  1. This one has always puzzled me, especially when brawl has, as mentioned, already got animations to use. Which would work fine for Boxing. Kick might take a tad more work...might. I just don't see why this hasn't happened already...
  2. Ooooh, you evil person, you had me! Well played.

I cannot emphasise this enough. That and the old, god-awful 'Hunt, fed-ex, hunt, Defeat All, Defeat All, Hunt, Defeat All' missions of yore. They ALL need to go die in a fire...

    Endless War

Funnily enough, we were discussing this the other day on Union RP chat. I think the problem is the glut of Incarnate level content, while the majority of 'typical' Super Hero and Villain stuff is sort of sitting there, doing not much.

I'm still advocating, loudly, that the pre Hollows and Faultline revamp stuff is ALL in dire, dire need of trimming down, cutting out all the fed-exes that make no sense, the filler junk, the 'go see the security chief' missions that I think about 1% of people must actually like...

The quality of missions recently has been great. The level of Praetoria and First Ward (without, might I add, all those stupid, pointless ambushes...) should be the base level for the entire game. Not getting out of Atlas and suddenly being sent on hunts and fed-exes like it's 2004...

There is a wealth of hero and villain groups, as Sam mentions, that could have tons more exposition. They really should get it.

Well I'm happy the entire game doesn't revolve around you, then. Because I'm pretty sure you are in the minority that finds that crap 'fun'.

"Hrm, he specializes in mez. Should I be worried about mez? Say it ain't so!"
"It ain't so! Here, we'll make you invincible to it because being perma-mezzed is SO not fun!"
Because Tanks were so good at damage that....no, uh....Tanks were so good at...
Oh, that's right, the only thing most Tank sets have going IS the defences and resistance. Which get ****** when you get mezzed. Shields suppressed? Yup! Which pretty much always resulted in insta-death. I see no *good* counter to that.
  6. Speak for yourself...Found it to be fine here, and that was before last night when I finally got to slot SOs at 22.

Yeah, because being perma-mezzed is SO much fun for the poor sod on the other side.

And it's not like Controllers and Dom's could even mez a Tank through all their shields, Nope....oh, wait, yes they could. And THAT sucked.

Pre-I13 wasn't this Golden Age that people seem to make it out to be. It didn't have the problems of Post 13 PvP, but it did have it's own batch of suck.
  8. /Signed, leave them as they are and allow for Ouro travel. The mechanism is THERE, guys, use the damn thing.
  9. Yeah, sign me up for 'The face looks weird', end of. I guess I can live with sill spinal contortion (Is Penny left or right handed? Had that same argument Re: States vs Warworks) but the face just looks bad as it is.
  10. I wish he'd put the helmet back on. Posi's armour looks great as it is, if a bit low-res.

    I can't say I'm a fan of the mecha-fied version, either.

Her-Durrrr. Yes, my bad. I keep forgetting Ice and Fire is VIP.
  12. As a T9 VIP, this gets my signed. The only stuff in there so far is costume parts, and some of the better ones at that. Gating them like that is just....eh. I can't say I approve. So, yeah, /Signed

On Beta both Celestial and Mecha are still in the Tier 9 VIP slot. So...

Yeah, I think it is indeed TW with a weird angle.

I thought for a moment it might be something like the Resistance Heavy Barrel cannons, until I realised there wasn't so much a cannon as a hilt/handle. Ah well...

What is that weapon? What the hell set is that using?
I....guess it could be an existing weapon at some very odd angle, but it doesn't look like Katana or Titan Weapons...?

Eh, I like both sides equally for my own play-type, and this character made more sense Blueside, because I care about junk like that.

Red sides contacts, however, all have an actual plot to them, except the obvious Brokers.
The Blue side contacts do NOT. The overwhelming majority of them are horrible throw-backs to Issue 0-1, where everything was hunts, Defeats alls, fed-exing and more hunts. They REALLY badly need an overhaul.
  19. Damn, this should have gone in Suggestions.... Oh well

Oh, god, I'd forgotten about him clogging up the contacts bar....yes, PLEASE make that...man an OPTIONAL contact. Or, y'know, have him call-out when you enter the AE, so that people going there can pick him up if they NEED to. Strewth.
  21. So. I never finished Twinshot's arc, so what the heck, figured I'd do it on my new staff character. Have to take a break until she'll talk to me again at 15, though.
Ok, no problem. I'll go do Montague's arc. Hmn, not 15 yet. Oh well, he gave me a contact....

Enter Kyle Peck. Ok, haven't heard that name before, guessing he's old content.

I should have known. I should have run a bloody mile at the sight of the ancient, non-descript civilian model. But no, like a trusting fool I walked up and thought he might give me missions.

'Go talk to the Hero Corps Analyst in Kings Row'

    ......

Ok, fine. Just a one off sur-

'Have you talked to Lt Winscott in the Hollows?'

    .....

No. No and I am level 13, he has nothing to intere-

'Go Hunt 10 Vahzilok in Steel Canyon'.

Clearly Mr Peck is deciding to be very unhelpful today. Right. Fine. I'll ignore the...man and go to another contact he gives me, Dr Trevor Seaborn. Another one I don't know, maybe HE will have some actual content with, heaven forbid, a plot and a point.

'Go to Perez and fight Hellions, despite them being below your level' OR 'Go talk to the Skyway City Security Chief so you can hunt 10 Trolls.'

What. The. Hell. Guys. What is it going to take to cut all this old junk out of the game for good? For one, the Hero Corp Analyst should be covered, surprised surprise, IN THE TUTORIAL. If, you know, the Tutorial covered anything at all, rather than being 'Look, Shiny new Shivans!!'

I just....I honestly don't know what to say that is actually printable. For the love of sanity and sense, Get. Rid. Of This. Junk. It has NO place in a game that has the new Atlas, Mercy and Praetoria, let alone First Ward and the quality content like that. What the hell will new players thing, going from the polished and story-rich content to suddenly doing THIS crap?! All of my Why?

Except GG is not the only one with 'sources'.

Sorcery is by far and away NOT a Medicine clone. Other than that detail, nothing more.

When I first heard it, I assumed it would be explained in Dark Astoria, since that kinda' sorta' deals with the Well in a roundabout way, but it isn't. Or it wasn't in my playthrough anyway. Not much about the Well is mentioned at all, other than "Mot will become a new Well!" which made my scratch my head. Does anyone know what that's all about?
I think most of that comes from Prometheus. I think.

    2. The absolute adolescent trash talking is annoying after 5 minutes

    3. In reference to above: the homophobic and racists remarks are disgusting and seen as funny and acceptable - I don't hang around racist or homophobes irl why would I do it in my leisure time?

    4. The rewards - Hmm let's see - a minuscule chance at a worthless recipe drop - no thanks. Sure there are badges, but I honestly could care less about the pvp badges.

    5. Stand and fight already - zone pvp is run run run run phase run run run run - boring.

Every now and then some friends and I get together and arena for fun - and it is fun because we don't treat it seriously or get angry and start trash talking each other.

I actually preferred pvp issue 7-9 with SOs when it actually took skill. And to those who whine that Issue 13 killed pvp - no the pvp community killed pvp. Back in the day pvp was about skill and people would actually gratz others when they were beaten - now it's all about slinging profanity and nothing more than a huge pissing contest.

If you want a sample of zone pvp - watch the Arena Chat channel for about an hour - the complete infantile "conversations" will show you the maturity level of the pvp community.

    tldr;
the pvp community is rude and the lack of rewards make pvp not worthwhile.
That...does actually sum up a lot of it.

Put it this way; CoH is a game where the RNG is God. So, whoever has the best-chance on the RNG with their build will likely win, even factoring in 'skill'.

Really, though, I hated parts of the Old PvP as much as some of the weird bits of the new. Being perma-held, AS A TANK? That was never fun. The whacky way that nothing works the same in PvP as it does in PvE? Yeah, also not cool. Being kited by ranged fighters and being unable to target them because tab instantly went to the nearest NPC instead because the guy happened to be above me was also a pin.

    Ideally, to get back into PvP would need;

-NPCs to not be godly bastids
-Powers and such to be balanced so they are not horrifically different from the PvE versions, which just makes everything confusing
    -More rewards, less junk
