You can also run the Citadel task force (located in Talos).

Quote:You show me a video of a katana/DA farming, and I'll show you a video of a SS/FA farming, deal? I would find that highly amusing.No...it just bothers me that some people are so closed minded...
OP--Go SS/FA. It'll take a bit of money to make a decent build for it, but you'll get so much more money in return. -
Quote:You've discovered the secret!
As of the past couple of days I came to realize that I have found my way of playing, I have made a few characters the way I want, the way that makes me happy and there is nothing wrong with whatever faults they probably have. I am taking my time learning the game my way and asking questions on here when I feel the need.
I guess the whole point of this game is that this game is really amazing and so multifaceted and deep that you really can do whatever you want and be happy and I missed that in the beginning. -
So basically what this guy said?
Quote:3. Make photon seekers more useful. Give them the Carrion creeper effect. When they expire, they summon a pseudopet. Any enemies that die in the Pseudopet causes another Photon Seeker to be summoned. Each one would create the Pseudopet, and each pet would summon for a death in range. -
As Gerald was implying, it's not just your lack of using inspirations (though that indeed can mean the difference between life and death) that hurt you, your build and fighting strategy equally matter. If you have the means of uploading a video, Roger, perhaps we can get a more in depth look at what you're doing? If you don't currently have a way of making a video, xfire has a nifty program that uploads video onto their website easily.

...Indeed.
I feel the urge to point out, though, that while the difference between Posi Blast and Kheld's Grace enhancement values may mean little on your typical casually purpled warshade, the values themselves (leaving out all the global recharge we have) make a decent difference. Something to keep in mind, maybe? -

Sounds like next time I need to petition someone, I should do it right before I log for the night.

Assuming you ever get access to invention origins (and with those levels), you're better off farming hero/villain merits. Just run the tip missions until you get an alignment mission, get the merits, and eventually you can trade them in for rare IO's. Then sell them on the market. It's a decent way to make money, and does not require a farmer build.
But until you get access to IOs, there is absolutely no reason to put yourself through the hassle. -
Quote:Just curious, when did you leave the game? Was it before inventions, and the marketplace? Because 100 million is really a pittance, now days. Back then, a small fortune, but yeah, not anymore.I've been out of the game for a good while, but was thinking about giving it another run. Ony thing is I see that costume contests are going as high as $100M! That got me thinking something along the lines of "if prices in the market are so inflated that $100M can be given away on a regular basis for a costume contest, how in the hell would I ever get my characters off the ground?!? (I probably have about $300M total...and I'm not the type to beg for cash).
Maybe I'm missing something? -
Frankly, there is no real pressing need for a premium player to farm, let alone a low level one. Unless you're a high tier vet, you won't have IO's unlocked, so what would you be using the money for? You'd make more than enough money to slot yourself with SOs via normal content.

To say it another way...
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the LFG function. It works as it was intended. Unfortunately, it is not being USED as it was intended. People will form their teams for trials before hand, and then enter the trial. So if you're not already on the team, you're out of luck. And pay no attention to the average wait time, as it means nothing if nobody else is using the queue. -
Yep, just go into your friends tab and click the hide button, and check all those little bubbles. I'm not sure if the slash command still works, but it used to be /hide.

As Blue said, though, there are different types of things to farm for. Money, badges, drops...the common idea behind it is that you're trying to do it in the most efficient, and speedy way.
-
Quote:It is generally done for quick money. This money is in turn used to outfit their favorite characters with expensive IO's in a way that wouldn't necessarily be possible without a LOT more time playing, or lucky drops.Thanks. So people are purpose building toons just to farm more effiently? Seems kinda like a waste when you want to play the real game if your toon is so tailored for that single aspect or purpose?
So, in a sense, one could argue they're saving themselves time by the process by cutting through countless hours of non farming time to outfit their character the way they want. -

In the context of this game:
It's a mission done (generally a specific type of mission) repeatedly in an ultra efficient manner so as to get the maximum amount of rewards per time invested. There are many different missions you can "farm." Currently most of them are AE related, though there is normal content that is popular to farm, too. -
It all depends on how you want to play the set, as each one plays differently. If you didn't like archery/fire, you might not like Mental manipulation too much either. Both are played in melee a lot.

Quote:Early 2008.How long ago did they change this? Back before i took a leave of absence I remember voids/quantums being a terror...but im not sure if it was ever that bad.
-
It depends on a lot of things, and personal preference.
-
If it makes you feel any better, back in the day the Voids/Quantums used to deal unresistable damage to khelds. What this meant was that instead of being a mild annoyance in low levels due to their stun/knockback ability, they were a genuine threat at all levels. (And Shadow Cysts used to mean your team was probably about to wipe.)
