  2. There was a two day period or so after one of the early issues (4...5??) when Dark Astoria had no fog....that was kinda cool.

    I know it is just me.... but I am really tired of the AE exploits fix patches.

    People are smart and will always find a new exploit with the current system of AE rewards. Thousands of cats are out of the bag and Paragon Studios runs around trying to herd them now….good luck with THAT.

    How about the rewards for an AE mission are capped…..so no matter what goofy intentional farming/PL exploit is discovered…..you still can’t get more then the cap rewards for a mission.

  5. There are things I have avoided, and continue to avoid.

    Any of the Archery, Trick Arrow, Devices, Assault Rifle type ATs. They don't seem....super.

    CoV; that whole concept of using special talents/gifts to help myself at other's expense is a fail for me. I will certainly be exploring the various ATs there with GR however.

    Ice/Stone ATs: the UGLY UGLY..... GEEZ that is UGLY......look is a barrier. Why even bother with a suit in the costume creator. Those Ice defenders that toss out the random blocks of Ice.......GRRRRRR. I did finally try an Ice/Ice Blaster tho, he is pretty cool (pun intended).

    Sonics: their power effects give me a noggin ache in short order so I just avoid em.

    Kheldian forms: they work fine...as intended.... they are just.....UGLY.. see above. I have gotten a WS mostly solo to 50 as a human only, and another in a steady duo up to 47. I also have two PBs in steady duos climbing the ranks. I really like human only PBs, just a tad of mez protection and they would be my easy favorite AT, but Combat Jump, Acrobatics, Increased Density, etc etc help enough to make em fun.

    Empathy: great to have around.....don't want to be one.

    Bubbler: great to have around... don't want to be one ever again....my first 50 was a bubbler.
  6. Go to Wentworth's and look at the price of PvP recipes.

    There is a single PvP recipe I've seen selling for 2 BILLION (that B is no mistake) influence, and there have been multiple recent takers at the price. Most of the other PvP recipes are in the hundreds of millions.

    PvP is the domain of PLers that avoid/exploit the PvE game to get to PvP. It is the domain of Farmers fixated on possessing the most expensive possible widgets. It is the domain of RMT website users paying $ for influence to buy the 2 BILLION influence recipe.

    PvP is not heroic, it has no story, and apparently for those who participate (see above) is not fun. A great deal of time and developer effort has gone into Dual Builds, PvP specific recipes, making powers function totally different in PvP verses PvE zones; etc etc.....and STILL the PvPer's complain.

    My vote is don't waste ANY more resources on PvP, leave it as is, don't touch it! Developement resources need to focus on GR, power set proliferation, new stories, improved graphics and environments, power customization; all that stuff.

    PvP......lol

    Actually it could be exploited by a level one toon... they just needed a level 46 plus friend to invite them to a team.... and a Piller of Ice and fire in an SG base the low level could enter.

    I thought it rather odd this was a possiblity which I why I posted this the first day the new cape mission was available.

    I'm glad the Dev's took swift action to preserve their concept of earning a cape at level 20.

    So the new cape mission is gone from the Piller of Ice and Fire lists.....oh twell.

    The new cape mission is better..... but.........they have not addressed the actual complaints most people mention. The worst aspect of the old and now new cape mission is the 3 talk too missions...... especially the ridiculous Indy crawl.

    So how about to REALLY improve things, the City Rep gives you the same 3 talk to missions...... but.... all the contacts are to be found IN the City Hall building......and the first mission...... visiting the memorial.... is actually down the hall in the City Hall building as the Reps says. You still get the story..... you get the new mission.... but you fix the points of complaint.

    New Cape Mission

    Just ran one of my 50s with a friends 11 on the new cape mission..... she got "capes now available at the tailor" after we completed it.

    Edit: comfirmed.....my friend the 11 has the cape on.

    Lowbies with friends in high places can now get capes early!

  11. Mine came from the callsign (nickname) picked for me when I was with the 494th Fighter Squadron....back in the day.

    Not all callsigns stick.....but mine lasted for 10 years....four different squardrons at two different bases.

    When my wife called the last squadron I was assigned to she had to ask for Tally....nobody knew my real name.....geez guys look at the name tag......but NOOO......."hey Tally..... it's yer wife."
  12. Only spawn banner events in Atlas Park, Talos, and Perigrine Island heroside. This ties in with the idea that too many events diluted the ability of teams to form that had a chance to succeed. By the forth day or so of the event I never saw banners even vunerable, much less all four banners defeated, in any zones but the three I listed.

    Make the banner vunerable when enough defenders are defeated, not enough defenders at EACH banner. If that is too hard to re-engineer, then at least change the information verbiage provided to clearly state the requirement to engage defenders at every banner.

    Thanks for the great addition to the Halloween Event this year!

    That is not my point....the INSTUCTIONS do not say you need to divide the team and imply that dividing your team is poor strategy. If you have to defeat defenders at every banner, the INSTUCTIONS should reflect that requirement.
  16. The instructions say...defeat enough defenders to make the banners vulnerable. The instructions do not say defeat enough defenders at EACH banner to make the banners vulnerable.

    By dividing forces at multiple banners you are assuring you don't have adequate firepower to defeat a vulnerable banner; and many are suggesting you then have to rally the team at one banner at a time anyway. Try that strategy in Indy Port, assemble the team is your friend.

    The fastest method I've seen is concentrate at one banner; the more hero's there the more baddies to defeat and open up the banners for attack. Once the banners are open you are already concentrated for banner defeat and the only travel time is to the next closest banner.

    Soooo....question to the Dev's, which is it.....defeat enough defenders (as the event information reads).....or defeat enough defenders at EACH banner?????

    Regardless of how it really works, it is a very fun addition the the Halloween Event. Thanks Dev's for the great addition!

  20. Lots of QoL upgrades, pet zoning/email control/having my toons level displayed....win!

    Amazingly good first hack at power customization, and much more to follow...win!

    Lots of teaming improvements with the auto SK/exempt, difficulty slider controls...win!


    Two thumbs up from me.....buuuut (there is always a but).

    One thing I really really REALLY dislike...the mission holder is now the name that goes on top of the team list?!?!?!

    Why..... what is the benefit????

    This is driving my partners that do lots of buffing and keybinding NUTS...and I can honestly see no benefit to re-order the names on the team list. Please please get rid of this name re-ordering thing.

    Is there an option to stop this silly feature... someone tell me there is an option I missed.

  23. If I were an AE'er (which I'm not) I'd say "what are zones?"

    I'll put in a vote for Indy Port, miles long, ugly, no university, no Wentworths, some of the stores and contacts at the FAR ends and therefore avoided.

    I see a couple contacts near the tram, do the Icon suit slot mission, and avoid from then on.
