Actually I did read all of the posts before posting, its a strange thing to admit but I do tend to try and understand a thread before stepping in with size 10s.
As I have said keeping this alive is not a healthy thing to do you have vented your spleen its been done to death now.
As for being advised to post this hear, its a good idea it brings the subject out into the open for discussion but I have not seen much of that actually going on only a lot of woe is me anything constructive was lost round page 6/7
I agree this is a paid for service, not trying to agree or disagree with whats happened to yourself but if the other player IS role playing a villain then is he not then following your own maxim?
I personally dont actually see you as being abused only having another player not play the way you would prefer them to play!
And as he is also paying for the game he is playing the way he wants to play it.
As for allowing or not allowing people access to your SG bins your call as I said you never really know who a player is until you group with them over time, if youre lucky you find a band of likeminded individuals and enjoy their company of an evening if not then it adds spice to the game after all whats the point of playing if there is no surprises.
If the permissions are redefined that does not actually change the problem you have experienced as if a player wants to do anything with the base they will always need good access, and with that comes the option for abuse.
Mind if you have played with this chap for 12 hour days for a month you may also want to consider going outside into the real world and have a break. Let this drop anything mildly constructive is being buried in the endless return arguments you are constructing.
It really is simple now
You gave him a level that allowed him to remove items!
He the removed the items.
That may not be what you wanted him to do, but it is what he wanted to do and he did.
Learn the lesson and move along, really dont look back keep moving forward.
And to join the general consensus at the end I to will bow out from hear its become a very pointless post now and needs to drop gracefully away.
Regards
Nom

All of this; I agreed with your last post too, and yes, I too have read this sorry thread from the beginning.
I feel for the OP, but he's in denial - he really only has himself to blame, it just isn't NCSoft's problem. I remember reading similar suff on the WoW forums (and a lot more of it went on there) there just isn't a way of proving what happened sufficiently to allow the company to intervene.
The very best way of policing this stuff is expressly forbidden by the forum rules, but not as far as I'm aware in-game - naming & shaming; when @thieving_tard rips you off, you tell your friends to stay clear, they tell their friends... -

Honestly though I really don't see why the Devs had to put 2 brokers/detectives into each zone when surely 1 would have sufficed (like in Grandville, funnily enough). It's just a needless annoyance and now it's probably too late to do anything about it. I have to wonder what design goal prompted that.

Same here - get rid of the indoor detectives please, and put the police van in Steel Canyon closer to the police station (and allow us to call detectives to finish a Safeguard). Yeah, I don't like the travelling. -
..wait I'm confused now; bear with the first-time taunt-tanker here as I ask dumb questions:
You seem to be saying taunt itself doesn't keep aggro, it just multiplies the threat from attacks? I thought I just had to fire off taunt to get attention, and hit it again to keep it. I haven't noticed mobs I've taunted wander off and go blaster-hunting, just the ones that taunt missed and were outside of my aura range.
Do I need to be attacking stuff to maintain aggro? - I do hit stuff, but I always thought tanker attacks were really just there to relieve the boredom, like defender attacks... -
[ QUOTE ]
On my willpower tanker though...I taunt a group, they'd turn at look at me for about half a second then go right for the blaster. I did not have the problem with Jab, let alone any of the higher attacks. Of course anything I jabbed would be in my RttC, but when a power like Fireball does damage and taunts for 13.5 seconds, given that taunts multiply aggro I find it hard to believe that taunt is actually causing more threat.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmm, so far at least, I'm not having the same experience with my willpower tank and the fireblaster I team with - he's generally a total aggro magnet on every alt he's ever played - he's worked up to fire blasting, he spams Fireball and rain of fire like they're going out of fashion (hello Nom).
Mobs I miss with taunt go straight for him - I occasionally have to go hit something or wait and hit taunt again when mobs notice him - but I generally only need to actually attack stuff for the look of the thing (so the other guys don't realise I'm leeching all their xp), stuff I hit with taunt seems to stick to me like glue - although the aura continues to underwhelm. I wish I'd had a pet tank to play alongside my fire blaster!
Of course, at 19-21 we're still on DOs here, it's possible he'll out-aggro me at later levels.. -
Sugar Rush, empathy/energy - left at 41 while I levelled a fire tank from 1 to 50 until I could summon the enthusiam to go back and level her to 50.
Limelight, rad/rad - left at 41 while I levelled 2 scrappers and a controller to 50...still haven't summoned the enthusiam to go back.
Played loads of defenders into the teens and deleted them, have a few skulking in the 20s; they used to be my AT of choice - if there were more teams around, then they probably still would be. -

[ QUOTE ]
But a lot of people don't use Taunt. They just take it because it makes it easier for them to get a team.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm sorry, but what a load of [censored]. Tankers do not just take Taunt so they can get a team.
[/ QUOTE ]
I did. Sort of.
I didn't take taunt on my fire tank as I played like a scrapper (virtually solo to the early 40s) so when I tried using taunt in a team I had no idea - I hadn't made a team-friendly tank. With my current tank, I'm trying to do something as far from that as I could. My current alt, a wp/ tank, was made specifically to team, so at level 21 I have all the primaries I can get, my initial attack, and taunt. Soloing is torturously slow, but if I'd wanted to solo, I'd have rolled a scrapper.
I play in a regular team along with a controller and a blaster, and I rely on the other two almost entirely to deliver the damage - they rely on me to stop them getting killed while they do it. If anything I can feel like a spare part a lot of the time, but when an occasional mob gets loose and and starts beating on the other two, I remember why I'm there.
It feels strangely like playing my old Empathy defender...
The wp/ taunt aura feels very weak to me - at least compared to fire/ - I could hold local aggro a heck of a lot easier with my fire/ tank; without taunt on my wp/ tank, I'm like a very tough scrapper with one very weak attack - no use at all on a team. (I might get another attack at 22!)
I wouldn't turn a willpower-tank-without-taunt away from a team, I just wouldn't rely on them to hold the aggro - and I wouldn't go that route myself. -

I actually want in-game ads for realism.
[/ QUOTE ]
So do I, but that involves them getting a lot more advertisers than one, and doing something special with ads in places like Boomtown (like aging them) - from the posts I've read on the US forums, neither was in evidence.
I'm surprised Nike advertised (or that NC's ad people approached them in the first place) the sterotypical MMO player isn't really their market.
I'd have thought a more likely set of advertisers would be ISPs, PC sellers and fast food companies. -
If it was, then it didn't stick - she was still doing it around 3 months ago, the last time I was in Faultline...

Brownie Point: lvl 50 spines/regen
Precious Mettle: lvl 50 broadsword/wp
Crowquill: lvl 50 spines/wp (took the best bits from the two above)
Pitchwood: lvl 11 spines/fire (I'll probably delete him, I have enough spines...)
Deleted:
Pilot Error: lvl 11 ma/sr (my first alt, didnt like martial arts being nothing but variations on the theme of 'kick')
Graveheart: lvl 19 broadsword/da (needed ventolin between fights)
Steel Shogun: lvl 24 kat/regen (had enough of regen, and wanted more damage, so rolled the bs/wp)
Plus about half a dozen others that didnt make it to level 10 before I got bored with the concept... -
Flaming June: fire/fire, level 50 - retired; a lot of fun, but not a great tank
Bull Throttle: inv/ss, level 14 - retired and remade as a brute - now level 50
Top Brass: ice/ice, level 11 - play occasionally but not liking it yet
Ace Sulfame: wp/mace, level 14 - current alt, liking it so far -
On my winged-flying characters, I use a bind that toggles fly and the first two character slots to hide & show wings - the 30 second delay is total pain... I usually end up running around with my wings out! (Oh! The embarressment!)
...so I /sign, even reducing to a 10 second delay would be a big improvement. -
Mobs stuck in shelves can always be hit, you just have to find the right level and angle - its the ones that you find with just a pair of legs hanging down from the ceiling that can be really hard to shift.
-
I took taunt briefly on my fire tank but respec'd it out... I found it slow and cumbersome compared to just jumping around and hitting stuff to get aggro (or in other words it didn't suit my playstyle on that character); on more than one occasion, teammates died because I opted to taunt instead of hit....so you could say I wasn't a fan.
A couple of days ago I decided to roll a 'real' tank (I don't think of fire tanks being in that category, sorry)... one that can stand still long enough to hold aggro without almost - or actually - dying; it's something I've been putting off for a long time, as a scrapper-defender-controller-blaster its always looked a very dull job from the outside. I have a level 14 Invul/SS tank with all the anniversary badges; I have an ice/ice tank that I've struggled to get to 11 and can't seem to get a grip on.
So for my third attempt I chose WP/ as I have a couple of /WP scrappers and wanted to see what it was like ramped up for tanks. I haven't taken - or slotted - any attacks yet, got to 10 last night and took taunt.
I like it. -

dont know much about DC comics unfortunately.
[/ QUOTE ]
Me neither, but I do know that Batman met Judge Dredd, and I'm fairly sure time travel was involved and not just Batman hanging around for long enough.
Dredd's greatest villain (Judge Death) is a ghost - that's about as hard a mix of SF & Fantasy as you could wish to see. -

Unlike brutes, scrappers can rest between mobs without affecting their perfomance. However, this rarely happens due to scrapperlock.
[/ QUOTE ]
And, if you're a regen Scrapper, it isn't necessary.
My main Scrapper was always designed to be a Stalker, not a Brute. I think Tanks aspire to be Brutes, to be honest. A kat/regen Scrapper has stupidly high survivability (at least, they did a year ago the last time I analysed it), better than most, if not all, Brutes, along with respectable damage output. Broadsword/Regen should technically have slightly better damage output with more or less equal survival. A Brute with a regen secondary would be utterly awesome, but it's not going to happen, it would be way over powered.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll take Willpower over Regen thanks, Regen felt like playing a scrapper and my own personal empath, Willpower is very much fire-and-forget.
(I levelled a spines/regen to 50, followed by a broadsword/willpower; I put the best bits together and got my spines/willpower to 50 at the weekend.. I'll happily play my spines/wp, probably never touch my spines/regen again.... and I liked new-MoG)
I've only played an Invulnerable Brute, but he feels downright squishy compared to my Willpower scrappers. -

I wonder if they'll ever make lower level Nemesis Army mobs, now that he sems to be emerging as a much more powerful and important enemy?
Rikti start at around 5-6 (technically), but Nemesis soldiers aren't seen until much later.
[/ QUOTE ]
Possibly... but if he is as he seems to be then I'd be let down at him having troops that are low level. He's got a serious shot at whatever he wants and seems to know what he's doing. Only appearing at high level fits for me.
[/ QUOTE ]
Plus they'd have to rewrite loads of the intitial Nemesis arcs as they all start out with the assumption he's not been around for quite a while and the new sightings are most likely a latter-day imposter. I seem to remember Nemesis soldiers initially being introduced very mysteriously as some 'unknown soldier' crops up at the end of a Freakshow mission.
I love the way that Nemesis arcs move his story on as you progress through them, it would be a shame to have low levels Nemesis muddying that. -

Hmmm...this is a bit confusing. I don't know if they accept City of Heroes or City of Heroes/Villians.
Anyone know either?
[/ QUOTE ]
My guess is that if you put down anything other than "City of Heroes: Issue 12: Midnight Hour" they'll think you're wrong as I'm sure they haven't a clue.

hmm in freakish coincidence i arrive home today to find a small package from my bank (RBS) its a small calculator looking thing which is going to make making payments more secure by adding a extra layer of security to transactions.

Don't get too excited, we've had ours for about a year - we've never been asked to use it, despite doing most of our banking online. -

Maestro was just targetted at the younger generation.

eh?
Opens wallet, digs out ATM/debit card, sees the word 'Maestro'. This is the card that came with my mortgage/current account.
As far as I was aware Maestro is the debit card in the UK. I've never had, or even been offered a Visa card by my bank...and I'm no longer "the younger generation." -
Just keep turning the screws FFM, that'll help.
Can we lock this now please? -
Tough love
My Brute wanted to murder Phipps at the end of the arc. -

They come from another planet; sure it might be a duplicate of ours, but it isn't actually ours. That makes them alien enough for me.
Besides, does xenophobia only work if the illegal alien is from Mars? -

I think the word you're looking for is Genocide.
