Quote:I've never bothered with Fitness for my peacebringers or warshades because it wasn't carrying over into forms.I have to admit... the forms just became a hell of a lot more attractive to me for both of my khels.
Late edit: I'm finding myself surprised at the lack of excitement about this. Is it because most of the forms users tend to form hop so much that you don't feel this to be as large a change as my brain is telling me it is?
If Castle does get it working for us in forms I will be ecstatic because of being able to pop things like Numina's and Miracles, etc. into them and have it help me in forms where I spend most of my time.
If he doesn't, then I will just leave them sit and ignore them. -
Quote:While you may be right, why take away the most positive interpretation? What's the gain?According to his wife.
"At the very last second (Brian) braked really hard and turned right so that he would be put in the path of the SUV and not me and the baby, and that is the only thing that saved us both."
Of course she's going to assign noble motivations to his actions so his death doesn't seem in vain.
Later in the article the accident has described this way.
"A Chevy Blazer, with four occupants, crossed the centre line when the driver tried to take her sweater off while driving, asking the other front passenger to take the wheel at the time.
When Wood braked and swerved slightly, the Blazer continued forward, its momentum driving it over top of the Subaru, the wheels crushing the roof of the smaller car killing Wood and causing his wife to suffer a non-life-threatening head injury as well." (emphasis mine)
To me it still sounds like he was simply trying to avoid the accident but simply ended up taking the brunt of the impact.
I guess what gets me is how easy people assign a noble motivation rather than a simple survival trait of trying to get out of the way of approaching danger, to his actions. I think it's more our psychological need lessen pain and sadness of an accident by assigning a noble intent. This way it doesn't seem like his death was meaningless.
People die all the time. People die in traffic accidents. Unless you've been in one you don't realize how little time you have to think and react to someone running a light at speed or crossing over into your lane. Time slows down at the moment of impact but not before. There is no time for noble choices, you simply react as best as you can.
Sadly most of us aren't wired to dodge successfully with a two ton car. And people die.
Sam Kinison used to joke that lies keep a relationship together. I go even further and say it is only deception that allows most of us to live each day without raging despair. Let people believe good things where it can do no harm. -
I feel like I ought to know InGen but it's eluding me.
I have no idea for Primatech Paper.
I am thinking the soap is for Lizzy Borden?
Red Apple Cigarettes from Pulp Fiction?
Bluth Company makes me think Arrested Development but I am not 100% certain of that one. -
I am also concerned in that regard though I have been somewhat used to it for years with my warshades and peacebringers.

Hero -> Hero 50 merits first time, 1 hero merit each time after
Hero -> Vigilante no merits
Vigilante -> Vigilante 30 merits first time, 60 merits each time after
Vigilante -> Villain no merits
Villain -> Villain 50 merits first time, 1 villain merit each time after
Villain -> Rogue no merits
Rogue -> Rogue 30 merits first time, 60 merits each time after
Rogue -> Hero no merits
If you change from Hero you lose hero merits. If you change from Villain you lose villain merits. -
Dang. We need more people like him around.

Quote:You better setup his account now so he can start earning his vet rewards. All 4 of mine had their "I wanna play" phases and it was nice to throw them onto a throwaway account instead of them filling up mine.My two year old finds CoH fascinating. So fascinating that I can't actually play unless he's asleep or out of the house- any glimpse of the game inspires his battle cry "Oh...WHASSAT?!?" as he charges the computer.
When he was younger and I hadn't yet admitted defeat his favorite zone was Atlas Park, which he called "BIG GIANT GUY!"
These days he doesn't see much other than whatever I'm doing when he wakes up/gets home. This morning that meant my stalker in the middle of a CoT morality mission, stalkers being the perfect child-friendly AT since you can abandon them pretty much anywhere and they'll be fine.
I was stealthed about 20 feet from a Nerva Spectral Demon, which inspired this conversation.
I'd love to keep playing for the running commentary, but he invariably attacks the keyboard and it's all downhill from there.
Maybe in 6 months or so... -
Quote:It got coattails from historical popularity. I didn't see it until I got the DVD from Netflix last year because it just didn't look good to me in the ads but most people don't plan when it comes to watching movies.My wife and I saw it. Thought it was great. I think this might be a movie like Fight Club that lives on long after its theatrical release. I hope so at least. I would hate to be subjected to more pap garbage.
Did Indy 4 really make $300? Sad. Lowers my already low opinion of people.
I was a little surprised to see Kick A's did so poorly but I hadn't really paid much attention to it until I had its praises sung to me repeatedly by a friend. I thought all the whining about Hitgirl's profanity would get it viewership. -
Are these Rogue tips or Villain tips? If Rogue it might be that Rogue tip missions won't count towards a Villain badge but I am just guessing. (Replace Rogue with Vigilante and Hero with Villain as appropriate.)

I fear change. But I will adapt as usual.

I put out bids for hundreds of things for "pennies on the dollar" post merger. Only about 6 of them have bought any so far however all of them are selling for more now than pre-merger. Worst part is all are ones I actually wanted for my characters.
-
I will never say no to mastermind love (true love not sneaky actually make them worse stuff of course). They are absolutely my favorite AT (well maybe tied with Warshades).
-
After much pondering I'd say I am almost entirely in the "someone to cheer on" camp where action and hero movies and stories are concerned. However in the romance category I would like to identify with the geeky loser guy who gets the girl.
I must know I'd make a lousy hero and I need someone with a lot more skill to rescue me from trouble. -
Part of me is very glad they are making the re-make very distinctive. This move might work for me.
-
Very extremely low as far as I can tell. I've had two drop ever.

If you take your villain hero side, odds are he will want to unlock his cape.
When he runs the hero cape mission, he'll probably ask why he has to travel to the far ends of Skyway and Independence Port.
When he's finished, he'll ask where the nearest Tailor is.
When he goes to Serge, he will ask where to find level 20+ Tsoo.
When he goes to Talos Island to battle the Tsoo he will see Wentworths Market.
At the Wentworths market he will see the notification of a zone event in Atlas Park.
Not knowing all the shortcuts to Atlas Park from Talos Island he will make the long trek back.
When he gets to Atlas Park the zone event will be almost over.
Odds are a costume contest will be announced after the event ends, so he will enter it.
While in the contest he will realize he never returned to Serge to unlock the costume slot and use his new cape.
After losing the costume contest he will remember how little zone traveling there was villain side.
And chances are when he remembers that he's going to want to return to villain side. -

I am being denied Lost season 6 by Netflix for now so until they see fit to have it to send to me I continue to wait.

Quote:Was there a list of classics they gave people to choose from? I have a hard time knowing what the classics are in general though I can spot ones I consider classics. I mean I love Adam West's Batman series but I am surprised it is considered a classic in general. It had nowhere near the impact that Star Trek had.But would those shows be considered "classics?"
I mean, I remember being unimpressed by the few episodes of "Green Acres" I have seen, but it isn't really considered a classic in the same sense the shows on that list are.
Or I wonder why The Cosby Show was on the list but Gilligan's Island was not. I guess I will just be glad they didn't put The Twilight Zone on the list. -
I was more baffled by some of them being on the list or the comment put by them than the actual list.
There sure were an awful lot of really dumb shows that were on a long time that belong on that list yet I didn't see any of those. -
Part of me is wondering just how safe that was to do and the other part still doesn't want hay baled to my privates.
