  1. I think the Sidekick/Lackey system is one of the best things about CoX. I wouldn't change it for the world.

    Well, maybe for the WORLD.
  2. Villains definately get more humour in their arcs than heroes do, and it's more evident in the Grandville contacts than anywhere else - Von Grun and Television especially.

I found The Radio quite funny at first, but it got old after a while. I can only take so many shouts of 'Radioooooooooo!'.

    Never any harm in asking.
  4. This seems like a rather simple request. More costume options are always good.

    AFK!

From friends I don't mind too much, and I don't actually team with anyone except friends. So it's generally not an issue.

What *does* irritate me however is when people suddenly have to go AFK during a fight. Can't they take at least ten seconds to make sure the fight is under control? But then, unless I die, it still doesn't bother me that much.
  6. ((Assuming you're referring to the monstrous legs with robotic feet that I know Professor Terror uses, those legs can have pants on them, rather than the mechanical design you use. It's only the feet that can't be altered.))

    Red Griffins

    “Mr. Murumbi?”

The dark skinned man glanced over his shoulder, taking in every detail of the two suited men standing behind him. One was a thin pencil pusher type, with balding hair and horn rimmed glasses. His companion was obviously there as some sort of muscle, a much larger man who looked uncomfortable in the suit. They were both white men.

They didn’t fit into their surroundings at all. They were in the middle of the desert after all. Noah was being hired by the US military to handle special operations in Iraq, and was staying with one of the standard regiments until he got his next assignment. They were in the mess tent right now, and Noah had a table all to himself. None of the soldiers wanted to sit anywhere near him, so now they watched quietly as these two men interrupted him.

    “Yes?”
    “Mr. Murumbi, we’re from-”
“I know who you are from.”
    “…You do?”
“You from ‘legal’, yes? It is bad to break prisoners arm after surrender, so I in trouble with de Whiteman?”
“…Nnno. We’re actually here to talk to you about your future employment.”

Noah sighed and swung his legs out, turning to face the two men and standing up.

    “Oh?”
“Yes, we’ve arranged for the end of your contract with the United States military, and-”
    “I am fired?”
“Oh, no, not at all. You see-nngh!”

Noah’s right hand had snapped out and cupped the mans crotch, the tendons standing out on his arm showing that he was squeezing very hard. He grinned, brilliant white teeth standing out against his dark goatee and black skin.

“See, de white man, that is you, he hates de black man. Dis is me”
    “M-m-mr. Murumbi, plllease!”

The larger of the two men stepped forward, reaching out to grab hold of Noah. Noah’s left hand lashed out and grabbed the mans wrist, twisting it sharply and snapping the bones inside. He kept wrenching it to the side until the man fell to his knees, eyes squeezed shut as he howled his pain.

“So let me ask you dis, if de white man do bad things, would he be fired? Or is this just for de black man?”
“We’re offering you a job Mr. Murumbi, a job!”
    “Oh.”

He seemed to consider this for a minute before letting go of the two men, letting the thinner one fall to the ground next to his companion.

“Why did you not say this? I will sign, I hate dis country. Too bright, eh?”

  9. Have you heard of 'Arachnoids'? This is more or less an existing villain group.
  10. Welcome, as everyone else has already stated if you have any other questions feel free to ask. I hope you enjoy the game, and don't listen too much to the do gooders. Villainy is our future. *Nods wisely*
  11. Be that as it may Sorudo, your suggestion still isn't related to 'Quality of Life' as its been set out it in this thread. I'd suggest making a seperate thread pertaining specifically to increasing the range of available weapon models. Or posting this suggestion, along with your links, in Sexy Jays costume request thread, as this may fall under that umbrella.

Regarding QoL suggestions, labelling the Midnighter Club doors would be a definate plus to me. Signs would work, or symbols like those used for the different exits in Pocket D.

Pretty much everything Valkyrst mentionned so far is solid gold, and gets /signed by me.

I'm not sure if QoL on the forums is included here, but something simple like a redname going through the stickied threads in the different forum sections and making sure they aren't outdated might be nice. FAQ's and such, since some of them were made several issues ago. As they stand, some of them may be misleading to new players, or even confusing for existing ones.

  13. *Puts himself in suspended animation, set to release him when the announcement is made*

If I'm *really* lucky, I'll wake up at i14. It'll be like two issues in one, but then I'd just get hyped for i15...

The devs are cruel, to treat me with such disregard. My anticipation glands are going to burst over here.
  14. I should be fine to do Saturday with Headliner, level 38 Inv/SS Tank. He knows Ryan and would be happy to help him out. Friday is probably a no for me unfortunately.

Frederick Jones, a.k.a Headliner, was released from police custody early this morning after being taken in for questioning regarding the latest "Jargon Broadcast". No charges were pressed and Mr. Jones provided the following statement.

"I was happy to try and help the police figure out what was going on. It seems lie everytime Jargon shows up, his little 'shows' get worse and worse. I don't have any leads, but I'm making searching for him my top priority. Jargon is a dangerous individual, and it's pretty obvious he needs to be stopped."
  16. Paragon Post, Page Two

Another shocking broadcast made by the man calling himself "Jargon" was beamed directly into the living rooms of Paragon citizens last night, this one perhaps the most controversial at all not only for its content, but the fact that citizens of the Etoile Isles also recieved the broadcast.

At 7:42pm yesterday evening the television channels WSPR, MTV, The Hero Channel, VH1 Classic, Fox News and Sports Six all had their regular shows interrupted by Jargons latest spectacle. Two more people were 'executed' during this show, Jargon claiming that one was an arsonist and another a known murderer.

This broadcast was particularly unnerving for viewers as sounds of manic laughter and images from the highly controversial, and widely banned, horror movie Freaks were woven in and out of the footage. Freaks is a movie set within a travelling circus, where the members of its freakshow hunt down and murder two criminal performers.

As Jargon brought his broadcast to a close, an image of a white leering face with a hideous grin frequently superimposed itself across our television screens as Jargons face slowly began to change. It is the Paragon Posts unhappy duty to confirm suspicions, after a short investigation, that the face was that of the mask worn by former supercriminal "Laugh Riot", now Headliner of the Unity Vigil. Tests have been run on the audio of the footage and Jargon's altered voice by the end of the broadcast has been confirmed as that of Frederick Jones/Headliner.

Although Jargon, due to size, cannot possibly be Headliner, Mr. Jones has been brought in by the Paragon Police Department for questioning.
  17. Headliner has a "shrink", but I've not referred to them as anything more than that. Sorry.
  18. Afterlight Appeals

On Tuesday afternoon, the renowned heroine Afterlight and her partner Onders thwarted Nemesis Army troops as they attempted to ransack one of the abandoned underground bases in the Faultline area. In their final sweep of the base they discovered an inactive human construct, more specifically, a gynoid. Uncertain as to whether it was Nemesis Army design or not, they handed the gynoid over to DATA personnell for testing.

DATA have determined that this gynoid posesses artificial intelligence, but contains very little programming. They have deemed this gynoid to be of no immediate risk to the city or its people, and returned it to Afterlight and Onders, believing that the influence of these two heroic figures would help Paragons newest citizen adjust.

Afterlight has asked us to print this statement, and due to her saving the Paragon City Post building from Arachnos terrorist forces, we are happy to oblige.

"I and my partner are both deeply flattered by the great faith the men and women of DATA have in us to, essentially, help educate this new soul and bring her into our world. For despite her origins, she is a woman, and I believe she truly does hold a soul within her. Unfortunately, we do not feel we can handle this momentus task alone. We know nothing of integrating an Artificial Intelligence into our society, and appeal for help from those with more experience in these matters.

If you wish to help us guide this woman on her journey into humanity, please do not hesitate to contact me through MAGI.

    -Afterlight."

((Contact details are provided at the bottom of the article. Get in touch with me @Synth if you're interested in helping this character along.))
  19. They've been discussing how he can work on that Gash.

All the advice here is good. Something that really helped me stick with my characters (as much as I have anyway) was to have a long term plan for them. This can be something you, as the player, want them to achieve, or it can be an IC goal of their own. Targets make achievements easier, but on the flipside don't get tunnel vision and focus only on the goal, failing to enjoy other things as well.
  20. ((Freddy will definately be there, since he's signed on specifically to be Zorielle's bodyguard/extra security for the conference. I'm afraid I don't have any sort of IRC though, but you're welcome to have my msn addy if you want it.))

    Late Night Horrorshow!

Last night saw our television sets once again hi-jacked by the mysterious figure calling himself Jargon , who this time made his intentions all too clear. Channels Four and Six, as well as the music channel True all had their regular broadcasts interrupted at ten o'clock yesterday (Friday) evening.

Once again Jargon told us not to adjust his sets, but this time he was not on the screen simply to talk. He had a captive with him, a middle aged man whom Jargon claimed was a child molestor. The feed was interrupted by the image of a tank full of beetles crawling all over one another as the sound of elevator music played.

When the feed of Jargon resumed, his captive was slumped on the ground and bleeding profusely from his neck, with a hunting knife plunged into his back. Jargon stated, "The warning shot has been fired. There will not be another."

Police are currently investigating, and refused to give comment. Once again, the television channels involved denied any association with Jargon.

  22. I can also offer a villain with the potential for a lot of conflict, Jargon. Jargon is essentially an anti-hero taken to the extreme who considers himself to be literally at war with the criminal element. And he doesn't hesitate to take lives. What makes him interesting is that he broadcasts his efforts across the media, making his brutal tactics public knowledge and drawing attention to himself. His intentions could be good, but his methods are sick.
  23. There is the problem of the two sides being seperated, but a combination of collaberated stories and meeting in the 'neutral' areas (PvP zones, Rikti War Zone, Pocket D's) would work. There is also the option of creating a heroside version of your villain, or vice versa.

If people want to make it work there's absoloutely no reason why it can't be done.
