I think you may very well be a lost cause then Londoner there is basically no difference between a TF and Mission Arc other than the fact your not locked into a mission arc normally.

Yes TFs have some special things like Romy and his buffing nictus but dose that really add loads of replay ability?

As to MA doing nothing for you how can you say that and complain about replay-ability MA gives the potential for unlimited missions and im sure there's going to be some real gems amongst them

    [/ QUOTE ]

The big difference is that in a TF/SF you get rewards. You get merits. Merits from storyarcs are negligible. As a villain you should have more ways to do these then the same old same old.As a villain you should be able to get merits from tf's at every level as well. Just as heroes can. I don't think that is such an outrageous request.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But you can get merits at every lvl as a villian granted 2 of teh task forces are co-op but there still task forces open to villians

also i once again direct you to the oraborus where you can do mission arcs as TF and if its purely merits your after may i suggest "Von Grun's Redemption" at 7 missions long (one being a talk to) and a EB its as good as most TF and you can do it as many time in a row as you want and get 12 merits every time.

Mix in a ITF or LGTF and thats most peoples gaming time taken up pretty easily

I'm just really struggling to understand this consuming need for more villain SFs yes they would be nice but i would hardly say its a necessity.

I would far more like to see them add a 25-35 co-op zone

    [/ QUOTE ]

Really bad example. Von Grun is a lvl 45+ contact who needs unlocking. Ergo, you CANT get him in Ouro unless you unlock him. Besides, the 45-50 gap isnt too bad. Its the 30-45 range that really sucks bad. And the lack of big things to do there really sucks. Some of us get a little tired with paper missions ad infinatum.

Not sure it's down to "hacking in" more due to, you log back to character select and decide it's a good time to make a coffee, whilst you are downstairs little brother timmy pops along and deletes all your alts.

    So /unsigned from me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which is entirely your own fault if you let that happen. I'm sorry but if Devs have implemented this system for cases like this it should be removed immediately.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Bit harsh. Little brothers can be real horrors...-smug-

Leave the Quit, Go to Login options but add a Change character one, maybe?
  3. [ QUOTE ]
So, what is different about CoX that means that players can make good missions in NWN, but will only be able to make sucky missions in CoX? Maybe you think that only idiots play CoX, NWN has a much smarter player base? Please explain you reasoning, because it makes no sense whatsover.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Whereas Heroes have the option to do X many Tfs with rewards/stories/oojimaflips, Villains have to make do with Y. This make Londoner unhappy. You wont like him when he's unhappy -nods-

And anyway, I actually agree. If they *can't* come up with stories to use for some new TF's then they could give me or @Evils or a number of people I know a call. Have a couple of nice Tfs ready roll in no time Its pretty poor show if they cant come up with *something*
  4. [ QUOTE ]
Ok, but in that case, I would like to see all contacts who shouldn't have a phone (cimmerorans, ghosts etc) never contactable by phone.

And as some of the missions are delivery missions, they shouldn't be phonable either.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The delivery missions at least have a point, even if they are rather dull. Its things like 'Go and see the PvP liason over the other side of the city'...WHY?! I dont even want to use that zone, I already know about it..tbh, if they want people to PvP they should 1) Fix it 2) Advertise it better.

I've given up on missions blueside for the moment, barring the Hollows arcs as they are 1) rewarding and 2) quite fun. After a certain lvl its more about teaming and doing other missions.

Anyway, /Signed for the OP. Would be nice to see a direct link for giving feedback to broken/boring/annoying things.

    Widow capes!

    There is a very simple theory for an idea to fix that;

Spend some time and make it work.
    Hard?

    Follow AI

You mentioned your reason in the first post. Fair doos to, I personally have no problem with that, nor anyone elses play style so long as it doesnt detract from my own enjoyment.

But if they impproved the pet and ally AI first, they could probably apply that a bit to those on follow. Its just thta Pet and Ally AI is a much bigger problem (Imo at least) right now, seeing as certain ATs like MMs rely heavily on Pet AI which, when borked, can cause major havoc.

I predict they'll give Life Drain the Siphon Life treatment to make it the third, strongest single target blast in the set, and replace Tenebrous Tentacles with Aim.
    [ QUOTE ]
Well sure, they had to do the same with psionics from Defs to blasters.

[/ QUOTE ]Baaaaad example, considering how gutted Blasters' Psi Blast was left after the proliferation.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You are kidding, right Col? A Psi/Psi blaster is simply giggle-worthy to play. Fighting anything below red is just hilarious, especially when your plastering them all over the scenery. I approve, of course
  8. The fact is, why should Heroes and especially Villains have to pay 'rent' ?!
Heroes would earn enough to buy a suitable place, would already own something from family or friends, live in a handy alternate zone or get given a place as thanks for services rendered. Villains get it easy, they just have to smash enough heads together until they get what they want.
    Rent? puh-lease =/

    Lost Curing Wand

Faultline is where I used the wand when I got it.

As for the Hollows hunts, Flux's one is fine. He's surrounded by Outcasts after all. But those two, you can guarentee that the mobs you find will not be the mobs you're after
  11. Well sure, they had to do the same with psionics from Defs to blasters. Tis just a matter of time =]

If they had a 'switch characters' button, Id be happy. Just to have it as an option, alongside go to login screen and quit to desktop. Does get a bit annoying having to constantly go through all that.

    Follow AI

I hoped this was suggesting an upgraded to the shocking AI used by NPC hostages and pets...obviously not. That DOES need a fix, however. If a player is set to follow, for whatever reason, you may as well tell the person you are following. That way they can keep an eye on you. If you're following simply to afk an entire mission, you deserve whatever hits you, IMO

Fix pet and hostage AI please? That'd be more worthwhile.

"Every AT that uses the same type of powerset will have those powers proliferated to all the other".

[/ QUOTE ]"...barring unsuitable concepts such as Shield Stalkers."

    [/ QUOTE ]

That evokes the rather wonderful of image of a warehouse full of Longbow being fooled by a guy hiding behind a big shield. Like Snake and his cardboard box.

"Hey, Kyle, do you remember this giant flaming shield being here a minute ago?"

    [/ QUOTE ]

We need a 'Poor' Stalker set! Hide is replaced by Cardboard Box

    Lost Curing Wand

A bit bad if this is considered a gripe
Try hunting 50 Longbow in Nerva, when you're malefactored down so they are all red and purple conning. Or the two Hunt missions in the Hollows when there are never Trolls or Outcasts in sight.

This one by comparison is easy as pie. And amusing when you pop a Boss with one shot XD

the point is to make it a good challenge for a bad mix instead of bearing on impossible. And yet still make it challenging for all who play it. That is possible, y'know.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    It really isn't.

Encounters will pretty much always be tuned to the majority of the playerbase, this makes the most sense on so many levels. The ITF is fine, it is not fundamentally broken because you say so because you had some bad luck while running it.

If you are unable to do the ITF there are a number of other TF/Trial options suited to your, shall we say, specific playing style.

I'd wager a large amount of players deem the ITF too easy and would like something requiring more tactical effort. Should we make the TF harder if they voiced their opinions in the same way you think it should be altered because you've voiced yours?

Yes we get hamidon, yet another thing thats both sides and doesn't actually count to this rant whatsoever.

And people moan about the length of the trials etc they hate blueside but at least you have the option. We got 9 TFs less content to not do and thus the reason vill TFs take 60% less time is because we got nowt else to do and know them like the back of our hands as we lack 9 others to mix it up!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wonder if the lack of dev support in adding new SFs has a lot to do with the fact that fewer people play villains? It's just not worth their while.

But certainly there should be a SF for every level range in the game IMO.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually i wonder after MArch, if we will get any new TF or SF at all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Huh whats happening in march likes thats gona put a stop to new TFs?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Mission Architect probably.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I doubt it i recon well get at least 1 joint TF/SF for the coming storm maybe even a villain and a hero version.

Also a quick question to those that wont more SFs villain side. Why? is it purely because heroes have more? or is it down to merits?

If its down to merits whats wrong with OB get a team together then go do one of the mission arcs villains have some very good story arcs in the 40-50 range and if done as a Ora TF all members get merritts.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Its down to the lack of anything big and worthwhile in those ranges. Id forgotten the gap at 30-35, which is where im stuck right now with my stalker. TFs are great for a bigger challenge and really good exp and, while Heroes might not ALL do them, they have the choice. Villains are stuck with very few, and after a certain level you wont be able to do ANY and get exp for them. Which sucks really bad, IMO.

Merits dont really figure AS much, but would probably still factor for some people.
Options, its all about options. Options are good!
  19. Drake looked around, actually edgy for the first time since the fight began. Things were beginning to creak. Such as the walls. The cieling was starting to rumble in a worrying manner.
Still...if you're going out, and all that malarky...

Another frag took a good chunk out of the wall at the corner, leaving a hole and a warning rumble. Drake leapt for the gap, pausing to wave cheerily in the streetlight from outside.
"Toodle-oo, lovies," he chuckled, rolling another grenade along his fingers. "Have a lil' going away present. Hey, have two, im a genorous kinda bloke!"

The second frag bit into the opposite wall, and the building gave a warning moan in protest, as certain supports started to give. With a heartless chuckle, Drake pulled the pin on the flashbang by hand, hurrling it into the middle of the room and then legging it as fast as he could.

((Fiyah in de hole! XD ))

I reckon less than 5% of missions are dropped because they are bugged.
The Bug command is adiquate to deal with those, without wasting the time of the other 95%.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Still worth knowing why people don't want to complete missions though surely? If the majority of the people drop a particular mission for the same reason, that indicates something that the devs ought to be interested in, even if it's not a bug.

I drop missions if they get ridiculously frustrating. I had one to find 26 hostages in a massive conplicated CoT cave. 26 was just silly and I didn't want to be doing it all week, gave up after the first half dozen took 20 minutes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Devs (supposedly) want to make sure we enjoy the game. I know for certain Id love to see them cut out all the horrible, horrible hunt missions. Or at least cull of most of them. Tailor missions? -CULL- Contact suchandsuch mission? -CULL-
Feedback is 'taken into account' surely this should be some of it?
  21. 10 -15, 40-45.
The 40-45 gap is HORRIBLE. Its like, oh well you can run ITF all the time. Well...yesss, but thats kinda beside the point.

Also, while on the subject of Villain TFS, PLEASE dear GOD cut the ammount of Longbow Hunt missions in the Leviathan SF! Its....AURGHH. Yes, that about sums it up. Sersiously. Why are there so many Hunt missions in general?
  22. /Signed
But please dont mention PvP. It would be nice for a bit more variety, but leave that argument well alone in its corner
But yes, it has Blast in the name. Duh...
  23. Yeah, cut the immob and I dont think its too bad. Other than that, agree with the moving mouth point. CoT Behemoths get it
  24. -looks around from marshalling his and someone elses Arachnos Regiments-

Just you wait, do-gooders! /em shakefist
It will happen. Bear with us.
  25. Drake grinned behind his helmet, looking around the black and white bar. Infra-red was a wonderful invention. He was glad that Steamworth geezer had gotten him a new helmet.
"Dance," he chuckled, and rolled a grenade along the floor at Petals feet, flicking the pin at her as an afterthought.
