort of like all the parents who got upset when they took their little ones to Bridge to Terabithia thinking it was going to be another Narnia. It wasn't the movie the trailers implied. -
My first experience with the power was on a team with a Mastermind who had it. And let me tell you, getting spastically moved around a chasm-filled CoT map against your will is extremely annoying. Perhaps even more annoying than not being able to activate Rooted when your teammate flies up to you with Group Fly on and a bunch of aggro in tow.

I don't believe a +Recovery buff from Heat Loss will prevent the initial End crash of the nuke, and it's that crash that makes the power not worth it to me.

His survival or lack thereof doesn't impact the main story. All that's required by the main story is that he's defeated in spectacular fashion, which is satisfied in the events of RotJ regardless of whether he survives (directly or via clone).

Quote:So what you're saying is that Obi-Wan teleported away, which is why he left no body, and was communicating via hologram the entire time! It all makes sense now!Really? We only saw him close his eyes on the Death Star with Luke - that's not proof that he's dead - and as for the Force ghosts, they look a lot like the holograms in the movies, so they must be holograms too.
In other news, big bad villains tend to return from certain death even when there IS a body. It's what they do. Besides which, Luke didn't smash Palpatine's Phylactery, and everyone knows you can't really kill a Force Lich without smashing its Phylactery. -
Hrm. Difficult to say. I think I'll go with Togglobite, my Toggle Man-inspired Spines/Dark Scrapper. He's the only character I've managed to IO out (by necessity, as he couldn't function properly without all the Recovery bonuses), and I managed to do so almost completely as planned (I'm just missing some of those ridiculously expensive Recovery procs from the Healing sets). Getting to 50 with very few click attacks, none of which are slotted, was a strangely satisfying, though tedious, accomplishment.

Quote:Pepper and Rhodes never seemed to have the personality of whining teenagers in any of the comics I've read. And I don't recall Happy Hogan being Flash Thompson.Actually FWIW I thought Iron Man Armored Adventures was decent. They got all the personalities of Pepper, Tony, and Rhodey right. Loved how they did Madame Masque. I also thought the Black Panther episode was well done. The CGI got on my nerves at times but I really liked the show.
That certainly wasn't the Mandarin I'm used to. And apparently relegating Fin Fang Foom to the job of guarding a ring sucked.
And they were apparently trying to rename the Crimson Dynamo to the Alabaster Dynamo.
Add to all that that the CGI was just generally bad. I reiterate that this Avengers cartoon certainly looks better than Iron Man Armored Adventures. -
In both cases their intended purpose is hitting people.
Quote:Let us pretend that you have a magical mace. It is enchanted so that it causes slashing wounds when it impacts a person. If you were to create that character in CoH, it would have to be either a mace weilder (and do smashing damage) or a sword weilder (and have the wrong weapon). That's how it works.
Quote:If you allow a maces to work like a sword, then you would have to change the damage type too. And the Devs have made it quite clear that a given weapon set will NOT change damage types based on appearance (hence no flaming swords). -
Quote:Er, my statement is agreeing with that. Ice Blast doing cold damage comes from the fact that it's Ice Blast, not from the animations involved, thus there's no problem with using Ice Blast's animations for a fire blaster. Not according to Warkupo's logic. If he likes the the way it looks he should be able to use it on his fire blaster,
In a world of magic and superpowers, bullets and swords can do non-lethal damage. And blunt wooden swords can cut just as effectively as metal swords. -

Quote:It makes perfect sense. Or at least as much sense as any other super power.Because it makes no sense to "slash" at people with a hammer, nor indeed to parry, just as it doesn't make much sense "clobber" people with a dagger.
Quote:It's not just about damage types. It's the fact that it's a sword set.
Quote:Aesthetically, it just looks bad. -
I'm not using Firefox, but it's been happening off and on to me. Usually when it happens to me the page is still trying to load some miscellaneous data. Earlier this week I was unable to connect to the page at all for a bit a few times, though I was able to load most other pages just fine. Given all the lightning storms that have been coming through, I've been chalking the whole thing up to communication issues.

Looks potentially decent. It certainly looks better than Iron Man Armored Adventures.

I'd be all for removing the 5% chance to miss when attacking minions. I'd also be for removing their 5% chance to hit.

I liked the movie a lot. And I thought Bender's Joker was excellent.
-
I'd rather they make Exemping not strip away your powers, but rather just scale their effects down appropriately by level.
-
For me that was preceded by seeing his face and thinking "Did they give him the Super Shar Pei serum by mistake?"

Quote:That seemed pretty obvious given all of the events towards the end of last season, though I recall we had a few doubters around here.

I wish it would, though. If they ever started broadening the choices in regular power pools like they have in APPs, I could see it being added to Fitness. Barring that, I wouldn't mind seeing Health get folded into Stamina and having a slottable Ninja Run as the level 14 pick for Fitness.

Regen and Willpower are a bit bassackwards in gameplay, IMO. Regeneration should be the one that's just passively on and doing its job, and Willpower should be the one that requires active, willful power usage. That said, Willpower is the Regeneration set I wanted back when I chose Regeneration (and the super-regen power was a toggle rather than a click). Its more passive use as well as its overall effectiveness makes it a better set for me.
