  1. Most Fun:

-Hand Clap, Hurl, Foot Stomp. They put the 'super' into super strength. Too bad Hand Clap and Hurl get passed over so much for 'better' powers.

-Stone Spears, I'd play a set of nothing but that power.

-Eagle's Claw and Crane Kick, nothing says 'and stay out!' like flipping in the air, kicking a guy so hard his jaw comes off, landing and then kicking him off a rooftop and watching him all the way down.

-Clobber, I always precede this with Jawbreaker, which means my WM/SR brute is slamming a sledgehammer down on the back of some poor *******'s skull every time I use this. So much sadistic fun I actually find myself laughing maniacally at the keyboard on occasion.

-Energy Blast, the whole damned set.

-Vengeance/Fallout/Power of the Phoenix, making crappy players useful, one corpse explosion at a time.

-Shield Charge, the only attack power to ever impress me unslotted.

    Least Fun:

-Aura Heals, are you trying to balance yourself on a surfboard or something?

-Stuns in Melee sets (pick one), welcome to the suck.

Not to mention Fire/Dark is ready to roll by about level 12.
  3. My brutes run at 0/+4 for smashy goodness. Most of my others run at standard difficulty because I'm too lazy to change it. My high level scrappers have some stupid high difficulty ratings just for ***** and giggles, but I tend to change it around as I go. If I know an enemy group is irritating I'll crank 'em right down and put the boots to them.
  4. The humans ain't no brain trust either. Their understanding of defensive tactics is a little suspect...

No, don't get up, I'll see myself out.

Vahzilok are fun all around, except for the 'fighting' part.
  5. This is a rough, although unslotted, approximation of my Inv/DB who currently sits at 39.

No Power Slice. And Nimble Slash is never touched, so no slots for you. Certainly not a perfect build by any stretch, with no real focus, but it's working quite well so far.

I use two different trays for attacks. Solo is the BF->AV chain, with the big cone attacks afterward when appropriate. Teamed I go BF->AoE till they all die. I originally used more combos, but have lost some interest in them. Sweep would be a nice addition for mitigation, but I can't justify wasting a slot on Power Slice since I'm already wasting a pick on Nimble Slash.

At the higher levels I find I'm better off mostly focusing on the AoE of the set, and using the BF->AV chain for harder targets. I suppose you could go for a more ST focus, or even a split focus kind of like my solo chain, but after you pick up the final attacks it's not really worth it. The set just does AoE so well that fighting anything less than massive spawns feels wasted.

I haven't been playing my DB tanker much, although when I have in the past I've been recording my thoughts on the combo as a whole, and on the levelling experience with it. I had considered a guide, but I'm kinda lazy.
  6. I like Fire/Dark corruptors for AoE. Crazy damage, good survivability, and they mature super early. Best? Doubtful, but still bloody awesome.

Although I'd probably vote for a Fire/Fire blaster if you just wanted to go ******* crazy throwing AoE's around while a tanker held aggro.

    Leaving an SG...

Thanks. I want to transfer the character to a different server, but didn't really want the sg to lose the sizable pile of prestige he'd earned.
  8. I remember seeing a thread at one point for a Fire/Fire with a 4 billion inf build. I'll see if I can dig that up. Might have some good suggestions.

I'm building my /Fire scrapper for +Recharge. Offense is going through the roof, although the defensive side of things is getting quite nice as well since Healing Flames is up quite often. Going for +Def would likely make you tougher than the +Rech, but if you're looking to cause mayhem, the added offense from the high recharge would be my focus.

Edit: Bah. Looks like the thread I was thinking of was for a Shield/Fire, which is no help at all. That, or I just can't find the thread I was thinking of. My search fu is weak.

    Leaving an SG...

When you leave a Supergroup, do they keep the prestige you earned for them? I'm thinking yes, but just want to make sure.

    New Scrapper

I'll throw in Electric Melee paired with Dark Armor. Lots of fun. And different. And unlike Shields or Willpower, there likely isn't going to be more than one of you on a given team.

Thursday would work for me, although I'll be hearing it from the wife for joining another static group. Oh well, I'll just bring home chocolate those nights.

Still working on my WM/SR brute, but find it quite enjoyable so far. Used set slotting/frankenslotting starting at 17 to handle the endurance issues fairly well. I think the +Recharge from SR will help immensely, particularly with the lower tier attacks and building fury.

Just about to 28, so looking forward to another crazy aoe attack to unleash.

I think the combo works well, but there isn't much in the way of synergy to comment on other than the +Rech, which is less synergy and more just general awesome. Of course you'd get the +Rech from Electric Armor, as well as a damage aura and a self heal, so that might merit some consideration.

If a time is settled on that allows me to attend, I'd probably bring a Gravity/Sonic controller. Been working on customization options along those lines for awhile. That, and gravity seems to work well for a telekinetic type character better than mind. But like I said, that's if things work out.

I'd be interested. Usually available after 6 or 7 EST, but not on Monday, Friday, or Saturday (other team nights). Could play just about anything really, though not a tank as I already have about 8 on this server.

    War Mace...

I love my WM/SR. Jawbreaker->Clobber. Crack him in the jaw up into the air, and slam a sledgehammer down on the back of his head while he's laying face down on the pavement. Good times, good times.

I find it to be a very visually satisfying set. Pair that with it being effective numbers wise and you've got a very nice, very enjoyable set.
  17. Battleborne (with theme song), a BS/SD scrapper on Freedom. Some bad language in the song, just to warn your virgin ears.

(possibly the best screenshot I've ever taken, aside from a couple clipping issues)

Yes, that's my exact post pretty much from the stickied 'best costume designs' thread up top, but it works.
  18. I'm finding this thread very helpful as my own Inv/EM is level 23 and may soon need a respec. As terrible as EM is, I keep finding myself returning to the character and playing a little bit more, so it's good to get a little better idea of what to aim for.
  19. Good luck in your quest Smurphy.

I recently joined a debt = deletion sg starting up on Virtue and it's quite the experience, especially at the low levels when just getting to a mission can kill you. Depending on what other rules you put on yourself, it can be very challenging.

    Solo Brutes

I have two brutes: a WM/SR and a Fire/WP. Both are fun, and both kick ***, and in my experience both were good from the get-go. I find the biggest improvement one can make is early IO slotting. I go at 17 and load up on IO's. Some for set bonuses that'll help out. Some for frankenslotting.

As much as people say SR is a late bloomer, I found that some decent slotting early on made it a lot of fun and took care of most of the endurance issues. And routinely crushing 3-5 guys at a time with Shatter is sick, wicked, and nasty. Once I get some better defense values and recovery, I'll be cranking the difficulty way up and seeing what she can do.

Willpower will get most of the votes, and rightly so, but I'm liking SR.
  22. Tech Tanker - Inv/Elec - A kevlar vest best approximates the Inv set, and electrified brass knuckles, ala Batman from the JLA animated series.

    Defender - TA/Ar, TA/AR, Traps/AR, Traps/Ar are all fairly obvious.

Controller - I got nothing. The only 'natural' controllers I've had were a Mind/ who was a master hypnotist, and a Fire/ who realized fire was a living thing and trained it like a pet. Pushing the bounds of sci-fi on that second one, but it is a comic universe.
