  1. My eyes are fully open to my awful situation,
I shall go at once to Roderic and make him an oration.
I shall tell him I've recovered my forgotten moral senses,
And I don't care twopence-halfpenny for any consequences.
Now I do not want to perish by the sword or by the dagger,
But a martyr may indulge a little pardonable swagger,
And a word or two of compliment my vanity would flatter,
But I've got to die tomorrow, so it really doesn't matter!

... okay, I got that off my chest. It's all that sprang to mind seeing the thread title, and feels so very germaine. Look, Ultimo, You should consider changing your general 'mode' on these forums. If you approach problems as 'Hey, guys, is this what you experience too?' rather than 'This is what I experience, and therefore things need to change based on that,' you might find information is more forthcoming.

For you to get your first 50. I'm asking this out of a somewhat self-pity because a month or two ago I got my 12 month vet award and my highest level toon that I had was a level 21 that I will scrap as soon as i get a toon to the same level. If you plan to ask What my play time/style I usualy only got to play on weekends for about 5 hours at a time. So back to my original question how long did it take you to get your first 50.

[/ QUOTE ]When I got my 18 month vet reward, I had only one character above level 22.

I sat down and worked at it, and got Battlebriar from 1-50 in about four to six months of very casual play with an SG. Then I sat down and solo'd Rose Paladin from 1-50 in about three weeks.

Getting there fast is nothing important. It's enjoying what you're doing that is.
  3. In light of all this, Billz, are you planning on reconsidering [ QUOTE ]
Energy Melee's mitigation and aoe potential are too low.

    You decide

For that matter, if the devs provide a hard definition for exploitive behaviour, people will then go right up to that limit and claim they're somehow being not exploitive. If they say 'earning 5,000 tickets in one mission is exploitive' people will go up to 4,999 and stop, even though they are still exploiting the system to get values that high. So they either set the bar so low that players who are just legitimately good at the game get penalised, or they provide no hard definition and ignore the kind of whiny prats who don't understand the point I just made.
  5. Wow.

I thought I was a huge nerd for using emeditor. >.>
  6. The disparity comes from assuming a brute can constantly manage and uphold 90% fury at all times. If that were the case, then yes, absolutely, brutes and scrappers would need some readjusting in comparison to one another. If Billz is legitimately constantly at that high a fury rate, however, it tells me two things:

    1. It's no surprise he's unimpressed with fire armour's mitigation
    2. He's a very, very skilled player, who is very, very good at managing resources

To actually get that level of performance would mandate a great deal of skill. I don't see a problem with letting very skilled players squeeze a skill-based mechanic for a lot of effect. I also don't think that it's a reasonable projection, but if Billz is confident he can do it, I'm not about to call him a liar over it.
  7. See, finally, open letters getting results.

Just as a vague question, which of you people would be comfortable having say, me speaking for you?

    Right?

    Right?

Okay, now consider the difficulty involved.

Well, I would. Though I'd constantly [censored] that you're being too nice to people.

You don't get to post when you're in the oubliette.

    [/ QUOTE ]

See, here we go with the sissy stuff again. An oubliette is just a dark moist hole. Not like you'd have to force me in there. Unless it's tiny. Taking away my lighters would be much worse.

[/ QUOTE ]I think the main problem with the oubliette is that everyone would be in one.

  12. So, here's my currently planned build for my Empathy/Archery defender. If it's not obvious, I'm not very keen on the idea of a 'serious heals' kind of empath, and I don't doubt for a second he'd be a weak addition to a Master of Statesman's Task Force. On the other hand, for normal PVE content, he can buff people up, then shoot away under his own steam. His endurance consumption doesn't seem to be all that bad, thanks to a large amount of end redux in his attacks, but I can't say for sure - I suspect Healing Aura will be cast a lot, so maybe it needs more end redux than recharge.

To outline for those people who don't recognise it on their own, the plan is to use Hover to remain out of reach of melee attacks, and therefore lean on a lot of Ranged Defence. This protects from melee mezzes and even from a lot of ranged mezzes too - only Dominate from Rikti Mentalists seems to ignore the defence. I can't see any AoE mezzes that aren't really corner case things, either. Plus, I have Healing Aura to top my health up if that 40% defence isn't enough.

So. Any thoughts? Any places I can squeak a bit more defence without excessive sacrifice? Any thing you'd do differently?

  15. Jesus christ, I wake up in the morning and y'all have gone berserk.

    Awesome.

To engage on a serious, serious topic, as a male, I was once offered by my father a large sum of money if I'd 'cut my damn hair.' I've got a kind of generic, nothing-special brown hair, and I proceeded to get it cut back to Jonathon-Brandis lookalike length, then, because I had money left over, bleach it. Turns out my hair doesn't take well to bleach - I wasn't a blonde, I was more a kind of orangey redhead for a few months.

Also, god damn, people post some interesting pics.

The best part is when this friend reads this thread he's going to be pissed at me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I imagine, at the very least, he will be quite unimpressed with you.
I imagine he would make a point about ArcanaVille having already proven Sexieness by her dedication to the Math.
At least, those are the things I would imagine to be the case.

[/ QUOTE ]Yes, I would imagine that would be the case. It's a good thing this friend can't currently get within choking distance of me isn't it, friend?

My friend might be my wife.
  23. That's such a good idea.

Though there should be a spoiler warning in this thread. Oh, darn my lack of foresight!
