Mobs Stuck in Scenery

I'm getting pretty sick and tired of not being able to finish missions because a mob has got stuck in scenery - this usually happens in warehouses where they get stuck in the racking.

This makes them a blocked tartget and therefore impossible to kill. Pretty naff when the mission remit is to kill all mobs.

It's about time this was addressed - or NCSoft can wave goodbye to my monthly subscription!

The easiest ways to deal with scenery-stuck mobs are as follows:

1) Send a petition. Possibly the least viable option, as there is no easy way to tell how long it will be before a GM will reply.

2) Aggro. Make sure the mob is aggroed on someone, and then move. Get out of Line of Sight. The mob will try to follow. If there is any way for it to escape being stuck, it will find it, and free itself.

3) AOE. Use PBAoE powers. These will hit it.

Mobs stuck in shelves can always be hit, you just have to find the right level and angle - its the ones that you find with just a pair of legs hanging down from the ceiling that can be really hard to shift.

No argument from me on that score, SR. At which point I consider it to be "Nova Time!"

However, by sending it you make sure that we're aware of it. Everything gets prioritised, and if a bug is shown to be affecting a significant number of players that bug will get a higher priority.

Actually, GR, since you've poked your head in here, and we know you're paying attention...

Would it, in that circumstance, be appropriate to /bug and go for option 2 or 3, to flag it as a bug, but not expect any GM support, or would you prefer us to /petition? Or both /bug and /petition?

For something like this, where it's a single mob preventing you completing them mish goals (and I see this one more than others, I imagine, with my Eng blaster), and it can be resolved without GM intervention, what would be your preferred method of us flagging it?

Tried all the above to be honest. But many thanks to everyone for their replies.

I'm obviously not the only one who's experienced this in COH/V. It's not something I've come across in any other MMO either. It just gives the whole game that 'unpolished' feel.

I actually ended up having to log out and back in, which reset the mission so had to do it all again. Pretty frustrating as it was a timed mission and it left me with 19mins to do the whole thing again - managed it though.

Again - thanks to everyone for their help and suggestions.

Have fun!!

Speedier method - leave the mission map, change the mission to another one that you have available (police band mishes make a pretty good choice for this), then switch back. This resets the mission, as described, but without having to log all the way out and back in again.

Nice one Shadowe, thanks for the tip!

This problem is extra fun when it appears on a TF. Especially in one of the final missions. No easy resetting a mission there without wasting hours of effort.

Best thing would be to have a button to finish the mission regardless of one or to mobs unaccounted for. Perhaps at the cost of the mission bonus.

Be better if they didn't get stuck in the first place. This bug in various forms has been around for ages.

..and in that situation it's affecting possibly a whole team of players therefore /petition inside a TF would likely get a GM's notice quicker, based on that fact from what GR told us above.

i find that the method described above, moving out of Line of sight when you have aggro works most of the time. I usually find it's due to knockback of some sort.
