I'm talking personally.
Anyway, on topic (kinda), I'm hoping to get my first (legit) 50 soon, so I can actually take advantage of the Incarnate system. -
I'd feel kinda bad for your opponent's noggins there, Local Man.
It would be nice if Katanas were given one-handed animations (that you'd be locked into if you have Shield as your Secondary) and Broad Sword get two-handed animations (that you'd be locked out of if you have Shield as your Secondary). Obviously, a clean switch between the two wouldn't be ideal, but it would be the easy way to do it (ideally, Katana would get more fluid, graceful motions, and Broad Sword would get more brutal, heavy motions). -
Range/Defense can work, just not at Blaster/Tank levels. Kheldians pull this off already.
-
Bush would be box fodder.

Quote:That would be more incentive for farmers, as well as giving them the tools to do so faster.Personally, what I'd like to do, is the option to get multiple powers different sets/ATs from one tier, you could also choose extra base powers (fury/gauntlet/defiance/domination/scourge/etc). XP required to level would be multiplied massively too.
So you could make the ultimate character, but you'd have to farm XP all day to get to level 2.
Or you could hit level 2 in 5 minutes with a normal archetype.
But either way, it'd be so many kinds of wrong.
I will say that this is a good way to judge what the basis for new Archetypes (or additions/alterations to existing ones). Obviously Blaster damage and Tank armor are a bad combo for game balance, as is that type of defense with heavy control or mastermind pets, as would a combo of those two by themselves. (Mastermind pets with Blasts seems a bit overpowered as well, so does just about any other combo with them, aside from buffs.)
But is Buff/Melee that overpowered? I'd love to make a Kinetics/Kinetic Melee Defender personally.
How about Buff/Control, simply the opposite of what we've got with Controllers? Or expanding the Dominator Assault sets to pair with non-Control sets?
There is potential to mine good things here, as well as the potential for abuse. -
The word for that is the forbidden word: "Oops."
-
Rest. Everyone uses it. Nobody seems to appreciate it.

The explanation of the accuracy and to hit numbers here are the first explanations of the math behind the game that I understand. I'm not a numbers type of player, and I doubt this new understanding will ever really help me, but as someone who has recieved the message that the OP apparently hasn't: Thanks.

The Martian Manhunter, most of the core X-Men, Plastic Man, Green Arrow, Black Canary, some of the Avengers, hell, even the Fantastic Four can be considered second tier.

/bind u "local Chew on this and shaddup!$$ petsay_all <em eat>"
Gives them all a bone to gnaw on, and elicts a few laughs from those around you.
Otherwise, I like the sound effects for them while we're moving crosscountry and engaging in vicious combat. -
Could the moon (whose gravitational pull affects the tides and weather) being closer be the reason why Paragon City has no real weather patterns aside from Sunny with a chance of Rikti?
-
Really? Because I rarely see people flocking to AE like they used to. It's become more of an Inspiration store and occasional place for MA arc teams than a farming tool.

I tend to hate games with this level of customizability. Either you spend literally hours creating a character that looks like an ugly real person, an ugly fake person, or you look like everyone else.
If there is to be a CoH2, I hope it keeps the more cartoonish style. It fits the comic book superhero genre well. (Hopefully they can avoid the duck-faced, claymation look Champions had.) -
How does removing control equate to "highly interactive"?

Quote:How often are these 5-10 minute periods on a typical day? This was key for me. I often have to play a "highly interrupt-able format", as I have two young children. I need the ability to drop the game, deal with Real Life Stuff for 5-10 mins, and come back.
With this play type, I can't run TFs (well, choose not to, at least) - or, as some might say, "raid", for the phat lootz. But I can certainly play the market, and get pretty-good lootz.
Maybe I can't get the best lootz, but I accept that as someone who can't run TFs, my earning potential is going to be lower.
Hm. You can run TFs, you can't (or, choose not to) market, and therefore your income will be lower.
There's a similarity there. -
I've always found that the Atlas Medallion one was pretty easy to get. Getting the fortune teller mission is the hardest part.
-
I took Leviathan Mastery because this character is kinda Aquaman-like and can control animals, and the shark powers fit.
-
I loved the villainous feel of Masterminds, and it's become my second favorite AT in the game.
BTW, I always take at least one MM attack. My pets are good, but I'm not a slacker. Plus, 6 people attacking are better than five. -
For Doms, Jolting Chain and Gremlins are pretty skippable. (I'd take the pets anyway for the lulz.) For Controllers, they're downright necessary.

Quote:Is it wrong that I read this in Jerry Springer's voice?I guess the lesson we learned here is theres multiple ways of earning loot. Some methods are more efficient in certain ways. The market is actually not the be-all end-all of kitting everything on your character. Heresy I know....anyhow, choosing to not use as many of the options as possible in an efficient a manner as possible means things take longer than they could. The odiousness level of the "grind" of any one method is determined solely by the individual pursuing said action. If any given player is okay with the length they are going to to achieve their goal, then we, as a player base, are too. If they are not, we (again, as a whole) invite them to try out the myriad other ways to achieve their goal. What I think they fail to consider, is if their singular way was made more efficient so their timeline was reached then all those others out there that choose to use all methods available would become even more ridiculously efficient as well.
Also, I point people who desire these uber builds quickly to play through the Mender Ramiel first mission more than once...say ten times in a row and see if thats fun. Theres something to be said for the grind to "complete" your character being more fun than actually getting there.
Now, we've capped thise discussion....let it die. -
Weird, and not just for the ultra-super-mega-hyper-bump of this thread. What's the point of farming if you're already above 40th level, if not to PL lowbies?
-
Quote:Suspect nobody out altoholics me with only one account. 180+ toons, 55 50s (and I don't farm/PL), at least 12 toons on every server. All the 50s that have hit 50 since the market are IOd with a couple of exceptions and many of the old ones, plus several below 50.
