    Ice/Ice Brutes?

I just had to share with everyone my Fire/Ice Tank just hit 38 and he used Frozen Aura for the first time! *tears up* it's just so beautiful!

  3. You guys have brought up some really great ideas for the set! I really like what others have said about looking at consume.

I have a Fire/Ice Tank and even with Stamina and Consume I am sucking down blues. I know Both sets are hard on end but JEEZ lol. I feel like I should slot my tank only with Accuracy and End Reduc.

The other thing about Confuse is that confused mobs will heal you and your team. The lightning storm of a confused mob will attack its summoner. Confused Rikti Guardians will bubble you and your team. It's one of the coolest things about Confuse/Deceive, and not everyone is aware of it.
Very True. One of my Faves is Confusing A Tsoo Sor. I love when they heal you and hurricane your foe's T0 Hit into oblivion.
  5. I do think Ice/Dark is uber....but it Takes SOOOO long for it to really shine I think. Unless you're one of those people who craft stuff early. With my toon end was a BIG issue until I slotted some sets.

Even with only SO's that toon was deadly though! My fav is getting right up to the mish boss and sneaking around the corner to...Tar Patch+Build Up+Ice Storm+Blizzard. This combo is so redonkulous that you find yourself fiending for the nuke and screaming at it to recharge!

Also You feel a lot like a controller you bring so much to the team as an Ice/Dark I felt much like a controller with my slows, fear, and perma holds.

I also got tired of getting hit by an immob, trying to use SJ or something else to move away and end up getting stuck to the ground.

Also, cimerorans used to rip me a big hole.
Yes cimerorans devastated my elec/elec broot.

You might want to look into dominators as well.

If control is what u want to experience as a solo player, they have the kill speed to make control fun in a scrapperish kind of way.
They dont rely on pets to be able to really shine with pve content.

Also, dark/dark defenders are some of the best "controllers" in the game.

But if your stuck on the controller AT, Id suggest as a first time player either
    grav/kin or ice/rad.
Really?! No offense but I think those two combos are horrible for a New Player...It took me months to figure out Gravity and Kin Let alone Ice/rad.
  8. I'm a sucker for Taking Maneuvers the SOA Version and maneuvers the Leadership pool version. I also like taking both Assaults haha one can't knock the 30% extra dmg coming from one toon!
  9. Sonic/Dark here. Fire Dark is nice but in the early levels it will OWN you end wise.

I have to admit Dark is a solid secondary to solo with period.
  10. Indeed when you put any color in it...it looks like you are wearing a ugly looking dress lol. I just keep it as the default color which is very beautiful.

I like twiddles thumbs better actually .

As for Psy Corrupters: I don't really PvP, and it's a bad set for PvE regardless of which version we get, so meh.

As for FF Corrupters: While Cold does steal a bit of FF's thunder, Cold really doesn't cut it when you want some of what FF offers. I've played both. Cold's freaking hardcore debuffs really do leave FF out in the cold mechanically (*rimshot*), but I still sometimes miss the things my bubbler had. Besides the nice things like better Defense, Repulsion Bomb(!) and status protection (!!), there is the more general factor that FF has always been highly conducive to blasting (in contrast to Cold, which expects you to spend a lot of time bubbling and debuffing). It would be nice to see it backing up an AT that has blasting as its primary!
Did someone said Ice scrappers?! *pokes head out*

Well if that's the case you are not scrapper locking, no? Eh, regardless everyone has their style. Let me bow out before this gets to prickly.

We had an eight-person pickup group consisting of my MA/Regen scrapper, a Warshade, and assorted other types. As we were clearing the frosties out of the central cave of the BNY map, somebody accidentally aggroed a Shadow Cyst crystal.

    Teamwipe.

"Okay, let's regroup and try that again"

    Teamwipe.

"Let's try pulling the frosties to clear things out"

    Teamwipe.

"This is starting to get annoying"

After the third teamwipe, I'd bought a tray-full of purple inspirations. The rest of the team faceplanted, and I spent the next few minutes feeling like I was in the middle of a bubble -- nothing was touching me. I was vaguely aware that three members of the team had quit, and that the team leader was talking about resetting the mission. During that time, I wiped out the last of the frosties, most of the Nictus spawn, a handful of Redcaps, and the crystal, at which point I faceplanted -- those things pack a punch when they go down. That was enough that the rest of the team was able to clear out the room, at which point I rezzed and we were able to finish the mission.
You see this is a VALID excuse for scrapperlock. *puts in vote* I feel that one should only scrapperlock when it seems beneficial to the team as a whole and this is example here is understandable as it is awesome. I did the Same thing with my Stalker two day ago on a BNY mish Poor floating Nictus didn't even have a chance :P.

Also Alien One, wow, I am a Kheld player so showing me a vid of you solo'ing Malta just made me shrug and say "Yeah, I know Warshades are Awesome my WS has had to scrapperlock before to keep a team from wiping." Awesome Vid bud but it seems you were solo when fighting that spawn. Scrapperlock solo is cool and I am not saying soloing Malta or Nemesis isn't possible but you and me know 90% of the time on teams The player runs back to the group with their tail between their legs and Malta hot on their trail.

I am not saying scrapperlock is purely evil just it should be used at certain times...Not "Oh let me go this way separate from the group any chance I can get b/c I am awesome". If that's the case why would one join a team?

I'm not saying it can't be done just please don't selfishly go over to fight the whole group while half of the Ranged At's get taken out in the process. I know some of you guys like to bust heads but sometimes other players need for you to be close by so you can be their meat shields . LOL

BTW I rated the vid very nice. I find my most fun moments when I solo a huge spawn of Ritki..mmmm.

My only issue with pets for cosmetic reasons. I just can’t “see” my guy having a sidekick helping him attack. However, I’ve not done it in this game either, so I could learn to change my mind.

I’m going to mess around for a little while and see what I come up with. More to come…
Hrmm...So you want virtually no pets but Good control? I would go Mind. My first controller was Illusion and Then Gravity. I think Earth, Mind and Plant are the Safest Controller Primaries.

    What is your characters theme?
  16. Indeed tell me what issue you have with pets so we can help you out more .

I got my debt badges pretty darn quickly needless to say, and its a build for people who love a challenge, I was just too stubborn to give up on it then got use to saying "will brute for blues".
Haha Such an awesome saying...You should of named your toon that! Will Brute for Blues.

From what you are saying i´m very inclined to continue with the Dom and just drop the Brute lol.

What build would you suggest for a brute?
    Dom i´ve created a Mind/Fire
For Solo most of your career I would say Stalker to be honest. They can team as well but being a Stalker is SO satisfying.

If you must pick between a Brute and a Dom for solo I would go brute...but it seems you cater towards the Long Range/Punch people in the face AT so Dom will be your best bet.

Mind/Fire is nice, controlled, ranged and powerful.

Hrmm Well for a Brute what exactly are you looking for? Something that's hard to kill? I would go 1.Willpower 2.Invincibility 3.Super Reflexes

As far as primary I would pick according to your style. The Default Choice for most players is Super Strength. Solid Damage, yummy Rage and you keep the baddies floppin' 'round like fish.

Dark Melee is Nice With ANY armor. Excellent constant Damage, To Hitt Debuffs and powers that help with END and healing woes. Some say it doesn't have much mitigation but with the tools it provides you I don't see an issue. If need be pick up Air Superiority.

Claws is sooooo fun the only down side is the Lethal Dmg that gets HEAVILY Resisted in the Late Game but just like with the other two sets I listed Above you will have no problem keeping your fury bar full!

You need to find your style bud. lol

    Brute - Dom

I could go into true depth and answer all of your questions...but since I have a mean case of ADD I have to decline lol. It all sums up to this: during low levels (MOST) Doms will sail right on through thanks to the new huge buff they received not to long ago(Thank God). One would say though Around lvl 18 you start to notice the Brute pushing ahead. The dom doesn't really catch up until lvl 40 and there after. I think you die more with the brute due to the love of SMASH. I found myself doing this on many occasions...ripping through minions and LTs. even though if I continue I will faceplant...yet I still trudge on with no intent of stopping. With my Dom I am much more cautious and tactical.

Some doms...ok almost All Doms will be Godly much like a controller near 50 but Brutes surpass doms more when it comes to passive survival.

I enjoy both AT's and I must admit my Brutes are much more tough than my Doms...now take in mind I don't spend cash on IO Sets.

My Doms are sick and can kill things far faster than my brute....but My Doms can't handle all that Aggro and they face plant but if you have a good Stalker or brute on the team you can go to town. I am still amazed how much aggro a dom can attract. That's why on teams you see so many doms with Debt Badges. I think my Fire/Thorn Dom can out tank my brutes!
  22. I only have seen like 4 players who went Fire/Dark or Stone/Dark ...they work together but HOLY SH--- The end usage! If you are hardcore enough you can get him to a high enough lvl...but if I was you I would have two accounts...one for your farming toon and one for him lol. That way you don't have to suffer.

Check the brute section for now. I doubt anyone would post anything for scrappers since they are in some sense similar to brutes.

When I first started playing Red Side Longbow scared me beyond belief...due to the fact I saw them drop two Stone Brutes thanks to Sonic Grenade stacking.
