Personal Villains

Hey folks. Good to be back after an unplanned two month hiatus (don't we all hate our ISP?) and looking to really get my hands dirty. But I'm also hoping to work/play more with other people in the community, and (hopefully) people that I've never really had the chance to roleplay with before.

I was thinking about the wastest character opportunities there are between hero and villain side - it's something thats been discussed before. There isn't enough interaction between the reds and the blues because of the logistics of, I suppose. The thing I think is the biggest shame is that they're rarely "paired off". I know of very few villains who 'belong' to a hero or SG as it were, in that they are big enemies and butt heads often. Most peoples heroes seem to have NPC major villains, which is fine, but it seems a pity to miss out on such great roleplaying opportunities.

So I thought I'd just put this out there and see if anything comes from it. I've got a new villain who I'd really love to develop as a major and/or frequent enemy of a particular hero (a particular SG would be even better), that isn't one of my own heroes. If anyone is interested in gaining an IC enemy for their characters, let me know.

This thread can be used for other people to partner their characters, if the idea gets anywhere. It just seems a pity that apart from the occassional rivalry we see so few Hero and Villain clashes.

Ok, i'll bite first.

I got two heroes (maybe a few more) that need a villain chatacter making their life that bit more.. harder, darker, interesting.. they are as follows.

Drade (at this time not active in RP due to plotline "death") his main foe, and that of the group he belong to "The Hunters Guild" is Seeress Deagcen. She is the leader of the "Cult of choas" who has been at war with Drade's group for a very long time. Now you can find out more on her by the older plots post here on the boards, mostly they are in the IC Stroy post or have drade's name in the title of them. ( if your unable to track them down i can pm you their page numbers/names.)

There is also, Sha'dower aka Sean O'brain, a mutli millionaire from england who has come back to Paragon this week. He has a villain who want not only his powers, but his company and money, the person in question is his ex board chairman ( who as yet i haven't got around to making a name for) with the aid of a group of hired guns.

Now either of these i would love to have an in game RP villain counterpart foe with, as it would make it that bit more better for me to RP the somewhat ramdom and such events that happen.

Thanks for the reply Shadower, much appreciated. I'd just like to clarify something.

Are you asking me to play the villains you've mentionned (which I'm happy to do, if you need someone to play them) or were you asking me to provide your characters with another villain? I could have been clearer in my original post, but my thoughts were based more around partnering up players existing heroes and villains as rivals.

Interesting idea, although I'm not going to bet the rest of the lovely Toblerone in front of me that I'm entirely sure how it could be successfully managed, what with the games' two sides being so separated as they are, for one example.

I have heroes as well as villains who'd suit having a personal nemesis, given a little thinking time and the resolution of one or two current plots. I can imagine there being fun here

Is this one of those ideas where it might be useful to sticky the thread so that people can use it over the long term to set up relationships? (Not unlike the SG sticky...only more harmful to your avatars' health, I guess).

There is the problem of the two sides being seperated, but a combination of collaberated stories and meeting in the 'neutral' areas (PvP zones, Rikti War Zone, Pocket D's) would work. There is also the option of creating a heroside version of your villain, or vice versa.

If people want to make it work there's absoloutely no reason why it can't be done.

Well, my main has a personal nemesis already, another of my toons, which makes it rather hard for me to RP them meeting, but I could seriously do with a personal nemesis for Samantha Huntington.

So, if anyone has any ideas for a nasty they'd like to play who would make a good match for a telepathic, radioactive flirt with a naughty sense of humour, please let me know!

Heh. Just realised... Want ads!

WANTED: Telepathic, radioactive flirt seeks villain for fun, frolics and fights. No gender preference. GSOH a must.

My main villains, Lord Darvek and Spruk are always looking for a rumble, if they like it or not

If anyone wants one/both as an enemy to either a hero or a villain, send me a /tell ingame (@Beet) to sort out how the grudge could start. Also, a quick description for all who havn't met.

Darvek: Dark magic possessed human, has unearthly strength, resilience and speed aswell as various spells to kill with. While at home/PD/safe place he is Albert Darvek, businessman and Ahole. Stepfather of Spruk.

Spruk: Mutated guy with the ability to create/manipulate various poisons. Given a little time, he can make a chemical to do anything, from melt through vault doors to melt through heroes. When he isn't fighting, he's in PD or hanging with his gang. He's also clinically insane . Stepson of Darvek

I am the Blaster, I have filled the role of Tank, Controller and Defender
Sometimes all at once.

Shadowe, what kind of recurring/haunting villain would you most like for Sam?

If you want one that pushes the grey areas and offers some potentially meaty character conflicts I can offer Toxic Glow, a clone-made superhuman who escaped the Revenant project. What makes him a little more interesting is that he too is a Rad, and he's not the insane type of evil though he is a ruthless killer when his mercenary services ask for such. He might otherwise be a potential romantic interest for Sam, offering some nice personal conflicts beyond the crime/crimefighter ones, the old sexual chemistry tension and conflict of interests/intentions stuff.

I can also offer a villain with the potential for a lot of conflict, Jargon. Jargon is essentially an anti-hero taken to the extreme who considers himself to be literally at war with the criminal element. And he doesn't hesitate to take lives. What makes him interesting is that he broadcasts his efforts across the media, making his brutal tactics public knowledge and drawing attention to himself. His intentions could be good, but his methods are sick.

Choices, choices, choices...

Okay. Down to brass tacks. I have to say Ammon, that Toxic Glow sounds like a wonderful person for Samantha to get to grips with.

Basically, because of Sam's personality, someone with whom she can feel both attraction and repulsion would be ideal. I expect that she would view someone with a mercenary outlook as a challenge - so while she may appreciate the man, she would experience frustrations regarding his point of view.

Okay, Shadowe, we'll get our heads together on how we can make their paths cross and worlds collide.

Just some background to start your own thoughts off, Toxic Glow is a clone brought to full maturity in-vetro so to speak. No childhhod, no family, no love. He gets by mostly by copying the actions/attitudes of his peers, but with his most common contacts being other ruthless mercs, that's not great. He hasn't the points of reference to determine bravado and sort the stuff they say for accuracy, so has some pretty poor preconceptions, especially about relationships. He's been on quite a random crime spree of late, led astray by the first woman who showed any interest in him, though she was using him purely for her own pleasures and made him feel badly used/abused.

That might get the old grey matter thinking I hope.

well, those two villains i said about were/are parts of on going or just starting plots, which are open to anyone who want to give them ago. Theres a lot of give in the characters themselves, as i found with Seff when he played Magnus Fliheart for me in the first Drade plotline, who was based on the master from doctor who if i remember right, but it made the character even more than want i had thought it could be, and perfect for the plot.

As for the whole Sha'dower's foe, theres so much give in it that anything would be fine, of course the main fact of the person(s) were once his company board memeber(s) who were sacked for attempting to kill him, steal his money, and company from him, for most parts. This means any of them could be now after him, or maybe it's someone whoes been hired to get him by one of them.. who knows!?
