Bane for duo with Night Widow
Bane, Crab or Huntsman (check the guides section) are all good duo partners for a widow.
I would suggest you both take Maneuvers.
Dont forget that you both can take a power that works like quickness from super reflexes so you could go without travel powers.
You will need stamina I think, but can probably live without hasten.
Call reinforcements is very handy to have.
Poisnous Ray is very good damage, especially with venom grenade.
I'm a sucker for Taking Maneuvers the SOA Version and maneuvers the Leadership pool version. I also like taking both Assaults haha one can't knock the 30% extra dmg coming from one toon!

First off, sorry if I broke some kind of forum rule for posting all the pictures instead of links...I was just trying to put it all in one place so you could compare.
Widow defense numbers
Widow no mind link
Widow slotting
Fortunata defense numbers
Fortunata slotting
Bane defense
Bane Build
I included both builds for my widow, because the fortunata's mind link is not slotted for recharge also, so that changes things a little but still stacks nicely. Had I done that to my widow, with double maneuvers, that would be his numbers with 30ish secs. of downtime for mindlink. Just hasten on a simple build llike this gives me 3 full minutes of that defense in a pinch. I dropped hasten once I got Elude though. If you are stacking with a bane's maneuvers then you should be good to go on both fronts.
I would say hasten won't matter, once you get alot of attacks. My build is up to 42. You will also see that I don't have any accuracies in my widow build, but I do have both his offensive accuracy tools and he only solo's +1's and +2's. The Fort version is a team character, so I want to make sure that version hits...period. I will say that hasten on a -->widow<-- with minimal IO frankenslots give you Elude-level defense for 3 minutes(back to back mindlink) when you want it. If you have the money, you can slot sets for recharge bonuses and become even more rediculous. My widow also has elude, just for giggles.
I say stack as much of the other stuff as you can and you can fight harder and harder enemies and still have a relatively easy time with them. 60% damage+buildup+crit=someone having a bad day! I will fix my bane build when I get a chance, because I want maneuvers for that build too, so that it will be somewhat more sturdy like the Crab version of him.
Also, I will note that I bought the ninja pack just for ninja run and don't use travel. Before then, I used the Grandville jetpack.
I am not a powergamer, but I do like to be good at what I do, so take this build with a grain of salt. But, I think it shows what a regular build can possibly look like without a lot of IO's, so you can imagine the rest, full sets, +recharge, purples, etc. Sorry if the thoughts are all over the place, hopped up on Redbull and still trying to get the thoughts together with the photos.
We will generally be trying to get a larger team going, so it seems to make sense to grab as many leadership toggles as we can.

That also lets you take all the Leadership buffs and such on the "crab team build" and maybe not quite as many on the "solo/duo bane build".
One minor note, you may want a Stealth IO for your wife's Widow anyway. Widow stealth isn't quite as good as Soldier stealth, and bosses (maybe lts as well) can see through it at close range.
Thats why Night Widows get smoke grenades.
I'm working on my first SoA with my wife's first SoA. I went soldier, she went widow. I'm trying to see where we're going down the road. She will be choosing Night Widow path, so it makes sense to me to go with the Bane, so that we can both stealth when need be.
My problem is there are soooo many options, I can't take everything I want.
From training and gadgets, I know I want everything except Wolf Spider Armor, CT:O, and call Reinforcements.
From Bane Spider Training I want everythin except Web Cocoon.
From Arachnos Soldier I want Venom Granade at the very least. WAWG and Frag Grenade look good too, but maybe they're not.
From Bane Spider Soldier I like Bash, Pulverize, Shatter, Placate, and Crowd Control, maybe build up too.
I like CJ and SJ for travel, I'm pretty sure I'll need stamina, and I'd like the leadership pool as well.
And then I have to take 2 out of Single Shot, Pummel, Burst, Bash, Mace Beam, and Mace Beam Blast.
That's more powers than I can take. I will only be playing PvE content. Normal missions while leveling up. Would like to do SF's once we're 50. I will almost always be playing with at least my wife's NW. We will generally be trying to get a larger team going, so it seems to make sense to grab as many leadership toggles as we can.
So here are some questions I have. Does it make sense for both of us to take both Assault powers? I would think so. Extra 60% damage for everyone on the team sounds good.
Do we both need to take both Tactics powers? I can see maybe not. An extra 30% to hit is nice, an extra 60% seems like quite a bit of overkill, not to mention the 5-7% from mindlink.
Should we both take both Manuevers? I would be giving 20% defense, she would be giving 13%. Total of 33% hardly seems like overkill, even with her almost 15% from mind link. That soft caps everyone on the team, providing they stay within range and her mind link is perma.
Which brings me to hasten, a power which I didn't even mention above. It would definitely be nice to have venom grenade and surveillance up more often, as well as pulverize, shatter, and crowd control.
Can you give me some ideas about what my priorities and strategies should be? What am I overlooking, overrating, and underrating? I probably coud use some help with my wife's NW build as well, but I'm ok with focusing on the bane build here.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
