It would be nice if they let us know. And if we got told what got done.
But hey ho. -
REALLY needs fixing.
As does most of MAs text parts, tbh. Writing things is frankly horrible. -

Graphics update - probably, but hopefully along the lines of EVE, where you don't have to use it if your system can't handle it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Latest update for EVE Online made the "Premium" client the basic client, increasing the graphics requirements to a card with Shader Model 2 and above. There's some sort of "Premium Lite" (SM2)/"Actual Premium" (SM3+) division, but the old graphics were done away with completly.
No SM2 card? Get buying, game won't run for you no more.
[/ QUOTE ]
....They better not do that until I get to Uni and buy an actual PC made for gaming.
Or I WILL go and hunt people down and give them a...warning.

Problem is that they must decide who to aim for. Existing players who want/need more MEAT or new players who have enough meat but the bones must be up to specs compared to the competition. I doubt they have the staff to do both.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, if I don't get some meat soon, I'm gonna start eating the new players!

But you will need to find the rare and elusive monster to do that.
They say its name rarely, but legend tells it of sounding like;
Peh-veh-peh...
Mumsie and others have summed it nicely. I've got too much rooted in Paragon to really give out...I think. I hope, even. But I15 better be a stonker, it really had better be... -

I've always though of Recluse as a Dr Doom type character.
He does what he does because he thinks it's right - regardless of the consequences for others.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup. IIRC, Doom saved Sue Richards (Nee Storm) when she was having her kid/s. He's a Villain. Hes just not in the ArchVillain realm of someone like, Iunno, Apocalypse or someone.
I think CoV was once actually described as being like 'Dr Doom opening up his city to a swarm of villains and saying "Do what you want, jsut don't get in my way." '
Can't for the life of me remember where Doom lives/rules/owns. -
I think Mercy needs tweaking. Not an overhaul, but tweaking.
A hospital in the 2nd level would be nice. Y'know, so you don't have to run ALL the damn way back to upper mercy. Or at least link up the damn Choppers. The one in Fort Darwin doesnt DO anything, for pity sake!
And some more contacts there would be nice. Kalinda and Burke are now on my ignore lsit, simply because Im sick to death of the exact same arcs, over and over again. I now just butcher my way off the streets and into Port Oakes, where at least after the Bank Missions you get offered some choice and variety. -
Didn't you hear? Apparently MMO *RPG*s run on money these days
Story? Whats that? Oh, is that the thing that contacts give out from time to time? Meh, we'll just cobble something up. They think it's all a nemesis plot anyway.
Major fail. I10 I agree was decent, Rikti did need that revamp, and made it a lot more fun.
Cimerora? Well, its nice to see *Them* again, but the actuality itself is....wierd. To say the least.
/Want for decent, believable(ish) story content. -
I mean, theres a difference between Arch-Villain and villain, sure. Most of mine count as Villains. They are generally quite nasty, but they have one or two qualities that keep them still just about human.
Whereas Arch-Villains in the comic-book sense are the ones who will no stop until the world is under their iron fisted rule. One of mine qualifies for that, a lunatic, iradiated madman who lacks mercy, pity and msot feelings.
We have very few of them, it seems. Its expected to be City of Heroes and slightly Vigilantes.
Less of the rescue missions, more Westin Phipps! More Project Destiny, more Evil laughter, mad science, corrupted genius...
We're villains, damnit! It's time we started acting like it! -
Leave Galaxy City alone.
RP gets enough ignoring in an otherwise great MMORPG (Emphasis on the RPG, its meant to be a Role Playing game...) without mauling one of its main sites with PvP.
PvP in this game, at present, is Broken. Thats the opinion of a fair chunk of people.
If they had to implement a low level zone, make use of a different zone other than an established starting area. -
They ("And who are they, the Wizards?") have mentioned 'Going Rogue' and suchnot being implemented in future, so it is possible that the game may open up more.
Much as I would love to see a more open, linked and greater game, without the need for WoWesque PvP and that, it won't happen on this engine. The Devs can be shady about things, but that is one thing I think they said was a definite.
Heroes fighting Villains and vice versa is great. Mission Architect gives us that to some extent. Seeing as actual PvP took a major pummeling, and was never built in from the get go, it's not surprising its somewhat kept at bay.
And please, NO MORE CO-OP ZONES.
Rikti I can agree with. Nothing like a rain of Alien genocidilists to unite even the most hated foes, with backstabbing along the way.
Cimerora? Hmm...maybe. Only maybe.
Pushing any more is...pushing it. -
MA is great.
But it needs more work.
The cape bug, with randomly vanishing capes, still there. Lack of indication of WHICH is the Front, Middle and Back of a mission is practically Heresy. The problems with the text segments, the lagginess and gltichiness of them, which has also spread to Character Description boxes.
And the fact of being stuck within the MA building. Thats bad right there. The comment and feedback system is currently broken, it seems, the 'browser' and search functions are, on a running theme with things, broken (like the forum search).
No VEAT and HEAT powers or costumes. No option to customise existing NPC enemies with new powers or at least make them different levels. For example, wanted my end Boss in an arc to be an AV, with the MM pets used as seperate and strong entities. So an actual Boss level Assault bot, LT Protectors, etc.
The biggest gripe is the A.I. still being appalling. It really is. You can set a Boss to stand and fight, and he will run. Melee characters will run away. Ranged characters will stand and fight to the bitter end.
I still love it. But upgrades are good, and in some cases needed badly. -
Welcome to 'handing over tons of cash and expecthing them NOT to steal it'sville.
Yeah, 344 mil IS a lot. I would report that to the Support...I don't know if they give two damns or not, but hey.

Given 'Chat' (Not the player :P ) in Atlas generally consists of some...ballony from under Atlas, which should for sake of consideration be in Local...
Ah, but supposedly stupidity and txt spk are the way forward, these days...
/feelsold -
Im wondering...
Is everyone on the forums (or in game) that glued to their screens?
Has anyone SEEN the frequent abominations that 'Modern Architecture' (shudder) throws up? By comparison, the MA building looks fine.
I like it, anyhow. Time for some variations in the architecture.
YRMV -
Vanguard, if it was a decent enough day. That armour is vereh niiiice.
Or Arachnos. Backstab the person(s) who manage to backstab Recluse, take over the world...ohhh riiiightBeing evil while lookin' good.
-
For every person that hates MA, there will be someone who loves it.
And I would even risk saying that for every person who hates the 'Badgefarm lolz' missions, there will be a person out there to play them.
I too dislike the 'browsing' system. It does need heavy modification and work put in. I wish they hadn't had to rush it out, I really do. But thats life.
I personally like MA. I hope it goes far. Yes, I don't like the mass of missions that are there that I, personally, don't like, but again thats life.
MA also lets me (for one) put up stuff that actually isn't really possible with just normal game stuff. Like having four characters of my design actually fighting together like they were always meant to. (Can't find the post which talked about fighting player made characters in MA...Not all of it is badly done, t'be fair ) -

It didn't fix the MA crashing COH whilst I'm trying to make an arc. (or this damn forum software)

Or the Cape bug, a few contact bugs, the Save Costume Overwrite bug and a few other small but really irritating ones. -

..is there such thing as generic RP in CoX , beyond chat about cookies cloths and girlfriends ....and as for turn up and play ..GG history show that appearing and trying to drop a plot is not a good idea ..only planned RP works ...
..now given the number of people who prefer villain side it seems shame not to strive for more co-op RP ..
[/ QUOTE ]
Things like GG is what I would class as generic RP. Dropping stuff like plots, planned RP, rarely works there BECAUSE of its generic nature. You want something like GG to happen in the RWZ? By all means try, but don't be disappointed when it doesn't take off.
[/ QUOTE ]
GG is Generic RP.
It is also fairly clique. Yes, you can turn up with an unknown, as I did when I first showed. But it takes either knowing people or a bit of luck to actually get any RP in, sometimes. Not all the time, but sometimes.
PD however has two distinct camps. Blueside, aka the Toolshed. Here be Godmoders.
And redside bar, which tends to be a lot better. Invaded sometimes by the odd tool, too, but less so.
And, on topic...more RP is always nice? -shrug- -

I seriously love MA, but there's one or two things about NPC creation i'd like to see added/changed;
Power frequency / disable powers
- When making themed villains/story characters, certain powers don't work with the design, but are put in automatically by the computer.
- Either put a slider by the powers (full bar means the character will try to use it at every oppertunity, no bar means will never use the power) or just allow the powers to be turned off (but you can't turn on any powers that that level chharacter can't handle)

And for the love of Pete, give us Traps please.

Auras
Characters who have access to auras (level 30+ who have completed the mission) should be able to put auras on their NPCs (however I can understand capes not having this option)
[/ QUOTE ]
The current version is working fine. Takes about one mission to have enough tickets for auras.
[ QUOTE ]
Pool Powers
When choosing powers for toons, you should have access to the Medicine, Fighting, maybe Leadership, as power sets that can be chosen, as either primary or secondary.

Constant Flight
- For toons who should be in the air at every oppertunity, not just when they want to move or when their enemys are (for style or stratergy reasons)
- As far as I can tell, 'flight' on the current version dosn't work this way.

Ranged avoid
- An attack style, rather than just standing back, the character will persistantly move position between attacks
[/ QUOTE ]
They need to sort out the current Melee and Ranged stances. Which dont really work too well, from testing. Bosses+ especially seem to have problems with them. -
We need a few of the other Signature ones unlockable, too. Nemsis I think is missing, as are a few others.

They STILL havent fixed the Height bug, OR the Cape bug...
-
So, what about the Dev Choices at the moment?
Some of them are indeed worthy of that place...some simply aren't. In a major way, in some played cases. -
Some of the Dev choices are...dodge.
I thought they were choosing arcs that were polished and such, with good plot, good balance (or not so long as it fitted) and suchnot.
Played a few Dev choice missions that were...horrible, frankly.
OT, wouldnt it be easier to make in-game emails go to a @Handle account, rather than character? So, You would have @Handle, with every character under it.
Thus, sent an email to Character 1.
Character 2 logs on, has an email in the @Handle Inbox, under Character 1.
More flexible?
