Quote:Straw that breaks the camel's back and all that...If you hate immersion breaking then you must hate the options menu, loading screens, unexplained limits on inventory size, arbitrary amounts of XP needed to level up, the tram system, and just about any other thing in this game that is about 20 times more immersion breaking than 1 line of dialogue in a tree from a trainer that you can ignore easily.

Quote:This is not the experience as I recollect it. However, I've been doing a lot of sewer trials and using the trainers therein recently, so my memory may be tainted. But as I recalled from when I used Ms. Liberty (and Blue Steel) while I was running the early arcs, there was a 'train up to next level' option on the initial window as well as the 'change your costume' option. As luck would have it, the moment I went in to test it out just now they shut down the servers. It's not the same window. Before, you had the option to "Train now" as soon as the window opened. Now you need to first click on the "Improve my abilities" button to be taken to the old Trainer window for builds, training and titles. And, yes, it bothers me, as well.

Of course, I feel I should be able to click the flashing level up arrow to level up without having to go through the extraneous motion of sauntering over to the nearest inconvenient trainer. So a single extra click, if it exists, is liable to go by unnoticed by me next to the other more obtrusive processes, anyway. -
What "extra" click? You still click the same number of times to train. It's not like it brings up a "Do you want to change your costume yes/no" window before giving you the training option. It's the same window the trainers always had with an added option you can choose to click or ignore at your leisure. There is no -extra- clicking involved.

Quote:Planeta Bur is the original Russian title. AKA Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet of Women, I believe.#5 almost looks like John the Robot from VOYAGE TO THE PREHISTORIC PLANET, but it's not quite the same. Maybe they repurposed him from (or for) another movie. Found him here.
-
And number 5 is Robot John from Planeta Bur, apparently. Both it and Chani were very familiar to me, but they must be from movies watched late night in the dim recesses of my forgotten youth.
-
Ah. Number 7 is Chani from The Devil Girl From Mars.

Quote:They never had any punch. Notice how they remain completely punchless whenever Rikti and Zombies attack.First off...it's silly because these are supposed to be regarded as heroes, not fashion consultants. These are supposed to be the epic characters of the game, and this just makes them lose their punch. Yes, you can just go to Icon, but that does not mean the issue goes away.

I don't particularly mind the change. To me, it's no worse than the trainers being trainers. IMO, you should be able to level yourself up without a trainer, and be able to modify your costume from your costume selection bar.

According to an interview I read, Cage said that this isn't a sequel despite the fact that he's returning for the part. He said the first film was like Ghost Rider viewed through a Disney lens, and that this one is supposed to be darker and more violent.

I might pay for alternate animation sets, though I think 400 points might be the most I'd pay for a whole set of animations. I'd much prefer to be able to preview the animations in the creator and cherry pick the specific ones I want for purchase in the store like costume pieces for maybe 50-60 points each.
The other option you mention, however, is really just making new powersets. To put your mind at ease over copied sets, they could rework the user interface so it showed subcategories for some sets (for instance, there could be a Swords power with the subcategories of Broadsword and Katana/Ninja Sword), but at the end of the day it's still a new powerset. -
Dragons are my favourite legendary critters. That said, I don't think they're suitable for a whole Mastermind set. Perhaps the top tier critter in a set of mythical creatures, but even that seems unlikely to me.

I find the iTrials to be an uninteresting hassle, which is more than enough reason for me to not incarnate. That said, I often find myself hating the pre25-ish levels for similar reasons as you gave for being burnt out on low level content. And it seems to be tougher for me to get through those low levels these days since the invites don't roll in on my pre-50 characters the way they used to before the iTrials existed.

Quote:I found it to be awesome combined with Arctic Air on a Controller. And on a Defender, between Time's Junction's To-Hit Debuff and Farsight's Defense Buff you can effectively have ~40% defense slotted up with SOs.Unless they change it, Controller because your route to Power Boost is more direct.
I actually don't find Time's PBAoE that amazing. More or less on par with something like Choking Cloud, which is useful for melee-ish characters but skippable enough. Not bad a panic button power, but I'm not sure I'd be wading through melee just to use it. -
Quote:I changed my global name once. Mainly because Tenzhi ended up being the second character I made and my global had been defaulted to my first character's name.Up for discussion: Have you ever changed a character name? Your global name? Your forum name? Any other names (besides from marriage)? What lead to the decision, and did you like the result?
When I was playing Forza 2 on XBOX Live, whenever I was racing with British players they would say my gamertag "Ti Hsien" like "Tie Sin" when it should be more like "Tee Shin".Quote:Also, do you have difficulty getting people to pronounce your name(s) correctly? If so, how do you react?
In City of Heroes, though, I don't actually *hear* what anyone is saying so I couldn't tell you if they mispronounce any of my characters' names. They do occasionally misspell them, though. -
I don't like either of the iTrials I've done. I've been assuming that I won't like Keyes or the upcoming Underground trials. Add to that that queueing up for the trials often entails over an hour of wait time during which I annoyingly can't run missions and I find myself not queueing up for anything.

I've been put off playing Stalkers for any length of time mainly because I can't start one blueside. Around the time CoV came out I got a Claws/Something Stalker up to level 26, but I long since deleted it. I tried other Stalkers off and on, but I couldn't stand playing redside. When GR came out I immediately made a Stalker, but it's kinda stuck in yellow at level 16 and I just can't stand to play it there.

And I did make a SJ/Ice Stalker in Beta, but due to my brief/intermittent experience with them I can hardly count myself as part of the Stalker community. When I21 hits live I'll probably make a blueside Stalker (I'm thinking KM/Ice, though I really want Ice Melee). -
Quote:Personally, I think they should've gotten a sort of melee radius version of Arctic Air which instead of having a small chance to confuse would have a small chance to Placate.I am shocked Stalkers are keeping Chilling Embrace. It's one of the best Taunt Auras in the game because of the incredibly fast ticks and hefty debuff. Even if they remove the taunt component it still going to be an aggro magnet for a class designed to shed aggro.

Actually, many style names I've seen (such as in Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Outlaws of the Marsh) seem to be made up of two characters/words put together.
My own forum name is similarly constructed, though I typically use the Japanese pronunciation of the first character rather than "Tian".
I like Shao Shenshi. It's got that ring of pseudo-authenticity and it simultaneously has the American comic book alliterative-name thing going. -
I saw the Gutters comic yestreday. I was hoping this thread would have BETTER spoilers.
