From what I know of fire as secondary Blazing aura has only an 8ft radius which is pretty small when you are firing off all the other aoes. Combustion takes forever to animate and again has a small radius. I am planning on taking hot feet for my secondary farmer build in my fire/fire becuase it has a 20ft radius. It takes a lot of endurance and if you are soft capping chances are you will already have a lot of toggles running(shield, weave, cj, (maybe tough), before your auras are toggled on.
-
I am sorry for maybe the newbie question here but what is the beneifit of the Hami's again? I know on my shield scrap, putting them in adds to my ddr some but I am not sure if that is what they are for here or something else?
-
The crash from the nuke is -1000%. I do not know if it cancels out drain psyche. The way I have seen it used though is to nuke, pop blue then drain psyche. If it does not cancel it then it would always be better to have it up prior to nuking though. I know you have the purple set in shockwave but that power slotted right is a pretty damn good pbaoe. The stun componant is only mag2. I would rather have this built for damage based off your goal if you can still keep Drain perma.
-
I actually liked thunderous blast because it was ranged. If I am in the middle of mobs and then fire the nuke, if anything survives I am gonna go down very fast. with TB I can atleast have a min to get my shield back up

I did bring up your build and I also know that stealth reads double what it normally does unless you go in and alter the figures which I have done for my mids. I know you have power boost slotted heavily, I know when you toggle on stealth it will reach soft cap. So why have that many slots in two different things when both achieve the exact same outcome of soft cap defense. When using both it eats up a lot of slots that could be placed elsewhere. My point against power boost is that it takes time to cast and use. That is time you could be using to throw out more attacks since the goal of the build is to get the highest dmg possible out of all of your attack(as evidence by the 6 slotting and your repsonses.) I know you have stealth and ss so you can get position on groups of enemies so thats why I would drop PB. If I took the time to go to Villan side and grab Mace, I have thought about maybe taking the hold for things like LGTF if I had a pwr to take. One other thought would be to take a slot or two and put it into health.
The thing I think both Silencer and myself are asking you is would it be better to 6 slot some of those attacks or take those extra few slots and place them elsewhere to maybe get more bang for the buck. No matter what you choose for your exact build, if you have soft cap and high recharge you are going to be more than fine in performance with a build like this.
Edit: I was posting but am a slow typer and missed your recent post. I am not sure if I understand your info on Hasten. My build has 87% (without hasten toggled), it is not perma but it is within 7-8 seconds when I am solo without the base rech buff and hasten on. On an team I almost always have it perma or pretty damn close from any number of buffs. If you have Hasten even within 1 second of perma, it will just make you loose the 70% for only that 1 second (+ the time to animate)before it comes back up? I could be very wrong on that, not sure. -
It is what you say but I don't understand why you only 1 slotted bu and aim, 4 slotted hasten, and 3 slotted stealth when it appears you only want the power to be a mule. I know you wanted hasten perma but 2 second total and you could have your dmg boosting abilities up a lot more quickly. Also it would cut into your attack chains I would think to always keep throwing up power boost just to hit soft cap when you are 1 set away from having it now or just by running stealth pretty much.

I love my fire/fire blaster. Running head first into a group, popping fire ball, burn, then fss. On farms, I pop rain of fire first then continue those three with bu/aim and blaze on some bosses. As the other poster said fire comes fast and early where arch is a tad later.I know rain of arrows is an awsome pwr and on teams I love seeing the dmg come up but those 25 sec or so while it is down I am still able to maintain the high dmg with the other great fire aoe's
-
Then yeah it is def a huge improvement over SO's by all means and should be a nice step up in performance all around. The acc and recharge will def be noticable.
-
I am by no means an expert with builds, with that said though, I agree with the suggestion on clap. I am not quite sure I understand what you are aiming for in the build. Most people I see go for either some type of defense(atleast to 32, to pop a purple and reach soft cap) or go for very high recharge to, in theory, kill anything before it can kill you. It looks like a well rounded build but those thunderstrikes take a ton of slots and don't get you too high in ranged def. Maybe there is something I am missing(I am a noob with these), I am just more of a fan to try and min/max in an area. You are after all playin a blaster

Any Ideas on how I can still run Assault and hot feet and improve on this build?

Hatred, I was lookin at your build and I like a lot of things. I was going to respec my fire/fire/cold in the next few days and want to incorperate hotfeet. Your end drain is about .3 lwr than what I could get mine but I was trying to find a way to keep Burn in and slotted. It hits so freakin hard for an aoe even though it has a small radius but I am guessing you are in the middle of every mob pull with a build like this. I will post my build up after work and maybe any suggestions can be made. My main concern is end drain but I figure if I can run hotfeet that will help in the farming runs a lot. I also like running assault but could easily drop this. I figure I am going for the highest dmg I possibly can and currently run it with no probs. I know it is only 10% but hey, thats still 10%, along with the rare 45% dmg alpha right now. The dmg is insane on these guys.
-
I am by no means any expert on the subjet but I did finish IO'g my db/wp scrap. The answer, I would say is both. WP gives you a lot of regen, just slot the powers accordingly with sets that give you some bonuses to go with your build. I would look at trying to get your S/L Def up as much as you can so that when you are hit the high regen will kick in to bring you right back in line. I have 45 s/l and around 41hp per second w/o any targets in area for RTTC. Once 1 target is in range that # goes up much higher.
-
This is what I came up with until I can afford some better purples etc. I know cages is a higher dmg attack so I can swap the slots in either flares or it. If I drop flares I really have no idea what else to take. I can't fnd anything I can slot with my last LoTG available. Any suggestions there to get the rech back to 88 before hasten? I don't plan on actually running manuvers but I have it basically for a lotg mule. I am def open to swaping other thngs around to run it and drop slots from another pwr as long as I can still keep 45 s/l and the end drain doesnt get to high.

Does anyone have an idea on how to get close to the same level of recharge, still keeping s/l soft capped, and running assault? A couple ideas I was trying to think of was maybe dropping fire breath and the nuke to try and free up some other slots. My aoe chain pretty much consists of fireball, burn, fsc. Then throw in a blaze on the boss and repeat as necessary. The aoe dmg of those three attacks coming up with 88 recharge base(before hasten) is pretty close. I know breath is a good attack but I find I am not using it nearly as often as the other 3 aoes. Burn is just so much fun in close quarters.
I have taken the advice and just thrown the stealth pool at the end of my build and took fire breath earlier But I just don't seem to use it. The nuke I rarely use also but when I do it is still a fun power to pop off. I ran in a Katie TF the other day and every other wave I was able to kill the majority of minors right off the bat and I couldn't stop smiling hehe. I am running the second tier musc alpha right now and just figured if my goal is to be pushing out dmg without trying to face plant, If I could somehow fit Assult that would add to the dmg even more. I am guessing I can save for some purples to throw into blaze and offset the lose of some lotgs no? -
I just put active defense on as my auto power and then leave hasten as the first spot on my main attack chain bar. This leave 0 chance that I do not have active defense on and I would much rather pop hasten than active defense when it comes up.
-
I have my DB/WP scrapper and was thinking of going for the muscul Alpha for the added dmg since I was using a lot of Kin Combats for S/L def and most the dmg sits near 85% with 4 slotted if I remember right. I was looking though at possibly going for the recharge/heal route. My question is on the "Heal" portion of the Alpha. Since I am WP and trying to stay S/L soft cappedm, does this alpha boost the regen effects in WP and or does it increase the HP from high pain Tolerance? I would think this would be a very good alpha to go for as well if the healing effects effected the regen of powers like RTTC and Fast Healing and even more so if it gave me more HP. Any insight would be appreciated.
-
So you want something to show off in a group and have them say how good your dmg is?
Make a ss brute get rage, pop a few reds and watch the dmg from knockout blow hit for 1k+. Other than that just make a good IO build with any scrapper set and kill. I run my ele/sd and when I saturate AAO and pop a red or have a few buffs the dmg can be in the 600-700's on the aoe LR etc. It seems every team I am on is running some shield toons now days though and I figure the less people are oo'g and aw'g the more they are helping the team kill faster!
-
Thanks for the quick reply. One other question then is what is a good mark to shoot for. Form the builds I have been seeing most are around 60% but I am not sure if there is any way to boost it past that amount? I played with some of the Hami IO's in active defense but that really changing it by a small amount. i know it is all %'s and every little bit helps though too.
-
I have my ele/sd scrapper almost fully IO'd out. I have him at soft capp to all positions. I have read alot about ddr(defense debuff resistance?) I know I do want to have it as high as possible also to avoid a cascading defense debuff so to speak. I am not sure how to tell what my DDR is and how I can get it higher. I am a ele/sd/blaze scrap and I have seen people put in a few Hami IO's but I am not sure how this effects DDR and what powers to put it in to improve. I went on a couple groups in Cim and some of the enemies in there attack and have the defense debuffs attached to those attacks. I know after I get hit once or twice how badly that can be hehe. Any help would be appreciated!
-
So here would be my idea if I can get to villan side and back. I took fire breath much earlier. I have a hold now for things like LGTF as I have been in a few groups without any holds. Any suggestions from here?

Maybe I am not viewing something correct but when I turn on your stealth it is showing that you did reach the soft cap but that will supress to half its value once in combat right? That would put you about 2% under on S/L.
-
Thank you all for the responses. Great suggestion on the proc in KC for the mule pwrs. I took 3 slotting of SJ for the sets in BotZ to help reach my soft cap. I have not played around much with blasters but I know when I get held on my scrap(rarely) it drops some toggles and that is less time I can be focused on what I should do. As far as the alpha slotting I was hoping to get input on my end cosumption as I can always snag the end redux instead if I am having problems but I am hoping to cover those in the build rather than with the alpha. Range would be nice for blaze but other than that I rarely would see much of a benefit if I am trying to achieve a soft cap right? The idea I am going for is to be able to stay close in for burn. I think I could easily swap in fire breath earlier. To take the snipe instead and get the recharge I would have to invest more slots there that I am tight on already.
For my KB I have 4 from BotZ, 3 from Fury of the Glad and 3.5 from Acrobatics(If I keep it) Is that overkill on having acrobatics? I am not sure where else to get some hold protection though. Any ideas? As for consume, my original thought was that if I keep the nuke then I would want it to recover my end after and in this case it is prob overslotted for that. I could take 1 slot from it and throw that into health or some other location. If I drop the nuke entirely then I lose some of the kb protection from the set there and I am still not sure how much to shoot for as a safe amount? if I drop the nuke then I would prob go for the rain, any other suggestions there? -
Wow, how did Kin Combats get so pricey recently. I need to ticket farm like who to try and get them. They are going for 160mil a pop now. They were 40-60 like 3 weeks ago hehe. I still really like this build but have not put it in place. Is my end going to be okay with my chains here?
-
Here is the current build I am planning. I definitly wanted to be soft capepd to s/l and get as much recharge as I could while still keeping my end in check. I really don't think I would be using my nuke that much but I could not think of anything else really to take. I want to make sure I am not always being knocked down held with cc but i am not to familair other than slotting acrobatics or the mag protection in BotZ etc. I have +3 from fury of the gladiator also in but not sure if that is worth it or if I should go some other route. I also plan on getting the dmg alpha. Any ideas or ways to improve? I could also head over to villan and sswap to Mace mastery instead but I am not sure what would be best.

I am not nearly as familair with regen as I am with willpower but I know willpower can get S/L def up to cap pretty easily and you don't need a ton of recharge to make the bf/AV chain in db pretty effective. I also took the sweep chain with I19 and have been very happy with it. With rttc the regen get to very nice levels and I never have any end problems. My IO build is about 75% complete and with 0 targets feeding rttc I am about 38hp per sec( I have not finished QH and health yet with IO's). The less times I have redraw the better so I am not sure how the heal would effect dps on a regen. Willpower is just fine though and plenty survivable.
