Adding in options for difficulty is fine. Hell, if the want is great enough, then the people will says its time well spent.
Some of us still havent played the whole game through, and some bits are still tough even on Heroic/Villaious!
(Just you try fighting Positron and Valkyrie EB versions with a bot/ff MM and an AoE focused Crab at lvl 41 vs 41)
-
Claws eviscerate, now its not a cone, makes no sense =/ They should make it more like the traditional 'two slash' attack, blades slashing at neck hieght in oposite directions. Classical 'finishing move'
-
Behind his helmet, Drake smiled. There was no humour present.
"Seriously, have I met you before? 'Cos top prize goes to the girl with too much attitude!"
So saying he pulled the trigger. Both triggers. -
On a less serious (?) note, I have but one thing to say about God;
"SMITE ME!"
Although I wouldnt have my Angel PB without religion
-has given up sensible argument- -
This is true. And, actually, there were a few left over when she went down first time. We were more concerned with pummeling her before she God-moded.
...Can she fire that thing off twice? Once before rez and then once after? -
Hmm, my Defender/Blaster/occasional Scrapper Kitsune Vixen (Vixens Shadow when gone scrapper) could possibly do with something like this. Otherwise the poor lass might end up in deeper troubles
-Ponders- -
Sarcasm? What sarcasm? >.>

For the lolz, my friends, for the lolz. -
Nah, Longbow is just a whole lot of Punishers, in different outfits, send to disrupt Recluse's Island Paridise...

I for one think they need to make debt a big thing again. Gone are the days when you'd break down in tears when you died and had half a bar of debt fom that one death (I certainly did anyway...).
[/ QUOTE ]
Which is really funny when I get a lag spike or griefed and die without any fault of my own.
Debt is ****. Just because it doesn't stink as bad as other 'solutions' in a generic MMO framework that feels it has to heavily punish you for dying, for some confused reason that dying should be important even though the whole reason we're not playing iron man is because we dont want to die, doesn't mean it's good.
I put forward the idea that total team wipe, including solo, should result in mission failure, which no-one liked even though it makes sense that Dead = Lose. It's too harsh, obviously. Grab a decent team or some friends and you can grind through debt no problem, but holy knickers, actually failing the mission!? We can't have our heroes failing when they get torn to pieces by an enraged Warwolf, that's ludicrous, it's an actual consequence! Just give us some more debt we can grind through please.
Debt can kiss my backside, I love having no debt, I love not having to worry when I die, and I love that I can play with people willing to hit Self Destruct instead of running like hell because masochists want their computer to stab them in the leg with a spring loaded knife when their toon dies.

Muchos agreement, even though SD does not in-fact give any debt anyway
Debt is the MOST depressing thing to log into. I used to never play my squisher characters after a certain point. My blaster, for example, would log on to find nearly a whole ring of debt. This was mainly, back then, due to horrible lag spikes and some quite challenging runs in Faultline. When they crushed debt a bit, it meant I could actually log on for even a short time, smack a few missions about, and feel like I was making some progress on even the lowliet of characters. It was more FUN.
Its a game. And a game has one objective and one main objective only. To be FUN. Everything else is a bonus.
I agree to adding more options (Options is gud!) for higher diffs, nastier spawns, etc. But DONT NERF STUFF. Nerfing leads down a rocky road to utter, utter ruin.
And whoever mentioned doing to PvE what was done to PvP, well-SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAMMM!!- ...-nods- -
Phew. Thanks GR, that had me scared XD
And yes, I pity those poor saps who have Maestro...
-pointlaff-
Nah, seriously, hope things perk up sometime for you guys =/ -
Drake nodded as he saw Rachel and her minion vanish. Now, with a clear arc of fire, he stood up and shouted at the room in general.
"Alright, ladies and gennelmen! Give me one iota of a reason, and you'll all be eating web and lead for the rest of your incredibly short lives. So break it up!" -
Venom grenades were in constant use, as was ever other possible power to hit her with.
And no, Praf, the Mission didnt complete. It was Defeat Valkyrie, and even though she went down once, the mission didnt compelte.
Anyway, I dont think you get the exp until she stays down? Cant remember now. -
My point exactly. When we fought Valkyrie, we managed to floor her with far less trouble than Positron. But then up she bounces from her rez, and THEN came the god-mode. I don't MIND them having god-modes, you expect it, even, but it lasted for something like quarter of an hour...maybe less, but thats what it felt like.

DE 'disguise' themselves in the Rogue Isles a fair bit, think they may do it Blueside to. Still, amusing if nothing else =]

3. People will naturally gravitate towards more powerful sets (dont even try to deny it).
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll deny it, ta very much. I'm not a Mids Number cruncher, so I don't know which sets are 'uber'. I'll pick up new sets, on any AT, for the concept and/or for experimentation, to see if its cool. Some people just dont care about '1337 h4X builds'
-pauses to cut off own fingers for typing that-
I mean, my Invul/EM tanker. I took 15 months to get him to 50. Maybe I should have taken Stone armour, or maybe a different attack set. (this was before WP, or maybe, indeed, I would have taken that)
The point is, its only if a set is 'Broken', like many people say sets like energy aura still are, that need fixing. It its not broken, DONT try and fix it. Or we'll end up with set equivelants to what happened with PvP. A system that had some flaws, but wasnt totally broken, and now a system that very few seem to like.
-shrug- -
Wait, you *can* hit certain civvies? Thats news to me >.>
-
Balance = reasoning, datamining, player requests and calculated tweaks.
Unbalance = nerfs/buffs too far. Example; PvP
Its morning, a fact shown by the fact I nearly typed normingIll let other people post, then come back later.

Its not all a Nemesis plot...
Its ALL a Nemesis plot!
...
Pie?
-nods sagely-
Yeah, I love some of the litte details in game, like this and the Stranded women in the Hollows. Things that add a little spark to a sometimes dull street.
Giles, crack out the EMP grenades and the pulse carbine. We're going bot hunting! -

Nobody is FORCING you to buy slots or a name change. It's an option, not an obligation for playing the game.
Subscription prices have NOT gone up. What's the big deal? Just don't buy the slots or name change, especially if you yourself say you don't NEED it.
Gosh, it's as if people on the internet purposefully look for things to whine about.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait, we NEED an excuse?
Heh -
Thats still a hell of a lot of defense, and both sets of Crab pets, so a lot of firepower, all buffed. It still shouldnt have been that ludicrously difficult, to the point of frustration, IMO.
-
Seconded, Londoner.
Lack of any real evidence, and if nots not an actual Problem, then it really has little or no priority. -
Seeing as Drake was wearing his helmet, the bottles to the head mattered little. The incoming blow from sanguine, however, was more of an imediate problem.
He ducked and launched himself sideways, hoping that the two attackers would end up entagling themselves with each other. He managed to toss a small device, a teleport hack-chip to Rachel, before rolling upright and flicking both safeties off his gun. If a fight was for keeps, he'd be damned if he was going down. -
Twas using a Bots/FF MM and a Crab Spider, both lvl 41, with lvl 42 EBs.

Lets face it everyone knows those sets are better than the rest, but deny it out of fear that they beloved char is getting nerfed.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or they're like me and couldn't care less because they don't have one and never will.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't have one either. But just leave them alone. Stop nerfing things that don't need nerfing.
Tbh, I don't see WHY there is an issue here.
If you're ina team with a SS/WP brute and hes killing silly ammounts of enemies, thats GOOD! You get the exp with less stress.
PVP, as far as im concerned, is no longer a valid point for ANY arguments about powers, not until they actually look at a sensible way of making it work. For purely PvE matters, they need to fix things that are broken, NOT things that work, even if they work 'too well' (No such thingg, I says)

Drake kept himself between the growing fray and Rachel. He was glad she was upright, and that her minion was coming back to her. He swore as the skeletal Cowboy let rip with some sort of toxin gas. He was of course helmeted, but Rachel didnt seem to have any kit on her. Without waiting for her to protest, he pulled a spare re-breather from one of the many pouches on his belt and wrapped it over her mouth.
Drake was tempted to web this lot and set off a teleport beacon while they were stuck. Fights were fun, but this one was getting a tad dicey.
